  • nice, bout time they released a fast wireless charging device

how does this compare to the official samsung one
personally waiting for the new Qualcomm tech with longer proximity

    • Cheaper alternative to the Samsung with the same fast charging.

      • fair enough!

        does it support other brands?

does it use PMA or QI only?

        • Fast charging is only used by the Samsung phones listed in OP.

Everything else uses standard Qi. You can find some of them listed here.

          No PMA.

        • @Clear:
LG G4 is in the stand list.
Standard fast charging with this wireless pad?

        • @albanyson: Just standard wireless charging.

        • @Clear:
The same time to charge as standard usb charger? I'll give one of these a crack

  • The biggest question is…

    IsItEdible?
    • -1

      now whos hijacking threads

  • Tempted to get one of these.

Though not sure how I can use the phone and charge at same time with it….
They are more for leaving on the pad and going to sleep?

    • +2

more like i have to run to meetings constantly throughout the day, so handy to plop onto the desk and pick it up when i get a text or gotta go to a meeting without having to plug unplug constantly

      • I remember the first generation of Qi Wireless charging was very temperamental in how you place your phone relative to the charger. It'd only work if the phone's placed in a very specific spot and in a very specific facing. Is that still the case with this?

    • Though not sure how I can use the phone and charge at same time with it

The WHOLE idea is that you charge when you are not using the phone.

Hence, there is no need to charge while you are using it.

(This came up in another conversation here, and I have absolutely no idea why people would desire to talk on the phone while they are plugged in and charging).

      • People talk on the phone…..really?
I'm finding new things to do with mine all the time…….😷

        • People talk on the phone…..really?

Yeah - but why would you WANT to also charge your phone at the same time?

          You said:

Though not sure how I can use the phone and charge at same time with it

Perhaps you are trolling, or perhaps you aren't fathoming the dead obvious. If you use a wireless charger, you can charge without having to plug in.

Since you don't have to plug in, your phone sits on the charger every time you aren't on a call.

Hence, most of the time it is always fully charged, so you don't ever need to plug it in.

If you are out and away from the charger, then you can simply plug in and charge like you seem to prefer. However, in normal usage at home or work, and especially the main charge overnight, you simply plop the phone down on the charging pad instead of the desk.

Read furythree's comment as that makes it 100% clear how to use these devices. You need to change your attitude towards charging, then they make perfect sense.

So at the end of a 45-minute phone call, I can leave my house or desk with 100% charge.

But yes, the point of wireless chargers is so the battery is continually topped up whenever the phone is put down on a desk.

So at the end of a 45-minute phone call, I can leave my house or desk with 100% charge.

The point is, that a wireless charger doesn't stop you from plugging in if you want.

But yes, the point of wireless chargers is so the battery is continually topped up whenever the phone is put down on a desk.

Precisely. And it stuns me that people cannot grasp that wireless and wired charging are not mutually exclusive. You can use either… the wireless is slower but heaps more convenient, especially for phones that use MicroUSB due to how frail and fiddly the plugs are to connect each time.

  • I would jump onto this if I actually got my earphones from last deal…had to get paypal involved to get money back.

    • Xiaomi piston basic? Orders can take up to 30 business days with free shipping - typical with China.

      • no man, it was your hybrid deal back in April …

        • Ah right. You could have PM'd me instead of PP but that's ok.

        • @Clear: all good, i contacted support and they just said its sent here is your tracking ..we have sent it please wait. but it never landed in Aus. Just said left china. Just wondering, what powers have you got in a situation like that?

        • @DvD: When a package is likely lost after it's gone over the maximum expected delivery time I can get them to refund/replace.

        • @Clear: so do you actually work for geekbuying or just get kickbacks for arranging deals?

like a paid version of Rawm?

        • @furythree: A version of monty is more accurate. I took the 3rd party marketing tag after Geekbuying's Store Reps left.

        • @Clear: what does that mean

        • @furythree: There is a kickback, but I have an interest in this kind of stuff and the thrill of posting.

          Wiki says
3rd Party Marketing - you work for a company hired by the store to promote their products or their online presence (including SEO)

        • @Clear: ah i see

  • need a new charger - but want to hold out for the 5 port QC2 one to come back with a special!

    decisions decisions @_@"

    • Why not both? Buy this one and get the 5 port when the next deal comes up.

      • very tempted at the moment lol… ozbargain is an evil place to be at night hahaha

  • Any idea what the charge time per device like S7 or S7 edge would be on this device?

    • +1

This with a fast charger should charge it under 2 hours. I'll ask Tronsmart for a more accurate number.

  • @Clear can only buy one? I opted for 2x, and it's charging me USD45, -$5.

    • The coupon only takes X away so it'd have to be 2 orders.

      • np. thx for the quick reply :)

  • +1

Op - any combine or deals with a charging adapter and/or cables?

Keen to get the full set in one special order.

  • +1

Had become a hoarder officially since discovered ozbargain

  • Chance of a combo deal with a QC charger like this or this?

    • I was thinking of doing a deal on this one.

      http://www.geekbuying.com/item/Qualcomm-Certified-Tronsmart-…

      • That'd be a good option too, although for some places like at work, 5 ports is overkill.

        • Charge your colleagues phones ;) My desk turned into the dedicated charging stand.

        • @Clear: Haha, I suppose that's one good use for it!

  • +1

    Got mine today, works well.

Pulling 0.8A on a galaxy s6, can't complain about that.

  • +1

Mine arrived yesterday, it does fast wireless charging with S7 (at least, it says S7 is saying it's doing fast wireless charging). My girlfriend is satisfied with the product and I am satisfied with how fast it came (took around 18 days?)
