LG Nexus 5X 32GB H791 $352.93 (White) $362.63 (Black) Delivered (Metro) @ DWI

960
5coupongoogle

Currently $369 for white and $379 for black at DWI, plus they have a current promotion of 3% OFF Stock Taking Clearance which brings it down to $357.93 and $367.63 respectively.

EDIT: Add coupon "5coupongoogle" for another 5 bucks off! $352.93 and $362.63

I know some people who purchased from previous kogan deals have mentioned receiving a H791 model, which is compatible with B28 700MHz, but it's not guaranteed.

Alternate deal to take advantage of $50 eBay voucher is the eBay link for the Nexus 5X 32GB Black from DWI which is more expensive at $387 but you get a $50 voucher, which some would say brings it down to $337. I do not say this. 32GB White from DWI also available for $368.10.

New Nexus' coming in a few months, but there's always a new phone "a few months" away.

Some specs if you want them:

  • 5.2 inches FHD (1920 x 1080) LCD Display (423 ppi)
  • 1.8 GHz hexa-core Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ 808 processor
  • 2 GB LPDDR3 RAM
  • 12.3 MP f/2.0 IR autofocus rear camera
  • USB Type-C Port
  • Android 6.0 Marshmallow
  • 2700 mAh battery

Also, LG G5 32GB Silver for $624.53 if you are so inclined.

46 Pcs of White model and 84 Pcs of Black model available as of 9:24PM AEST.

And yes, I do find the racism to be abhorrent. If there were a yellow version I'm sure it'd be $389

      White Power!

    • -1

thats almost 3/5ths of a white to black ratio

  • +1

Bugger. I bought one yesterday from them

  • Was scrounging around for further discounts and found that if you add "5coupongoogle" coupon in checkout you get another $5 off.

Not sure if there's any bigger discounts- I see the newsletter $10 coupon offer annoyingly pop up.

This or the extra 200ish for a G5?

    • Interesting- where can you get the G5 for $550ish? Cheapest is around $630, which you could say is getting to almost double the price of this.

Completely different phones in many ways, from size to features to quality. Playing around with it in store I felt the slight gap between the bottom module and rest of the phone on the G5 to be disconcerting.

      • Cheapest on ebay is $602 - $25 voucher and cashrewards is $569. Not exactly $550 but close.

Been pondering this as I wanted a nexus pure experience but we're only $200 apart between them

        • They've actually increased the price of g5 at t-dimension. It is now AU $620.89

  • how many more years would this model get updated with firmware?

    • +2

      Probably 2-3 years

My Nexus 5 from 2.5 years ago (October 31, 2013) is still getting updates.

    • +2

How long your Nexus will get updates

After a certain period, Google can no longer guarantee that a device will get version updates or security patches.
      Nexus devices receive:
      Android version updates
For at least two years from when the device became available on the Google Store.
      Security patches
For the longer of 3 years from availability or 18 months from when the Google Store last sold the device.

Device - No guaranteed Android version updates after
      Nexus 5X - September 2017

DWI ebay store has the white for $368.10 with 8 in stock
    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/321975878705

which may make it worthwhile for someone who wants the ebay voucher

    the black is still $387

  • Good deal, any suggestions for a cable/case for the 5X?

    • I got a Spigen case from ebay. Thin, fits well and protects the lens a bit.

  • Is this a grey import? Didn't know what to make of the kogan statement above?

    • +2

Kogan & dwi both are grey port.

      • Thanks for for the quick response

Battery 2700mAh and 2GB RAM? I would pass at this price. If this is something you want to carry for the next two years, I suggest you pay attention to these two things very seriously.

    • +1

you'd have to go with a chinadroid to get more at this price, and usually what they give you in ram they skim on in cpu/chipset … so have to consider the price point as well i think.

      • Just bought the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 pro prime for under AUD$210 from Aliexpress.
I am currently using one which I got for AUD$273 back in March.
The built quality is excellent for its price and the battery life is amazing.
The software that runs the camera is not the best, and this phone does not have 4g band 28.
I am on Telstra and without the band 28 I have got 101mbps as the highest download speed.
I am really happy with the phone so I got another one for my Dad.
        The specs are listed here:
        Metal Body, Fingerprint ID
CPU — Snapdragon 650 Hexa Core
        Screen — 5.5 inch 1920x1080p
        RAM+ROM — 3GB + 32GB (Support TF Card)
        Camera — 16MP Rear Camera,5MP Front Camera
        Battery — 4050mAh (Typ)

        • so basically you gave up 700mhz band and step down in the cpu for more Ram and Battery :) in the mid-range there's always trade offs… so (based on the specs) if you prefer a better cpu and need B28(700) i would go with this over chinadroids …

        • @scud70: cameras on the chinadroids usually poor.

        • @ubcool: couldn't comment .. i have not used china-droid phones :) also with the nexus you wont need to fish around for the latest ROM since you'll be one of the firs to get the latest from google. anyway just preference and what you need/comfortable with in this price range..

        • @scud70:
I am also awaiting for my shipment of 2 x Xiaomi Mi4c at AUD$150 each with the following spec:
          CPU: Snapdragon 808 Hexa Core
          Screen Size: 5.0 inch
          GPU: Adreno 418
          Resolution: 1920x1080 pixels
          Storage: 2GB RAM 16GB ROM
          Front Camera: 5.0MP
          Storage Extend: Not Support
          Rear Camera: 13.0MP
          Battery: 3080mAh Battery(Type)
SIM Card: Dual SIM,dual standby,2 Micro SIM Card Slot
          USB port: Type-c

Again it does not support band 28 but I will have to test the download speed when it arrives.

        • @he88388: Yep I was also looking at the Xiaomi Mi 4c- very similar to the Nexus 5X in many ways however the only 32GB versions I could find where in the high $200s. At the point I figured it's probably worth a bit extra for the 32GB Nexus 5X with B28, fingerprint scanner and more updates.

        • @johnn:
          Yeah you are quite right.
It was an impulse buy for me on the Xiaomi Mi4c (2g/16g).
It was the Snapdragon 808 which persuaded me to bit the bullet.
The 3g/32g version is still pretty expensive selling for around USD$200.
Its difficult to justify paying more than twice the amount for some extras for this Nexus.
We all have our own preferences.
In the end it is your money that you are spending.

        • @he88388: I actually missed that deal for AU$150, but would've probably made that impulse buy too :) Amazing deal, esp for those who will never use the space anyway (my parents)

        • @johnn:
Exactly, I am buying them for my parents in law.
So I think 16g is enough for their personal use.
At $150 for last year's flagship spec, you can't go wrong with Xiaomi Mi4C.

        • @scud70:

Band 28 yes. Better CPU no.

The Snapdragon 650 is roughly equivalent to 808 in performance and efficiency wise it completely destroys it. It also isn't a pocket heater like the 808.

      • And what's this? A lg-droid? err a koreadroid?

  • You can also get 3% off on the nexus 6P making it $649.

  • Im looking to upgrade from my Samsung Galaxy Note 4. Is this the go? Advise please

    • If you like big screens go with 6p. This will feel tiny compared to Note 4.

  • Is this the same like the Australian version? As far as I know, the Australian version is also version H791? Thank you.

    • Yes you're right, the Australian version is also H791- so it has Band 28 (700MHz) frequency.

This model however is sourced from HK, so it won't have an Australian warranty and may come with an international plug.

    Does this have 4g band?

  • code doesnt work anymore :(

    anyone got a new code?

  • Does the cable work with Australian power points?
