Free Mr Burger Burgers 12-2pm Fri 1st July [VIC Melb Central Store]

450

Well they may have cancelled the burgers for life promo, but they are giving away burgers for a 2 hour period at the Melbourne Central store on Friday between 12-2pm. When they opened in this location lines were relatively long, but most people got a burger.

Plus fill In a form on the day for a chance to win burgers for life. So at least 1 person will get the prize after all.

Winner of the free burgers for life was Sophie Tucker

So i changed my name for nothing? Everyone gets free burgers now?

    • It was just a farce!

    • -5

This afternoon, Mr Burger received a letter from no lesser authority than the Victorian Government Solicitor's office, saying it will not process any applications for people changing their name to “Burger” for the purpose of winning burgers.

      Um, no you didn't

      • +3

He probably did it in NSW.

      • So the government is deciding what name we can have now?

        • lol no, just two bad jokes

  • -6

Meh mr burger is over rated anyway.
    huxtaburger is much nicer.

    • +2

Not really overrated when you think of it as a free burger

        • Offended now.
I'm no more asians, I've changed my name to Burger!

          @joffie:
So, you're saying that Asians and Chinese should be excluded from all free food giveaways? What other races should we exclude or only include? Perhaps in the morning you should build a wall around Mr Burger and get them to pay for it.

Huxtaburgers are nice, but so, so tiny.

Lined up a few minutes before 12pm. Got the burgers at around 1:15. Kudos to the team of like 9 in a confined space pulling this one off

    • Those employees man… I wonder what morale is like there on these days

    • Considering you also get the chance at free burgers for life, I'm guessing 90 mins wait for a burger.

  • +6

So basically you are saving $10 but standing in a line for 1hour+ and good chance it will be freezing cold tomorrow. Sounds like someone with nothing better to do would do.

    • +1

That equates to less than $10 per hour. No thanks. Surely people aren't going to line up for 1 hour plus for 1 burger?

      • +12

hey, people line up for days to spend money at apple stores.

        • +1

This is something that would be really good for all the homeless in the city though, anyone who sees any should try make them aware of it.

        • +1

@yacman: Just what they want, a bunch of stinky people who won't ever come back :D

  • +2

Thanks OP - these burgers are good. Can't believe some people on here are complaining about freebies.

  • I don't want to wait over an hour for the free burger but I would like to enter the draw to win a burger for life. Wonder if you have to line for that

  • Great for homeless people who want a free lunch ……and if office workers don't want to be in the same line then it's a shorter line for homeless people.

  • Interesting to note that the original competition was 7 free burgers a week for life….the new competition is only 1 free burger a week for life.
Still worth waiting in line to enter this comp?

  • +2

Just walked past the line and its pretty huge down la trobe probably 100 - 150 ppls at a guess. 3 Security guards keeping watch aswell:)

  • +3

Line took about 30 minutes to get thru. Burger tasted GREAT!

If you want to enter the comp no need to line up just go the tables at the front and the cards are there to fill in.

  • Mr Layhey, have you heard about this?, Yes Randy if you do not win the free burgers for life everyone is going to……
