  • Have been on the look out for a good 360 degree camera deal for awhile now, but whilst this has great photo/video quality, is apparently quite hobbled if one doesn't have a recent Samsung flagship phone? :(

  • I played with a TabPro S at HN the other day. Screen was very pretty. Keyboard is better than SP4, and is included. The buttons on SP4 keyboard are too big and wide apart compared to a normal keyboard, so it felt unnatural to type with.

My issue with the TPS is that it only has one USB port, and it's Type-C. It's also the charging port, so you can't charge and have a USB device inserted at the same time.

I like the OLED screen more than the SP4's, despite being a lower resolution. It still looked great.

But I've heard from a review the screen dims itself after 1 minute of inactivity and this can't be shut off.

Also, no expandable memory unlike SP4.

Just in case anyone is interested in the stylus (C-Pen) that is compatiable with TabPro S.
Looks kinda meh ish to me, not really sure whether you can source it in Australia. I still don't understand why Samsung didn't use Wacom EMR instead.

    • That wacom pen is cool, and cheap. Do all capacitive devices support it, or does it require special built in support?

      • I have a strong doubt that it's a Wacom tech one. It's definitely not the Wacom pen that Note series come with (C pen requires battery). Don't think it's AES one either since I think Wacom AES pens are better than that.

I did hear that the pen kinda works with Galaxy series but not with iPhones or other Android devices (I think the guy on the video said it? Or I must've read that from a forum). I said kinda because from video, it did look like the pressure sensitivity doesn't work with the phone (not sure about the palm rejection, probably doesn't work?).

If you ask me, I still don't understand why they resorted to something like that. The stylus looks awful at best and they couldn't even release the pen with the tablet.

        • What about EMR? Will that work on anything?

I saw them for under $30.

        • +1

@lostn: Wacom EMR = S-Pen. It requires specific hardware for it to work. So would Wacom AES tech (they are in relatively new Windows tablets).

As far as I know, palm rejection + pressure sensitivity for devices that were not designed with those are finnicky and expensive and requries bluetooth connection. I remember few products specifically for iPads, that said, I can't remember any names. That said, all of them went north of $100 I think.

  • Been waiting for Australia availability. Thanks OP just bought one.
