Last year they changed the company that administers their gift cards. I had to ring up to get the balance. Can be checked in store though.

Anyone had success this time at rebel by buying gift card? I just bought one and didn't receive any confirmation from Amex. Usually the email comes through in 10minutes.

Yeah doesn't seem likely that it will come through. And I can't even show receipt to American Express coz it's a gift card..unless they accept just a transaction record from the ongoing credit card statement.
Got my email within a minute. Bought $50 GC at Westfield Doncaster on Saturday.
Update: Received credit in the statement, although no confirmation email.

Missed out on rebel offer. Was organising birthday party that day and 20000 all gone! Of course went to rebel and saw what I wanted to buy on sale yesterday ! Not happy :(
BP has told stations to stop selling giftcards.
I thought the deal finished on 14 July 2016 so doesn't matter now.

I have a welcome offer to receive $20 when I spend $40 or more at David Jones online. I'm seeing a theme here than I could buy a gift card and still have the cashback applied as they don't seem to check. Is this the case with DJs too?
A general question regarding statement credits - when an offer says it expires on a particular date (e.g. 04/08/2016), does that mean you can still make the purchase on that date (i.e. 04/08/2016) to get the statement credit?
Reason I ask is that the Rebel Sport one "expires" tomorrow - but I'm not sure whether we can still claim it tomorrow.
