Waiting for the plethora of questions such as
    -is this QC3.0?
-is the type C both ways?
    -does this have type C?
    -what about type D?
    -will this charge my Macbook?
    -will it jumpstart my car?

    • +2

Yup, any answers to those? :P

    • I wouldn't go as far as QC3.0, I'm just after QC2.0

  • OP, can you do any deals on this charger —> http://www.geekbuying.com/item/Qualcomm-Certified-Tronsmart-…

    • +3

Yeah sure. I'll get a coupon organised.

      • Awesome - looking forward. Thanks in advance

      • Second that. Keen to see USB wall charger on sale thanks Rep.

      • request #2 - OP can you also arrange any deals on mi band 2? =) =)

  • As a bit of an 'aside', I bought a ROMOSS powerbank via a deal that was posted here on OzB months ago, and it has proved to be awesome/very reliable ('Sense 6', Model No. PH80), despite being knocked around quite a bit! It has exceeded my expectations. I must say though, that I reckon its MOST USEFUL feature is the LCD that tells me how much charge (%) it currently holds. Personally, I would not even contemplate buying a powerbank that did NOT have this function. I find it odd that most powerbanks on the market do not have this function.

This one doesn't have an LCD showing how much charge it currently has OP, right? May I ask, what is the price of (and maybe a 'link-to'?) the model you are currently selling that does have an LCD that displays the remaining charge/capacity?

    • most of them have led dots that represent 25% increments

      • Actually 'most of them' don't have that feature, and in any case that feature is very different to an LCD that reports the % capacity remaining. It's about 'predictability'. If you are always 'guessing' as to how much charge remains in the unit (i.e. is it 48%, is it 27%, is it close to 0%?), that is very inconvenient / defeats the purpose of having the 'back-up' power source in some contexts; because you cannot rely on it / predict how long it will be active for.

        • Actually 'most of them' don't have that feature

They don't? You better tell the 20 ones that I have here (mostly Romoss or Mi) that they don't have power indicators.

I disagree, I've never had a problem working out battery capacity from the four indicator LEDs and I've used them extensively especially when travelling where we use them non-stop.

        • All the Romoss ones I have feature the LED dots, so I don't know what you are talking about.

It's really not that hard to tell how much charge is left with the LED dots. It's no different to the battery indicator on your phone. Yes, these days you can turn on the % indicator, but I don't and I've never been stuck with a flat battery yet. Apply common sense and it's easy.

        • what the hell are you doing that requires that much precision

        • What on earth are you babbling aabout? Almost ALL powerbans have a 4 x LED state of charge indicator. The powerbank in this deal has a 4 x LED power indicator just above the power switch on the side.

If you are always 'guessing' as to how much charge remains in the unit (i.e. is it 48%, is it 27%, is it close to 0%?), that is very inconvenient

If you are always fussing about how much charge remains in the unit (i.e. is it 48%, is it 27%, is it close to 0%?), that means you are being OCD about something that has token accuracy at best.

You do realise that, irrespecive if the precision of the 1% LCD display, your beloved screen doesn't have any accuracy whatsoever? You cannot accurately determine the amount of remaining charge in that way. In fact, it's pretty much impossible to determine it at all.

See, your powerbank contains a Boost Converter. This takes the voltage of the Lithium cell (which is between 3V 4.2V and increases it to 5V for teh USB port. That boost converter hasn't got good efficiency, and it's efficiency alters considerably depending on input voltage and output load. So, the amount that gets sucked depnds on how hard it gets sucked.

Hence, the fact that LCD says "40% remaining" means bugger all. You might have pulled half the capacity from it, or you might have run it off a light load over a long period and taken 65% out of it. The LCD cannot determine what amount has been taken, nor how much is remaining.

So the reason that most Powerbanks don't have LCD screens is because they add size (nobody wants a bulky battery) they add cost (who'll pay an extra $3 for the display?) and they are useless and inaccurate. You get the same level of accuracy from the 4 LEDs that most powerbanks have. On purpose, By design.

  • anyone know if this 10,000mAh is rated at 3.7V, not USB's 5V?
    …meaning I only get 7,400mAh at 5V.

Any deals on a quality QC2.0 Power Bank OP?

    Great deal btw

    • +4

Currently waiting on stock for quality QC2 power banks.

      • Would absolutely love to be able to purchase a QC2.0 (both ways) power bank of about 16000 - 20000mAh capacity at the moment.. Would be absolutely perfect for counteracting the battery-drainer that is Pokemon Go. And you'd probably get tons of new buyers for this very purpose! ;)

  • Hey OP do you have any short apple lightning certified cables? i'm looking for something that is 10-30 cm as carting around a metre of cable is a bit annoying

  • Hi OP,

I seem to have accidentally glitched your website.
I changed the price to AUD in the menu and added the power bank to the cart. I then added the coupon code and it showed my price as AUD 16.99! I can also confirm that PayPal shows it would credit AUD 16.99 from my account.

I don't want to con you guys out of money, so what should I do?

  • Is it safe to assume this supports pass through?

    • Yeah. All other ROMOSS do.

  • how long does shipping take? any tracking?

    • Up to 30 business days with tracking number provided.
