Not as good as this deal but pretty close for those who are in the market for a 1070. Comes with a good aftermarket cooler and a decent factory overclock (1822mhz core). Claimed to be in stock on July 9, so expect to receive the card in late July sometime if you choose the cheapest shipping option.

  • what is Gigabyte RMA policy if you buy from Amazon?

    • +1

      You'd have to send it back to the US, in which case Amazon will refund a certain amount of the postage fee (up to $15 I believe, but best to double check with one of their reps).

      • although this is probably true (never rma'd) amazon will usually just let you send it back to them and they'll replace it or refund you if you don't want to rma.

        I just had a chat with Amazon reps, there are two scenarios:-

        1.) There is a 30 days return window, if that lapses;
        2.) You have to deal warranty directly with the manufacturer, which I assumed Gigabyte Australia won't give a damn (grey imports?)

        So basically, you're (profanity) if the card is faulty within its warranty period (3 years for American region though, refer the link below). I have sent an email to Gigabyte for clarification if they service card if I bring it to local service center…

        Hmm, to spend extra $200 from local or just winged it…

          Just an update guys, got an official response from Gigabyte, so unfortunately, they do not provide service for grey import. Anyways, cancelled my Gigabyte and went to eVGA card instead. Hope this helps for those who decided to go ahead with Gigabyte.

        • Hey, do you know what the process is for the USA warranty? If this card is faulty within the 3 year warranty period am I able to send it to them in the US? I figure even if they only post to US addresses I could use a post box service to have it delivered to Australia.

        • @Lockdude: Not sure mate, I haven't actually have any experience with warranty but best to check with Amazon.

        • @cloudie9: Yeah, I'm checking with Amazon and Gigabyte =) Thanks for your help! Would you be interested in the answer once I find out?

          @cloudie9:

          Good move. Gigabyte, Asus, MSI, etc. don't provide grey import warranty in Australia, as they insist devices be sent back via their supplier channel for RMA.

          EVGA will provide you international warranty, but you'd need to pay for shipping to Taiwan yourself should you require RMA.

        • @Lockdude:

          All good mate, please see my responses above, I did manage to contact Amazon and Gigabyte and that's pretty much the responses I get is back to the point of purchase for after sales service. Still if you find conflicting info please do update us.

  • One of my pre-order back in mid June is set to ship on the 10th. Looks like most brands will have them in stock around that date.

    • May I ask… How many do you need ?

      • +2

        Strange question.

        • I think he's referring to you saying "one of my orders". One of many?

          I suppose it could be 4 cards going quad-SLI..

        • @Blackfyre: Nah, just a pre-order (singular). Habitual saying like one of my friend(s), still refers to 1 person.

          But still, that 1 order can have 1 or many cards.

  • I reckon it will be at least $AUD630 if you pay via Bankwest CC in USD. http://www.bankwest.com.au/calculators/foreign-exchange-calc…

    • If possible, use a card with no currency conversion fee like 28 degrees. Then calculate the exchange here: https://www.mastercard.com/global/currencyconversion/.

      • Bankwest Zero Platinum has no forex fee. 28degrees now (soon?) has a 90c bpay fee.

        • That is the card I'm using. Anyway, just changed to 28 degree but I am still hesitating with the after sales support (aka warranty).

        • @cloudie9: The only brand with better international warranty is EVGA. And last I checked you have to post those to Taiwan. (Maybe MSI too?)

          The gigabyte also isn't as likely to fail in the first place (anecdotally).

    Thanks OP decided to bite the bullet and order 1 worked out to be $620

    Still not worth the jump in that price range, by the time you purchase it, use it for 6 months it will be old and so much cheaper. With alot more new models coming out. Too much to waste, better to stick with 300-400 cards then upgrade every now and then. A lot of people play online games and it's better to play with adjustable graphics instead of playing with 16+ players and having your graphics maxed out on 4k displays. Even if you do play all your games at 4k and ultra settings. It's the adsl2 internet speeds which are the bottleneck here.
