Australian Made Gifts for The Visitors

Hi guys,

My relatives from the US are leaving in a few days, and I'd like to purchase a gift for them. Clothing, Uggs? maybe? I need something that is AUSTRALIAN made. No chinese b0llsh1t.

Please and thanks.

Im from sydney btw. NSW

  • Uggs - They won't care now that they're Aussie made, considering the fashion trend that went worldwide a few years ago

I'd say local wine if they have the room in their carry-on (and haven't bought any for themselves yet)

Otherwise local souvenirs are generally of opposite ends of the spectrum (imo) - either cheap tacky generic things, or jewellery with local pearls or gems.

my first thought was, what do they do with the rest of the roo's member?

  • Sheridan Football
    Tim Tam Adriano Zumbos
    Redskins and Chicos
    Willi (boomerang) thongs
    Vegemite

  • Boomerang?
    Akubra Hat?
Stuff with Aboriginal Paintings - such as these?

Golden Boronia nougat http://www.golden-boronia.com I'm not usually a nougat fan but I could eat a whole bag of this

didgeridoo - uniquely Australian, can be ornamental, won't take up much space in their home, fairly robust for transport - just bubble wrap it well, and they'll have at least 2 minutes of good fun trying to get a sound out of it

A real didg is $500-700 though

The $100-200 didgs are mass produced crap.

  • Thanks guys. The suggestions given were great but it doesnt seem to click the remote control.
What about sheeps skin blanket or aomething or an ornanment. Something not too big.

Theyre leaving this Saturday. Looks like i am in the dumps. Dont know what to get

    • Sheep Skin blanket sounds like a great idea!
Australian wool product - yeah … very practical too.
Or sweater etc made of Australian wool. Or cool wool stuff.

  • Lucas pawpaw? I know it's small, but it's what all my relatives ask for when I go overseas!

  • How about Tuffys & Tuffets undies?

Excellent quality, Australian-made, everybody needs them.

    • Cadbury Marvellous Creations (I took some for a friend in USA, and when she came to Australia she wanted to buy more to take home)
    • Buderim Ginger Marmalade - http://shop.coles.com.au/online/national/buderim-spread-ging…
    • Bundaberg Ginger Beer or soft drinks (little bulky perhaps)
    • Leatherwood Honey (can be hard to find)
    • Macadamias (there are all different sorts)
    • Souvenir fridge magnets
