  • Just picked up the Navig8r G35 price matched @ Officeworks. $64.60. Easily patchable to run other GPS software if so desired.

  • LOL @ the 68$ looks like a toy guess it does the job.

  • Which OfficeWorks (suburb) pricematched it?

    • +2

You should be able to get this by printing out the price from the HN web site and taking it to any Officeworks. The reason I pricematch from officeworks is because its convinient, close to where I live and saves the hassle of travelling further to other stores.

BTW Deewhy Officeworks was the store I went to.

      • Does yours call up the store to make sure there are stocks?

        • I don't know. I was in the store, asked if they had stock. Then showed the printout of the price to match. Basically the sales person went away and came back 5 mins later with the ok to price match.

    • +2

be very much surprised if any officeworks staff member will actually take 5% off when both products are the same price. the policy is that if a competitor has it cheaper we will beat it by 5%. 68 dollars is the same price, so i am not sure what you are complaining about.

  • i got a tomtom one australia at DSE underwood today for $71. they are having a clearance sale and closing down. its my first gps purchase i'm not sure if i got a bargain or not since its the tomtom one 30 series which is old . maybe i should take it back and get the Navig8r GPS-G35 - $68 at hn? anyone know how both campare?

  • yeah no

    laser gps are no frills

they are fine for the gps hackers on austech but not for normal people

    any cheap 4.3"?

  • hi.im thinking to get for my sis' bday in june.would this be a good time.
and i have no idea bout this thing.
she's in adelaide..does she have to pay for the map or something?
which one for under 100 aud and female user? hehe
    thanks

  • WTF! After agonizing for ages & hunting the best deal, 2 weeks ago I finally buy only to see prices plummet immediately after :( Typical!

  • For everyone wondering about the $68 NAVIG8R - I bought one off Catch of the Day 2 weeks ago as I wanted a standalone GPS (previously relying on Google Maps on my phone) and it works fine. It has spoken street names, easy to use, speed alert, camera alert and guaranteed current map and free map upgrades when they come out. The screen might be a tiny bit small, but it has turn by turn directions for you to listen out for anyway. We had a Tom-Tom on a Windows Mobile phone about 3 years ago and I liked their operating system too, but for more than double the price I would still stick with the Navig8r.

  • catch of the day have the Navig8er G35 3.5" Portable GPS for $59.95 plus shipping . is it the same as the HN model? will OW price match catch of the day? can it be up graded free in the future or just within 30days of purchase? should i wonder if this is a better deal and if i should take back the tomtom one australia 30 series model i got for $71 back to DSE? btw i also picked up a portable WD 250gb Hdd for $40 at underwood dse, theres 4 left if anyone is interested. http://www.catchoftheday.com.au/smallfish_info.php?products_…

  • just got one of the 1300 + 1 year extended warranty…a bargain.since rrp was 230

  • tomtom xl360 2 yr extended warranty227

  • the Catch of the day deal is $59.95 + $6.95 postage = $66.90

You should be able to get pricematch from any advertised or online price in Australia @ OW. If its COTD print the price out and if the deal is still valid, they will take 5% of the price but will then include/add web site shipping to the final discounted price. So a COTD pricematch will come to $63.90 or $64.90 with a HN pricematch.

  • Just picked up a G35 from Office Works for $57. I told them HN is selling them for $60. They didnt even verify it, seems they didn't care. Just took it for a 40minute drive and it works fantastic! I deliberately got lost and went off route to see how it recalculated routes. Didnt take long to recalculate. Very happy with the unit. Also I copied an avi movie to test it out. Works like a treat. Cant wait to put on some other nav software for dual shell boot.

    • Any guides for doing this? Did a quick google and couldn't find anything.

Had the navig8r running as well. Bundled maps are very old (10 November 2009) and trial speed alerts (23 Oct 2009)

Only had two problems. Don't know if it was me or gps. Navigator shutdown during use with error message. Demo froze and had to turn of gps. Also found the bundled software is very limited. So prefer to load TomTom or one of the other better software which I have used. Im a tomtom fan. So much better.

        TomTom for Windows CE
        Garmin XT for win CE5
        IGO8 for windows CE.

Software needed get v3 and also v2 (for the extra icons it contains)

Before installing make sure to backup existing MobileNavigator folder on GPS. After backup make sure to rename existing MobileNavigator folder before installing the personalised replacement menu system.

And head over to the Austech.info GPS forum for all the other info maps and software you need. Sign up if your not a member.

        • you have the demonfatal files. Cant seem to find them anywhere.

          • @mehow: No. I got software elswhere. Managed to install both Garmin Mobile XT and Tomtom Win CE. Both booted and ran file. Problem was that neither of the GPS applications would detect the internal GPS receover. Ended up returing the G35 for a refund. For my money, even if you have to pay more for the GPS I would stick with TomTom. I have old 1st gen 4.3" tomtom. Although the CPU is slow 266mhz. Works perfectly. Easily the best software for GPS. Easy to patch and update.

    • Which suburb was this Officeworks in?

  • Funny thing happened to me today @ HN Weribee - I saw a guy pay $178 for the TOMTOM START, because that was the price on the box. But then I asked if it shouldn't be $148 (for me - because that was the price online), the looked, said 'oh yes', re-wrote the price and away I went with it @ $148. Poor guy that paid $178 and a lesson to learn - check first!

  • Darn miss out on this. Seen a good price on 4.3" GPS (prefer TomTom) anywhere?
