    $159 at normal Warehouse1 site

If you use that logic may have well Paid an extra $20 for a 1tb hdd from the same company

        http://m.ebay.com.au/itm/HP-812127-375-ML10v2-G3240-4GB-1TB-…?

        • You got free delivery so didn't overpay that much.

        • @RobMel: who negged you! Love gadgets and everyone knows it will always be cheaper one day. Enjoy it (or cancel and reorder) :)

      • +2

Need to add delivery cost, it is $20.95 for me, still cheaper.

      • I got this same product from Warehouse1 in their Bourke St store without a problem and from what I can see, they might become my preferred store after SE. I wouldn't have an issue in buying from them online as well.

      • +1

Bought directly from their site, using bank deposits no worries, plus cheaper.

It does have a vga port. Two usb3 in the back an two usb in the front. May be useful as a cheap PC.

    • The VGA port is connected to a delightful Integrated Matrox G200 though.

Have been as low as $99 recently.

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/255264

    • +2

Supposedly that was a pricing error though. Lucky people who got it.

      • +4

Not sure why you said supposedly a pricing error. Warehouse One confirmed on that page that $99 was a pricing error in a comment at https://www.ozbargain.com.au/comment/3839131/redir …. $159 is a great deal, but $200 incl shipping isn't.

Despite what they say, the internet is full of conspiracies.
          Maybe…
          - it really was a bait and switch to increase sales before end of financial year
          - maybe it really was a pricing error due to a technical problem
          - or perhaps, they were hacked and the hackers wanted to buy a cheap server
          - we live in the OzBargain-Matrix and this reality doesn't exist, there is no spoon nor ML10v2
          - the government wanted to buy heaps of ML10v2 servers to store all our metadata
          - I'm drunk and am talking $#@!

  • This deal sucks 💩

  • +8

Cheaper at the Warehouse1 website. Even after shipping.

  • +2

Now the OP will be haunted with the fact that they could've got it cheaper.

    • ironically the same store too

      • +1

Remember that there are costs associated with Ebay listings and PayPal payments as well. Sometimes people forget about it but they can be a burden for a new business.

    • I think he will be "more" haunted by the fact that a simple search on staticice would avoid the "fact" (http://www.staticice.com.au/cgi-bin/search.cgi?q=hp+ml10+v2&…)

    • for $220 it could've came with a 1TB HDD from the same seller

      • +1

If you plan on getting the one with 1TB, wouldn't the deal from pclan at $199 (shipped) be better ?

Of course you could always take out the 1TB HDD and use it somewhere else…so basically the HDD only costs $199-$159 = $40 which is not too bad.

      Why was I negged, hmm.

  • To confirm. I can get this, install a SSD state (as an example), buy Windows 10 (install it) and use it connected to my TV as a media PC for netflix etc? Or a normal PC connected to a monitor?
I see other posts fort server/NAS and get a bit confused.

    • "Yes". I bought one a month ago with the 4 6TB WD Red Drives for $1575. It will work are a normal PC. Would I recommend as HTPC? No, it's big, clunky and depends what you plan to do (transcode?) fan will be noisy.

      • you need a video card with hdmi

the base video sucks with only vga

    • Keep in mind that the fan is pretty noisy.

    • To confirm. I can get this, install a SSD state (as an example), buy Windows 10 (install it)

      Yep, no problem

connected to my TV as a media PC for netflix etc

      Ewwww… NO no no.

Or a normal PC connected to a monitor?

Errr, sort of but you wouldn't want to.

I see other posts fort server/NAS and get a bit confused

It's a FILE SERVER, not a PC. It serves files and other behind the scenes utility tasks. It is not a PC that anybody would want to actually sit down and "use". Servers usually don't even have a screen on them.

Properly have to get some SATA cables.

… for all in tents and porpoises.

    • +1

      As a matter of emergency.

    • Funny you mentioned that since it comes with connectors for 4 HDDs but you need to buy two extra SATA cables for the 2 "DVD" bays.

  • Recently build a windows 10 both with raid 1 for files backup. added a video card and SSD. quite suitable. takes a long time to boot. Drivers can be a pain to find and install for certain configs.

  • OP it's only been a few hours, you can probably request to cancel your order. and get the cheaper one, or at least get the free 1TB Hard Drive for an extra $20. it's not too late to fix your mistake.

Overpriced item + arrogance = neg

  • +1

Warehouse1 direct has them cheaper, this is no real special,.

  • I was looking for this server, but i dont see what deal is?

  • 2 lessons learned:
I previously thought would be fun to meet other OzBargainers. Changed my mind, not a fan of fence sitters.
Never post a deal. someone will find it somewhere cheaper and neg you. Not worth the hassle.
In future I will just look for deals and if I find one share with friends who appreciate it and accept that it may not the best deal of the world, just a good price.
Thank you for helping me learn another life lesson.

    • Don't get too disheartened, most of us appreciate the effort, that's why I didn't neg you but just pointed out where you can find it cheaper.

    • -1

You were doing perfectly fine until you came back with your whining negative post.

Go and put on your big girls underpants, and then come back and join us.

    • +1

someone will find it somewhere cheaper and neg you

      That's whole point of OzBargain.

We want to know where the get the same item for the cheapest price…

If you are going to take -ve votes personally, you should either not post, or go see a counsellor to get over your insecurities…

  • +1

Just can't understand why so many people get upset because of a down vote. I've got more than 1000 negative votes since I joined this site. I couldn't care less and I'll continue posting deals and comments whether they like it or not.
