it doesn't appear in your Gift Card balace, it's deducted from a purchase fulfilled by Amazon.

  • Thanks

Rarely do these things apply to UK customers only.

    • +1

I got the free credit confirmation email straight after signing up - haven't tried to apply to an order yet but can't see why it wouldn't work.

  • Thanks OP. Signed up for a 30 day free prime trial, then signed up for the 3 month free audible trial.

  • How hard is it to cancel? Does the 10 quid come with an expiry date?

    • Promotional credit expires at 11:59 p.m. (GMT) 90 days from receipt.

    • +3

Easy to cancel, go to audible.co.uk and login using your Amazon account details, click on your name on the top right, then account details and you can cancel from there. (You may have to override the auto redirect to the Audible AU store)

When you do go to cancel it offered me another free token to use if I stayed, so if you're actually intending to use Audible for entire trial period that's an added bonus!

      • or delete your credit card details from amazon.co.uk

      • Ooo we are missing a step.

I'm on the Audible UK site, I'm logged in, under Hello AccountName I click on Account Details. Where do I go from there to cancel? I feel like I have tried every option on that page and I'm not seeing the word cancel anywhere let alone any other options to unsubscribe. Not sure how we could be seeing something so different or what is obvious that I am missing.

        • I think it's under the: Account Information header where it says membership plan? Sorry my one looks different because i've already cancelled.

        • @asmcar:

          hmmm thanks for trying.

this is bad I'm getting pretty nervous. If I force the Audible UK site it lets me login but then redirects to AU when I go to Account Details.

It seems to force redirect me to .com.au as soon as I login. Changing it to .co.uk takes me to the same default front page and my account still logged in. Then if I click Account Details it redirects to the UK site

/edit/ it should be fine though. I might just have to email them or call them or something

          /edited/

ok I get it now. click the blue banner at the top that asks if you really want the UK site

    What to buy??

  • how can we search on amazon.co.uk which items can be shipped to Aus?

    • +2

Normally once you have searched an item in the refine options on the left there is a check box for international shipping.

      • thank you

  • I didn't receive the email for the 10 pounds, anyone else not get it?

    • +2

yep. came through within a minute

    • I didn't either not sure why

    • I also haven't got one…. Very annoying.

    • I haven't received an email confirmation either! WTF!!!

  • I think this is based on the credit card used?
ie. If you used the same credit card, then then Amazon will mark you as existing customer?

  • Removed [got it working]

  • If we cancel prime straight away - will the 10 pounds still be available?

    • yes. i'm considering putting through an order and am at check out with 10 pounds showing. - cancelled prime 30 minutes ago

  • Signed up for Prime trial and 10 pounds credit is showing already. Was holding out until the The Grand Tour (aka Top Gear 2.0) starts on Amazon but this deal is too tempting. LOL

    • You have to give payment options for BOTH the Prime trial, & then the Audible trial right? But the subscriptions for each (along with payment details) can be removed immediately yet the trials for each continue for the duration? I assume this is how its done?

  • Any good deals to buy from Amazon uk?

  • +2

Received an email confirming £10 credit.

    EDIT
£6.12 (ex VAT) 32GB SD http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B012GNQI5Y card for free…. but £11.17 (A$19.88) to post (standard) to Australia! What a joke.

The same product at Amazon.com with standard post to Australia is A$20.33 in total with no discount.

    • +1

That's my experience too — this just equates to "free express post on amazon.co.uk". Unfortunately they are more expensive than amazon.com too

  • +1

bought the SanDisk SDSSDHII-480G-G25 Ultra II SSD for £78.43/AU$135 delivered

almost at the 25cent per GB rate

    • Got my eye on this too! Just haven't received my 10 pound credit yet!

      • yeah, just received a 240gb SSD for my macbook pro as an upgrade. but might hold off installing it as primary drive and use this one instead.

        • I just bought a lenovo thinkpad i7 with 'spinning rust' so need to swap it out for something!

  • registered other way round .first audible and then to prime. am i eligible to get the 10 pounds?

    • No I do not believe you are - you need to be prime at the time of registering for Audible to be eligible.

  • Sweet! Thanks OP, not sure why I need it but just got the 16GB Nvidia Shield TV for about $185~ posted

    • The combination of the exchange rate and this deal make for some tempting purchases!

      • Tell me about it, probably would have thrown a fire stick in there too at $40~ if they shipped to Australia!

    • Ended up being $193 posted - still not so bad!

      • Weird, when I try adding it to cart it says that 'Deal has ended' (but I'm still able to get to checkout normally). I remember that in the morning it said 'Added to Basket' when I attempted to add it to cart. You sure the deal is still up?

        • Bought it about 5 mins before I posted my comment and it's all been confirmed and card charged! Used my 28Deg card

This is the item I bought: https://www.amazon.co.uk/NVIDIA-Shield-Android-Box-Controlle…

          @XeKToReX:

Looks like it's working now, nice :) Seems like Amazon are restocking their items.

        • @XeKToReX: Did you get the 10 pounds off as well? Doesn't seem like its working for me

        • @songfish:

Yep, just added it to the cart like anything else, not sure why you guys are having issues..

Any digital items (Credit, Download codes, etc) able to use this credit?

  • Can I cancel both Prime Trial and Audible Trial right now and continue to use them for next 30 days?

    • +2

you can't cancel your prime for up to 3 days after trial. Something about verifying your payment method. but you should be able to do once it's verified.

      • On the US version you could cancel immediately and still use it all month.

      • I just started and ended the trial in the same day. definitely on amazon.co.uk and not the US version

  • its like 110.95 GBP. that's 197 AUD. How did you get 185?

    • Turned out to be $193 posted on a 28 Degrees Card.

I have no need for the remote as I have a Harmony but if you want the remote, probably best to wait for it to drop with a free remote again.

      • Cheers. its still a better deal if you order remote. I ordered shield and remote for £145.55 which is $250. With shield remote bundle (USD 199) and USD 20 shipping it comes to $285. so its a saving of $35 :)

  • +1

anyone found any good bargains to use the credit on?

    • +1

      nope

    • I think the real benefit is if you're already looking to purchase something (Or if some more good deals come up as Prime Day UK continues. If you're looking to purchase something small for 'free' then shipping will pretty much always kill the deal.

      • I guess I will cancel the prime membership later then. Maybe something of interest will come up.

  • +4

These folk asking "any deals to spend the credit on?". Just hold onto it for something you really need. It isn't going anywhere, don't just spend it on anything on a whim because it was free.

    • Hold onto it for 3 months, before it expries!

      • wait..the trial expires in 3 months but I thought your 10 squid lasts as long as your account is open

        • Did you read the 10 quid email?

        • @Turd:

Not until I can get home but I know what its going to say now. Spoiler alert :/

Nah good looking out for that 3 month expiry. I might have to see if Amazon will apply it retroactively to my Seagate hdd purchase from this morning

        • @hetzjagd:

          Too Late

  • prime didn't activate properly for m, Then i signed up to audible right after and I'm getting
Thank you for signing up for Amazon Prime. Your membership should be active in a few minutes. If you continue to receive this message, please contact Customer Service.

So i think i screwed up and not getting the money :(

    • you can always register a new account :)

    • I'm guessing it should be fine seeing as the instructions say you can't apply for Audible until you have Prime. The activating of Prime is probably a formality or something that will lock the account if you don't do it within a week or two. I think the voucher is issued as part of joining Audible, so a Prime account in stasis shouldn't get in the way of that.

    • Same thing happened to me. Had to go to the chat on the audible website and get them to add the 10 pounds to my account. Prime still hasn't activated for me, but the 10 pounds is there now.

  • +4

    Thanks OP.

    1) Welcome to amazon prime
    2) welcome to audible
    3) used the 10
    4) sorry to see you leaving audible
    5) are you sure you want to cancel your prime

    ;)

    Postage & Packing: £11.89
    Total before VAT: £24.98
    VAT: £0.00
    Promotion Applied: -£10.00

Is that right? The voucher doesn't even cover postage? If I bought the same thing from amazon.com, even without voucher, the total price was only $1 more

  • +1

At first got excited but then I realised all the effort required

    • +1

I already had an amazon account and it took me all of a couple of minutes total to sign up for the Prime trial and then to work out where I am supposed to go to be offered the Audible trial (I just searched for it like I would any product on there. The product page refers to the offer if you found the correct one).

That said, whether I stuffed it up and was supposed to wait for an email and activate Prime before registering for the Audible trial - I will have to wait until I can get home and access my email to find out

      • +1

All that said I'm now unable to unsubscribe from Audible so this is approaching a point where it was more hassle then worth it 0_o

  • -1

I signed up to Prime and then Audible for the $10. I've cancelled the Audible subscription but I can't find a place to cancel my Prime subscription. Help would be appreciated!

    • +1

When you click on your name top right of Amazon UK and the drop down menu appears there should be a section named "prime settings". I'm out at the moment but will try give better instructions once home.

      • Thank you!

    • Took a while to figure out how to cancel audible, but got it in the end.

  • +1

Crap. I just bought this yesterday https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/256781

Would be a good deal to apply this to.

    • Amazon are known to have good to fantastic customer service, especially in regards to matters of experience/satisifaction like this. Jump on Amazon, go through the different options (I don't remember them exactly) to get you through to your preferred avenue for customer support (I recommend the online real-time text chat) and then explain to them you want to apply a voucher you just received to a purchase you made just yesterday. If they can do it they probably will.

      • I'll give this a go but might be a long shot since the order was dispatched already. Will let you know. Thanks.

      • +1

Update: Being the ozbargainer I am. I cancelled the previous order. (thank goodness the parcel had not left the UK) And placed a new order including the credit effectively paying about $84 this time. Sweet deal and thanks!

        • Nice one ozbruv!

  • +1

Got Futurama Seasons 1-8 for ~ $19 delivered with the code. Thanks OP!

  • Used my 1 Audible credit on "Alien: Out of the shadows" then went to cancel, stating too expensive, and they gave me another free credit :D. So might as well get two free audio books before you cancel.

    • but u get 1 free credit each month as part of the 3 month free audible trial so you should really end up with 3 free audiobooks before u cancel

      • Yes true I am going to keep the membership and cancel just before 3 months is up. They have some good audiobooks. I am listening to Alien at the moment.

  • It seems coles prepaid card is not accepted for prime membership ??

    • +1

      Worked for me

    • +1

      worked here

  • I actually am more interested in the 3 month Audible trial than the 10 pounds.

Question: I have downloaded the Audible iOS app, but it appears to be hooked in to the audible.com.au marketplace rather than the audible.co.uk market place. Is it possible to force switch this over?

    • +1

Me too, same problem with the Android app? Anyone know how I can access the audiobooks I download from UK Audible?

      • I ended up downloading the app on the PC, expecting it to download a DRM free file. However, it is very much DRM… And to top it off, the download manager feels like it was made for Windows 3.1 - so yucky.

  • also , as kwijybo states

"£5 credit with £30 gift card purchase on Amazon UK"

so, buy the gift voucher and sign up for audible and get £15 credit (approx AU$25)

  • Can the credit be used on the US store?

    • no
