Created by world-renowned speaker engineer Andrew Jones, the SP-TS22A-LR bookshelf Dolby Atoms speaker topper offers extraordinary performance and remarkable quality to deliver a phenomenal music and home theater experience.

A cheap and alternative method of achieving Dolby Atmos at home without buying the real expensive tower speakers. I've been waiting for the price drop on this again. It's usually US$200 and has only hit US$99.99 a few times. It has favourable reviews for it's quality and budget price.

It's a real shame that JB HiFi don't stock Dolby Atmos speakers even though they sell Atmos-enabled receivers. A lot of movies are moving to Atmos and some shows are as well, starting with Game of Thrones (steelbook releases).

  • Looks so tempting! I would jump on this deal if my Yamaha RX-379 receivers supported Atmos :-(

  • Nice find! So you if have a great 5.1 setup already should you just get the $99 atmos set? As I believe the other $170 are 2 sets of speakers basically?

    • I just confirmed that the ones I posted come in sets of TWO. Here is a snipped conversation I had with Amazon.

Dagmar: I need to know whether or not there are 2 speakers included in the order.
Diane: I've checked the item and verified it will come of two speaker.
Dagmar: Do you mean "with" instead of "of"?
Diane: Instead of 1 speaker the order will arrived two speaker.
Dagmar: Thank you, Diane. I look forward to receiving two speakers

I cannot say for sure if Atmos would be suitable for 5.1 Usually it's 5 speakers and then 2 Atmos speakers. Bluray.com would be a great place to ask.

    • Yes, you only need the $99 Atmos set, the &170 set is if you want to have only one "box" for your front left and front right each, which will have in-built Atmos add-ons.
edit: to properly address your question, yes, they are two sets of speakers basically :)
