Bank of Melbourne $200 Cashback after $500 spend on Vertigo Credit Card (VIC only?)

200

Saw this promotion when I visited the BoM branch at Burwood East. Can't find any details online unfortunately.

Spend $500 with a new Vertigo or Vertigo Platinum Credit Card before 30 October 2016 and get $200 cash back.

Apply in branch. Not sure if you can apply online or over the phone.

Annual Fees: Free if you're an existing customer. If not, just apply for a free transaction account. And then hey presto, you become an existing customer.

They're the go to bank when you want to save for a rainy day.

Banks are generally fair-weather friends, So, who is going to throw caution to the wind? As for me, I'll take a rain check.

PS. Hope I didn't steal your thunder.

Good deal +1 might give it a go after my success with CBA's cashback, thanks!

    • Good reminder, forgot to mention annual fees. Although having spoken to someone at the branch, it's pretty easy to get around the annual fee. Just ask to open an everyday account before applying for the credit card.

  • Website says $0 annual fee if you are an existing BoM customer when you click through link on the web (under credit card section). Wonder if that clicking through that link excludes you from the cash back offer….

      Have updated the description :)

  • BoM must be desperate to expand their customer base, giving out $50 for opening the Complete Freedom bank transaction a/c and now $200 for the Vertigo credit card.

    • Everyday banking is becoming increasingly competitive. What with all the referral credits, cash backs and other offers. Great for us the consumer though!

  • BankSA are doing the same deal, plus two adult tickets to the Royal Adelaide Show. In branch applications only and you have to mention CB. Linky

They are also doing cashback offers with free show tickets on various bank accounts as well, same link.

Was told I couldn't get the annual fee waived, and the $200 cashback. I could only get one or the other.

    • thanks for update :)

  • Thanks OP! I managed to get the annual fee of $55 waived + $200 cashback.
This was done at the Melbourne Central branch

    • How long did it take to get the cashback?
