Optus Business Plan-iPhone 6s 16 GB with 4.5 GB Data & 200 Int Minutes for $70/mnth (First 2 Months Fees off) @ Optus

60

ABN required for this business plan. The link does not fully explains the plan features, so had to talk to Optus rep and this is what he told:

  1. iPhone 6S 16 GB
  2. $ 70/ month plan with first two months free (no paying $70 for 2 months)
  3. 4.5 GB data
  4. Unlimited talk/sms nationawide
  5. 200 International minutes and unlimited sms to selected countries (selected countries mentioned in link)
  6. Option to swap for a new one after 12 months for $99
  7. Total to pay over 24 months-$1540
  8. Free EPL

Hopefully the best Iphone postpaid offering at the moment for business users. The rep just asked if I have ABN and then straightaway offered a contract to sign without asking ABN number or verifying it. If someone can confirm using employer's ABN is fine, that would be great.

Enjoy

  • How is this a deal? $70/month for a 16gb of soon to be replaced phone?

You don't get it. This is an iPhone. No matter how high the costs are, it's a bargain!

Normal consumer price for Optus with this phone is $80 per month with only 3.5GB data, so it's fair to say it's a deal. I agree that it's still too expensive.

  • @OP: "If someone can confirm using employer's ABN is fine, that would be great."

The service has to be in the same name as the ABN. So if your employer is happy to do this, they can take up the contract and make you an authorised person for the account. It would need to be arranged by someone who is authorised to enter into a contract on behalf of the business. Usually a Director. If it's a Sole Trader, then it has to be the Sole Trader themselves who enters into the contract.

What you can't do is have the service in your name under another ABN - The ABN and the ownership of the account have to be the same.

OP - EPL is only free for the first year on this plan, $15 per month for the second year if you want it.

Better value is the Samsung Galaxy S7 on the $90 plan, with $20 off per month and 2 months free. Exactly the same cost over 24 months, but because it's the $90 plan you get 8GB of data and EPL for the whole 2 years. Plus you get a better phone with 32GB, SD slot, better camera, and no iTax.

    • It's indeed a better phone, but half of my family is brainwashed by Apple, this is the best iPhone deal these days.

      • Perhaps. I was considering the iPhone. On the $90 Optus plan ($440 more over 2 years) you can get the 6s with 128Gb (128Gb and 64Gb are the same price at the moment), 8gb of data, 400 international minutes and 2 years of EPL. That's the one I'd choose.

But yes - the only reason I was considering the iPhone was to give it to my wife (also brainwashed, but what can you do?) while I then get a Chinese cheapie.

  • Get this plan then sell the phone
