"The wireless issues with the E1200v2 are very real and even make dd-wrt unusable on this router for certain things. Since you brought this up I'll tell you what I know without going into any techy details. Certain wireless protocol will completely confuse this router. I have seen the same issues on the E2500 and the WNDR3700v3 but was very rare and only in a couple dd-wrt builds and no I don't remember which.
I have not found a dd-wrt build, including the 18946 for the E1200v2 suitable for me to use as my main router."

Pass. I need reliable hardware at home. Not this headache.

      • I'm sorry, but I don't think being able to load custom firmware determines the reliability of a router.

        • I'm sorry but I was replying to someone that was asking about DDWRT.

For me, I won't run anything but Tomato or DDWRT because I want that level of control. In fact I need it in order to configure DNSMasq parms thanks to faulty firmware in my Telstra cable gateway device. So I said I'll pass because I don't need the headache.

Thanks for playing. Please troll again.

I bought the E1200 + two of the Linksys USB Wifi-N's….

I currently use my E1500 as a wireless bridge & getting the E1200 as a spare.

    :)
