Not too many reviews on this. USD$243.86 delivered which worked out at $AUD328 if your card does not charge conversion fees.

One review showed that it is faster than the flip C100 from same manufacturer.

Here is a review https://youtu.be/AJ-uOCTKdN4

It is using N3060 CPU and has 4GB of ram. Octane score of more than 8700.

If you need a bigger screen that is one 13 inch C300SA which is at USD $199 plus delivery.

Title could use some better formatting. Might look at this for the parents though, thanks.

You are correct that it is designed to have strong protection against drops or water spilling onto the keyboard. Considering its better cpu and memory resources it is also suitable for clumsy parent like me.

  • Yes Celeron N3060 is a little bit faster than RK3288. I am getting ~7400 Octane score on my C100 Flip. However you do get touch screen, 360 degree hinge to turn to tablet mode, etc. Whereas C202 is mainly sold to school students I guess with its "spill-resistant keyboards, and reinforced rubber wrapped frames".

    • I was thinking about getting the C100 too. Hard to decide. Some will find the extra $20 is worth the touch screen though less powerful CPU.

  • Thanks for posting this. I'm currently looking for a laptop for my 5th grader. I haven't used Chromebook myself but the review and price of this particular model really grab my attention. I know I need to do my research but just curious on what people think about Chromebook nowadays.

Look for 99% of the population it's great, unless your going to do some video editing or programming, your general tasks will be great as long as you get use to the chromebook way.

It requires an internet connection to work properly and many reviews contain tales of this being very annoying when you have no internet connection. The device is intended to be connected at all times for normal usage.

It's a device created by a massive online advertising business that attempts to collect every piece of data it can about the user and anything connected to the device (via network, location or sensors). This is collected in order to target the device user with marketing including online advertising. In 2015 Google started an aggressive campaign in order to serve more advertising to children with the Youtube Kids platform and (apparently) a "kid friendly" version of the Google Chrome browser.

Part of the data collection effort involves cheap devices running the Android operating system and Chromebooks that "encourage" one to be constantly connected.

Not too many reviews on this.

That's a good thing IMO :D … going on the reviews of lay people a day or two after they've recieved the product and fake reviews isn't a good thing.

  • Steam? What kind of youtube videos can it handle up to? Looking for a portable streaming device. Tossing between this and a 1080p 8-10" tablet. Obviously no steam on an android or iOs tablet. Surface pro yes but that might be heading into "cheap" semi decent "gaming" laptop territory.

  • Another look alike of MBP. I don't understand why even these big name PC brands trying to copy Apple's MBP. That's a shame.

    • Does it look like mbp? If it looks like mbp then mbp just a copy of those old laptops before the iPod days. You can have a taste of the unique look through the review.
