The Guvera music streaming service and app is closing down this week. We can confirm that we have another offer around music which will be in market before this offer expires. You can stay tuned to our Facebook page or Twitter to make sure you’re in the know when it launches.

What does that mean for the 1GB bonus?

We can confirm Virgin Mobile is still committed to providing our Postpaid mobile customers with the ONE B1G G1G offer until 2nd November 2016. Customers who have already signed up and received the bonus 1GB, at least once, will continue to do so until 2nd of November 2016.

How do I get the bonus 1GB?

If you have previously received the bonus 1GB at least once, you will automatically receive a bonus 1GB on the 1st day of your billing cycle until the offer ends on 2nd of November 2016.

Does the bonus data roll over?

It sure does. If you’re on a plan that currently has Data Rollover then your bonus 1GB of data will also roll over.

Edit: seems the app has been removed from the App Store, so you must have already downloaded it (or you can still get it from AppCake or another app store).

Edit 2: Not sure what time Guvera shuts down today, but it definitely won't be working tomorrow.

      Not even. You only need to listen to one song in full:

      To get it, hit play and listen to Guvera at least once each billing month using your mobile data (rather than WiFi). We'll text you to confirm each time your 1GB bonus has been added (takes up to 48 hours to apply from your first use each month)

        Not even that. I got the bonus after listening to the first 10 seconds of a song.

    Just remember to use your data not wifi, play the start of a song (you don't need to play a full song). I wonder if it still works though, or if it's just for people who have already signed up.

      Nope using it on Wifi works I have never used mobile data to listen haha.

      Seems that Apple have removed it from the App store.
      Deal is only usable for existing users.

    Don't want to ruin anyone's party, but the messaging appears to me that you would have had to already used the Guvera app and received a bonus GB prior to the announcement today. I had used it previously so received the above message via summarised text from Virgin. But a definite upvote from me :)

      Yep. They wanted to list on the stock market to raise capital, but were blocked (rightly so IMO). Hence, they don't have the money to continue operations.

        They could have listed on the NSX or an overseas alternative market. The ASX is not the only option to raise capital.

          That said, their proposal was pretty dodgy - very likely they were overestimating their potential revenue, and even leaving out some major competitors in the space from their prospectus!

    I had already downloaded the app a while ago when seeing the deal, but had not signed up and used it because I forgot about it.

    I just signed up and played a song. I'm hoping to receive an email from Virgin saying I get this 1GB per month. Is that what others had happen?

    I'll let you know how it goes.

    Downloaded an .apk of the app yesterday, since its not in the Play store. Managed to link it to my Ph. no. and got the text from Virgin today. Free 1GB! Thanks OP!

        Open the menu in app and click "Connect", should be at the bottom from memory. Then there should be a Virgin Mobile option, just click that and enter your number.

        You may have missed your chance on this, but good luck to you!
