Nice deal. Any chance of offers coming up for AT&T which I understand has better coverage? Flying over in late September.

    • The AT&T cards rarely go on any sale because they are like the Apple of USA suppliers - great rep but very little margins and AT&T encourage not to put independent sales as well :(

      • I've tried (from TSD) in California & Hawaii in last 6 months… agree that AT&T is better…but T-mobile is pretty good, certainly much cheaper, and as long as you have your maps loaded offline (E.g. Google, TomTom, .etc..) then it shouldn't be a show-stopper

just don't expect blanket coverage where-ever you go…. major cities you should be mostly fine, but if you're travelling in remote areas you won't get full coverage

T-mobile was good enough for me

    • Used T-Mobile on a recent trip to USA and Canada. Coverage was pretty good, even in Canadian rockies and Alaska.

      • According to the TSD website the T-Mobile SIMs can only be used in the USA, not SOTB or Canada. How'd you get it to work?

        • +1

The website is incorrect. I used the Us$65 tmobile sim from TSD and because it can roam on multiple Canadian networks this sim actually had better signal/speed in Canada with all the inclusions!

I bought one of these approx 1 year ago. Worked great!! However, the deal I had included unlimited phone calls to Australian Landlines. Do you still offer that?

    • No - that's a feature T-Mobile doesn't include with the standard sims anymore. It is an add on but an additional $25ish AUD :(

      • Bugger :( It use to be a $10 add on (international pack). O well

        • We used to get it included with all our sims - oh the good old days!

  • I'm going to the states next week. How long does it take for a t-mobile sim to get delivered?

  • We are in Melbourne, depends where you are. But express postage will guarantee it'll be delivered!

    • Any chance for pick up as I'm located in Melbourne?

      • Where abouts in Melb are you? We are in the south eastern suburbs.

All good. Ordered two nano unlimited 4G t mobile sims earlier today on express delivery. Thanks for the great customer service.

        • @avra06: You're very welcome!

  • I've used these blokes before and can recommend. However, i just went to the T Mobile web page and note you can get a $30us tourist plan (approx $40 AUD) with unlimited data, text, international text etc which is comparable to the $54 plan here.

I would feel more comfortable getting off the plane, rocking up to the T mobile store and for $40 I'm good to go there and then. As to T mobile no drama with coverage in the US.

    • *NOTE: 2GB data at 4G speed and then I presume 2G speed

    • +1

I like that i can walk off the plane turn on the phone and i am connected. I don't have to go find a shop mess around. With these guys it is all done for me and at the same time supporting an Australian company. Just my opinion.

      • agreed - I just threw the sim card into my phone while I was flying and I was online when I landed before even hopping off the plane! besides, paying au$54 for a us$65 plan is a bargain price you won't get in store.

  • Which phone would be best? I think I know the answer. I have Lenovo K3 Note which is dual sim and I would prefer. I can also get an Apple 5, 5C or5S - I would imagine their bands would be more compatible

    • I suspect your intuition is correct - I would go with the iphone!

  • Any deals for japan for end of October/start of November

    • Not yet, I would say in about a month or so new stock to cover those dates will be available and we can do a deal then!

      • +1

Great will keep an eye out. I've used this deal in the past and highly recommend it for anyone going to USA

  • +1

Thanks mate just in time for my travel dates ordering now

    • You're welcome!

  • Thank you , great timing.

Just had a wustion , do we get to know our number before the SIM card is activated ?

    • +1

Unfortunately with these cards the numbers are assigned upon activation on arrival and the number is SMS's to the handset.

  • Is tethering allowed on this plan?

    • +1

Yes! (Max. 14GB of tethering though).

  • If I buy a T-Mobile card, use it for 30 days, can I then top it up online in the US and how long is the top up good for please (in days, assuming the dollars last)?

    • +1

I just came back from the states with this deal -

how long are you going for? you could recharge as usual (eg us$65). another option if you're only there for a few days more is to drop down to their us$3/mo plan and top up us$10 for 1gb data for an extra week (total us$13) and use the phone mostly data only (you get 30 mins or messages interchangeable for the extended time). international/domestic roaming on 3rd party networks won't work once you drop the plan.

      • There is heaps of options like quackster suggests, the best one is dependent on your needs and duration after 30 days.

        • Actually I'm in the USA twice in two months, with five weeks in between back home. All use is very light and mostly calls, data will generally be via WiFi … I thought the best way might just be a second SIM?? So now a difficult question .. how long after 30 days is a SIM cancelled if not topped up???

        • US calls or to Australia? There's no aussie calls included. It's cheaper to get 2 aims than recharge@cornucopia:

  • Damn it! i brought T-Mobile Unlimited 4G Data Plan on your site yesterday :( missed on on a good deal

  • I am planning to buy T-Mobile for my Europe trip coming, any deal?

    • We don't stock the European card :(

  • +1

Thx, bought 1. Requested the deal last week, Rep delivered.

  • I need coverage for Canada too, but the difference in price between T-Mobile & AT&T is massive! Might be better off grabbing this deal and getting a Canadian prepaid upon arrival.

    • +2

this definitively works in Canada - I used it there! Signal is even better in Canada since they have agreements with lots of networks and you get all the same inclusions! If you're there over a month you need to recharge on a high end plan or you may lose the international roaming feature

      • Legend! Thanks for that!

  • Both http://willmyphonework.net/ and https://www.frequencycheck.com/ say that my AUS 4G phone will only get 3G speeds on the T-Mobile (and AT&T) network for my next trip - I don't have LTE bands 2, 4 or 12 :-(

Rep: Can you confirm that I will get 6Gb of data at 3G (HSPA) speeds before dropping back to 2G?

    • Hi mate, yes you will get 3G. You will basically get the max speed your phone supports - until you reach the limit.

  • When does the coupon expire? I'm planning a trip now but won't be sure if I can travel until next week or the week after.

    • Likely in the next couple of days, if you miss out PM us in a couple of weeks or so and we will take care of it though! Dont want anyone missing out.

  • +1

    Just bought 2. Thanks.

    • You're welcome!

      • thanks. Just note the size of card on the order please. For travelling I use an old iPhone 4.

        • Comes in a 3 in 1 multi pack, so you will be right for all phones :)

  • My manager is travelling to the US for 6 weeks from early Sep to mid Oct, is there a deal available that you can do or is there any other options? Many thanks!

    • The cards only come in 4 week slots, sorry!

  • Hi There,

I just missed out on these. Will there be anything coming up soon? Will be traveling in about 4 weeks time :(

  • +1

I'm also hoping there's another USA deal coming up shortly
