      Another Masters Disasters

      It's like the brand "I Need A".

      Marketing done.. decent?

  • +4

FWIW I concur with the OP the quality of these is actually exceptionally good - IIRC they're actually made in the UK. Not your cheap and nasty plastic boxes at all - I bought all I could from my local store - really a great bargain at even close to this price.

    • Exactly the reason for me to grab at least 1 set, will be replacing some old Chinese boxes with broken lids.

    • +2

I have had dealings with importing plastic storage containers and can confirm that these are one of the best on the market. Highly recommended at this price.

    • -1

Now you have confirmed that you are a relative of Broden! Bought all I could? What about other fellow ozbargainers who want to buy one?

      • FWIW 'Bought all I could' actually comprised the grand total of two (2) items. So next time perhaps keep your powder dry till you have the proper info to act upon lest you end up looking a tad silly accusing folks of stuff that just isn't true. ;-)

  • +3

Well I just hope they run out of stock when I go collect my other orders, I cant take any more bargains like this

  • +2

yea, but how useful is it?

    • said in the same voice I use on the pets

      "really"

    • really not really…?

      • but really, is it as handy as a coat hanger on a nudist beach?

        • …youre not gonna cover much up with a coat hanger? doesnt sound really handy to me!?

i could see these as being really useful for storing smaller less useful plastic storage containers in…

        • @franco cozzo:

wow mate, youve never been to a nudist beach have u? :)

  • +2

Girlfriend's got one of these. Great for putting my junk in.

    • +9

      64L? thats some big girl…

    • Your junk goes in your trunk

    • Wait, is this your junk?, or your junk?

    • Really useful box for putting your junk in?

  • +2

Ofcourse this deal pops up a week after i move

  • I wish all boxes were that useful, so I have somewhere to store my junk.
Good to know they come in different shapes and sizes.

  • +1 for imaginative title

    • +3

That is the product name ;)

Oh haha. Wow what a great name! I'd hate to think how much that person got paid!

I just bought a set of these from Morayfield where they had plenty, and might go back for a second set. I can concur that they are quite sturdy, but as to there usefulness, I will have to put stuff in them to quantify this.

They have thought of a few useful ideas though… All have regular 'Litre' markings on the side, holes in the handles and lids to allow zip ties or small padlocks to pass through. The 3L and 9L have quantities of CD and DVD that can be stored in them. I like the fact that they are very much straight sides and will stack on another of the same size with or without its lid. 2 3L will stack neatly side by side on the 9L but not so for the bigger ones. The 3L will also sit neatly on its own lid upside down. The others will but aren't locked in like the 3L

Looks good but Masters are far away from city, I don't think I would travel more than 20 metres for such a deal.
They seriously need to consider opening a few new stores.

    • Cannot :( WOW is trying to sell the business. Many like myself likes Masters due to factors e.g. competition and variety of brands they offer. Hopefully Masters, Mitre 10, Home and Timer stores could do a magic and come up as a larger company for hardware.

      • +5

I like them because they have a functioning website - unlike Bunnings who are too stingy to put in some of their multi million dollar profit into proper web development to maintain the facade that they are the cheapest….

      • Funny, they are like begging to win the lottery without buying a ticket!
How do they want to win customers and sell if they don't have a branch close to the populated areas? I mean the places they have opened stores is good for their headquarters, it is not customer focused at all.
Look at Bunnings they are dominated all over the place, Masters in this shape and style has no chance.

    • +1

Yeah same. I stay near the city and don't own a car so it's difficult. whenever masters deal comes up I always feel I miss out lol

  • I got a set of these last weekend(when they were $35). Tingalpa in Brisbane had them next to self serve register and had approx 30 sets.

Really Useful Boxes are excellent - having moved around the Uk and Australia every 2-4 years - Stackable Boxes make life so much easy. Really useful are designed to stack on top of their identical sized siblings , the lips and groves on the bottoms and lids with reinforcement around the corners mean that they can stack easily over 2 metres in height!. They were crazy money when Masters first stocked them but then again they are importing British designed and Built Plastic boxes when everyone else is more or less got other cheaper boxes - which are let down by there unreinforced corners and and lids. This is a a non-obvious bargains - they are the Eneloops of Plastic Boxes (but who in the hell reviews plastc storage boxes) - Am only sharing this information after I have acquired 20 sets!!!! After writing this i think i will order another 5 Using my Big W giftcards which i got with a 10% discount thanks to Ozbargain

    • +4

So you basically brodened everything? 25 sets… really(!?)

      • +2

        Broden = reseller

        • am moving house and i also have lots of computer components.
The postal cost for a 64 litre box would wipe out any resell profit

  • i got 3 of these :) thank you, not many left in good conditions in the store… I m afraid.
    thank you for the post

  • These are excellent quality. Especially if you're a board/miniature gamer.

  • Is this BPA free?

  • Sounds like the phat controller in Thomas the Tank Engine - 'you are a really useful (engine) plastic container'

  • waiting for an aussie version: useless (profanity) storage containers…

  • Thanks, picked up one in Oakleigh (VIC). Only 3 sets left. They are in the bargain corner near gardening section before trade area entrance.

  • dammit, I went into the Hawthorn store this morning hoping to get a few, and the staff said they had all been cleaned out by online click & collect orders overnight!

    • That's not my store but I just cleaned out ten. These boxes aren't as tall as others I have, for example my 52l starmaid boxes, but well worth the effort due to all the smaller sizes. By the way Masters seem to have the starmaid type 52l boxes with colored lids (marked differently) for $9 in store. It's definately the same mould.

      • Thanks - I actually ended up getting some from the Masters eBay store! All sorted now :)

        • …actually, I received a call from Masters. No stock, order cancelled!

  • Is that Bosch unit come with a screwdriver / handle or is it only attachments for someone who has a drill / driver set?

    • Only the bits

    • that black L-shaped piece is a handle.

The item isn't the quality one might expect from Bosch however. But, it is worth the money at this price.

Don't forget that if you purchased something from Masters, and the price has since dropped (Really Useful Boxes were $35, now $20) and you purchased it within the last 30 days Masters have a price match guarantee and will refund the difference.

    • I bought a few when they were $30, just 32 days before this special. So close…

  • Picked up a couple of the "Really Useful Box 64L Bonus Set 5 Pack" sets today from my local Masters. They had plenty in stock, but many broken and/or dirty. I inspected my two sets before buying them, but still discovered a cracked lid on one of the 64L containers when I got home. Good price for the set, though.

    • +2

but still discovered a cracked lid on one of the 64L

I guess they must've jumped on them too much.

  • +1

Masters in Mill Park only had them with broken lids on the large outer container. So I got 4 for $40! The lids arent too broken so they still fit and can be covered so pretty good deal!
