Hotels.com takes 15% off hotel stays at any Price Match Guarantee hotel via coupon code "BUDGET510". Eligible locations will include the text "price match guarantee" under the per-night cost. Additional fees, taxes, and restrictions may apply. Coupon is valid for stays through July 31.

As a test, I tried Melbourne Mercure, June 25-26 (Spring St. location). Hotels.com, Hotelclub.com.au, Expedia, etc are all showing $179* Added coupon code to Hotels.com and brought it down to $152. Should work worldwide.

*First result on hotelscombined.com didn't compute taxes/fees in its price

  • Thanks for this.

Need to book for my holidays to Hawaii. I will see if it works.
    Thanks

    • Just checked and it works

  • worked for me too!! will save me some money for my try to europe in july!! Thank you soo much Neil~~

  • Awesome, Thanks

  • sigh, does nt work on booking in august….

  • Would this coupon work in conjunction with MoneyBackCo as well?

If a hotel is, say, $100/night then this code would bring it down to $85/night, and the MBC arrangement would give 6% cashback, for total = $79.90 ?

Or would one code cancel out the other?

    • I would say yes they would both work. 2 different systems. MBC would be no different than a website with advertising linking to hotels.com. Both would need to get paid their fee, as long as it's a purchase.

So you would get the 6% cashback on the $85. Can't say I've tried it with MBC but I use Mypoints & Bing Cashback (for US purchases) and always use coupons.

  • I booked using my credit card, and got a confirmation e-mail last night and my credit card was deducted. And this morning I got an e-mail as below:

Dear Hotels.com Customer, Your Hotels.com purchase 14856666074 has been cancelled due to one or more of the following reasons:
    • We were unable to authenticate the credit card.
    • We were unable to authenticate the card holder.
    • The purchase was declined by the credit card company.
    • Account history.

Please reply to this e-mail if you think there may be a mistake. We are happy to work with you to rectify any discrepancy. Since we have been unable to contact you via the telephone numbers listed in your account, please reply to this e-mail with the telephone number where we can reach you and the best time to call. A Hotels.com Transaction Processing Representative will contact you. Please do not call Hotels.com Customer Service for assistance with this matter. They will instruct you to e-mail [email protected]. Sincerely, Sara HubertTransaction Processing Hotels.com, Inc. E-mail: [email protected]

and 2 minutes later i got a CANCELLATION confirmation letter. I didn't even get a chance to respond to this e-mail! I e-mailed them back asking for a explaination and provided my contact detail, now have been waiting for a whole day for the explaination.. But still haven't hear anything…. very upset about it!

    anyone else has similar problem??

    • I booked a hotel last night also but no cancellation emails or problems with the transaction that I can tell. Perhaps you somehow accidentally transposed a couple of digits in the credit card number? Whether that's the reason or not, I have not had the same experience as you and my booking appears to be accepted.

      • +1

Then you are very lucky… because trust me you don't wanna have to deal with Hotels.com's customer support for these reasons:

        1. can't not call them directly, if you have a problem could only e-mail them and wait for the whole day to get a reply even tho t

        2. even tho i was not interested in a refund by rather a explanation of what actually happened and want them to honor my booking since I have been charged the full amount, here is my reply:

        "Dear Customer;

Your purchase has been cancelled and all applicable charges to the credit card have been refunded. The refund process will be complete in 10 business days or less. For further details regarding these charges, please contact the credit issuer.

        Sincerely,

all i can say is that.. bad customer service and totally uninterested in helping customer!

  • oh f@##*%^#!!! just booked with them the other day! T_T

  • I just tried and it's not working !:(

    • Grr! Agreed! I also get a message advising "We cannot recognise the discount code that you entered."

I had another couple of hotels to book over this weekend - how disappointing!!!

      • Actually, it occurs to me now that BUDGET510 was probably a code ending in May given May is month 5 in 2010. It is a pity that didn't occur to me earlier - I checked the DealNews link and didn't see any expiry date so assumed it would be valid until the end of the stay period (ie: Jul 31 2010). Bother!
