      Isn't this a bargain though?

        • +3

          Since fuel prices at petrol stations can fluctuate without warning, please post the latest observed fuel prices in the state-specific fuel watch threads in the Automotive forum and not as a deal. However, if there is a special promotion, such as a bigger-than-usual supermarket discount, or a special price with a defined timeframe for which the price is valid, then the promotion can be posted as a deal.

          This isn't just the latest observed fuel price, and is closer to a special promotion.

          @gilbarc:

          and is closer to a special promotion.

          Hardly.

          I filled up for a similar price last week

          @jv:

          Good for you. Looks like at least 133 people disagree with you.

          Did you post make it known on Ozbargain? Nup, you're just here to (incorrectly) criticise others. Thanks for nothing.

        • +2

          @jv:

          Are you 100% sure it was 95RON fuel for that price? Pics or you're just talking crap JV

          @nickxau:

          Pics or you're just talking crap JV

          I don't have a time machine to go back and take pics.

          Do you usually take pics when you fill up ???

        • -1

          @ripsnorter:

          Good for you.

          thanks.

          @jv:

          Do you usually take pics when you fill up ???

          Nope I just get this thing they call a "receipt" just like the OP has to prove the price you've paid for the fuel. Don't you??

        • @nickxau:

          Don't you??

          Nope, don't need one. Just need to keep a logbook of kms…

        • +2

          @jv:

          Nope, don't need one. Just need to keep a logbook of kms…

          Guess you don't have proof to backup your claim and you could just be talking crap that you also paid the same price last week as OP for 95RON fuel then.

        • -2

          @nickxau:

          Guess you don't have proof

          The fuel is still in the car. That's enough proof for me…

          @jv:

          The fuel is still in the car. That's enough proof for me…

          You're missing the point. You do realize that proves nothing to anyone else right? That could be anything in your car…

        • -2

          @nickxau:

          You're missing the point.

          I think you're missing the point.

          I was there, you weren't, so more likely that I know what I put in more than you do…

        • +2

          @jv:

          Let me remind you of the point that you made. You said:

          Hardly.
          I filled up for a similar price last week

          So you're denying something that someone has posted as a bargain claiming the reason is because you got a similar deal last week for the same thing (let's not forget this is a deal for 95RON fuel) but you can't prove it because you have no proof.

          That to me just sounds like nothing but arguing just for the sake of arguing.

          lol do u even know jv? ^^

          Let me remind you of the point that you made

          No need to remind me, I was there…

          arguing just for the sake of arguing.

          I'm not the one arguing, I just stated a fact.

        • +2

          @jv:

          I just stated a fact.

          The point is jv, what you state as a fact (to you) is only a claim to us.

          Peace :)

        • +1

          @jv:

          Yeah and so is that.

          So was yours 95RON or not? And what was the price and where at? (I have no reason not to believe you, just curious)

        • +2

          @CVonC: Wtf I checked new comments on this deal, saw 18 comments and expected some good sh!t and all I see is this sh!t LOL…..

        • @illumination:

          Lol can you expect anything less though? Wonder why he hasn't answered the question even the second time around.

        • @CVonC:

          Ssssssshhh… let's just leave him in peace in his little imaginary world where he thought he bought the same thing for the same price :)

        • @CVonC: Haha I'm not getting involved.. lost track of where you guys are at. Funny nonetheless.

        Hard to please some people

          Others are impossible to please

  • +5

    Man that's cheap. E10 here is still $1.15 a litre.

    • +1

      Wth. Where do you live Name ?
      Coles/Woolies selling 98RON for 116-118 cents in Parklea/Kelliville

      • e10 is like 99c here. Parra-ish. NW Syd.

      • +1

        Gold Coast

  • +1

    Definitely bargain worthy imho

  • It's hovering around $1.16 a litre here and 1.00 a litre half an hours drive away.

  • I wish I had a time machine I was just there .

    • +32

      A car should do just fine.

  • +1

    This also happened at Woolworths Petrol North St Marys a few weeks ago. Lasted about a month.

    They said that there was no E10 available so gave everyone 95 for the price of E10!

  • +2

    Why would they give you PULP when E10 is basically ULP + ethanol? PULP only cars probably won't like E10 much. Wouldn't it make more sense to just shut off the E10 pumps and have 91, 95, 98, diesel and auto gas?

    • +3

      Because a lot of servos (in NSW) will only stock E10, 95, 98. Not all servos have enough tanks to be selling both 91 and E10.

      Likewise, not all servos have diesel and/or LPG…

      • Thanks, that makes sense. I guess if they only had E10 and they ran out they'd have to give the next available octane fuel at the E10 price

      • No 91? Wow. I'm surprised.

    • Ethanol boosts the octane so E10 is about 95 octane. A lot of cars that are minimum 95 octane also say E10 compatible. Strangely, the few times I've used E10, fuel economy was better but can't be sure as traffic may have been light those times. I usually use 98.

      • Nope, unless otherwise specified, E10 will only be 93-94RON. Don't assume that E10 is 95RON unless the servo specifically markets it as being 95RON (ie. I believe United sell theirs as being 95RON).

    I love these live 'up to the minute' deals - the effort to post while out and about at no individual benefit is often underrated. Great work OP!

  • Thanks!

  • $1.21 for regular unleaded here…

  • +10

    I tried vortex once. It was too powerful…saw all sorts of things. Good price though

    • what do you mean?

      nvm i think i got it

    JERRY CANS!

    • Is there any specific law on storing a filled Jerry Can in the apartment or inside a car?

      • I don't think so. However you might have to check with your body corporate. I know that cars with LPG tanks have certain restrictions on parking in enclosed areas but that is gas, where as petrol is fluid and it leaking wouldn't be as much a threat to health.

      • Not supposed to have them in enclosed space in case of leak.
        Fumes are have more explosive potential than liquid.
        Illegal to transport in cabin of vehicle
        I wouldn't store fuel in living space
        Know your fire exits

        • So i guess carrying it in SUV, hatchback or Station wagon is illegal ?

        • +2

          @AG1304x: I really doubt it. That's the whole point of a Jerry can, so that it is contained. Like keeping sharps in a sharp bin.

      • Don't store fuel in jerry cans inside your vehicle, it is just asking for trouble.

        As for storing it in your living areas, I wouldn't do that either just for cleanliness reasons alone.

    91c in fullarton sa on the run for regular unleaded

    • +1

      Costco was 87.7 for UPL today. Membership obvisously required but the Shell next door usually sells it at a similar price

      • Damn SA petrol prices are cheap.

  • Nintey-something cents for fuel? Hot damn. Paid 1.38 here on Tuesday for 95, lol.

    • +3

      cheap AF here in Adelaide at the moment. 92.9 at shell/caltex means 88.9 + surcharges for premium fuels. Damn cheap

  • filled up for 95.9 the other week but that was for e10. god damn out of sync with the cycle now -_-

  • +1

    That price should be what we should be paying for it anyway.

  • +3

    i was told they have an issue with the tanks for E10.
    I also saw on the news yesterday that there were a lot of reports of contaminated fuel recently and to keep your receipts.

  • Can anyone tell me where the cheapest places are to buy petrol in SE QLD at the moment? Im in Jimboomba now and $1.11 at Shell with the Coles discount is what I've seen so far. I'll be headed up North of Brisbane on Monday. Any suggestions?

    • +1

      @davelarz
      Woolies Petrol is 108.7 CPL at Mango Hill or if going thru hinterland Woolies at Beerwah 112.9 cpl (both unleaded 91) Current 7am Saturday

    • Should check out the motormouth fuel app. Generally reliable and they've updated it so you can scroll around the map and see prices all over the place. I work between Brisbane and Gold Coast. Good to check on where I should fill up. Just don't go too crazy with the price checks, you are limited in the amount you can view in a rolling time period.

      • @name
        Just downloaded the latest version.

        Anyone tell me an app to fool location settings ?

        (GPS sucks battery hard)

  • -1

    Have u guys tried MotorMouth app? I use it to find pump offering the best price and its preety accurate. It isn't free app though…

    https://www.dropbox.com/s/9ny5jpdehcv1tae/File%206-8-16%2C%2…

    • +3

      Gasbuddy same thing and its free

      • -1

        I use both. Gasbuddy relies on crowd update so usually not upto date.
        This one has some other sources I guessso pretty accurate.

        Proof :
        https://www.dropbox.com/s/a67olbfvu7cq8r6/File%206-8-16%2C%2…

        See how for Peakhurst, Clatex pump,Motormouth is showing the accurate price of 97.9 where as Gasbuddy showing inaccurate price of 99.9

        • No, no I can NOT see it live, as they hide their once FREE SERVICE behind the cloak of a paid screen.

      • Ah just noticed its free now on appstore, and probably on android as well. I remember paying some $5 a while back for android version…

    • What does "25 Price Reveals left" mean on the pic? Curious!

      • It means they want your money for what they once provided for free.

      • +1

        They give 50 free price reveals per week.

    • +1

      Motormouth was free when it was a free standing website.
      As soon as Motormouth released the App, they hid the details behind the cloak of a paid service.
      Double dipping dipshits lost so many users that I personally knew of due to this and refused to even afford a response via FaceBook.
      Horrid customer service and abysmal model.
      Better off adding information of latest prices to Pricespy who allow ALL to freely see it and make their revenue from advertisments, rather than Motormouth who charge you for the "privilege" of becoming a member of staff and sourcing the information they rely upon to charge you admission, only to still get advertisements!
      Yes, I'm filthy at their remodelling.

      • Lol, you seem to be quite disappointed with it. Agree, everyone will have preferred if it was free. But can't complain , everyone has their own business model. I am preety much happy with their 50 free price checks per week + their price map . I haven't paid any additional penny so far except the initial $5 or so I paid when they initially launched their android app.

    • Do/did any of you guys use comparethemarket? I started using that when motormouth changed their service. It worked fine for me until recently, where it looks like they've done the same thing as motormouth :-(

  • +1

    woolies fuel app also…

    • yeah that's good too but shows only woolworths pump. In my area metro is usually the chepest, so..

      • @ujwols
        Yeah but it gives the clue to cheaper locations/areas
        :)

        • +1

          True. I am usually after the exact station which is offering the best price in the area so rather than roaming around, I can go straight to it. Saves time & fuel :)

  • +1

    I remember fuel being 60c not long ago

    • how many years is "long ago"? :)

      • +1

        15 years.

        • wow thats quite along ago considering that's about half of my age :)

        • +1

          @ujwols: Not a bad guess. Last time it was 60c or less as a monthly average in Brisbane was 1999. via.

  • don't forget cashrewards wish egift cards for 5% off

    • That's why I always refuel at Woolies.

    When I was on my P's I'm 35 now I had a little yellow Ford Laser KB

  • We hit 90.9 here in SA today!

  • Did you say if they run out of E10? I hardly ever spot servo run out E10

  • If they did Vortex 98, I'd be tempted to drive up from Mel!

  • Anyone tried this today? Planning to try later today.

  • Damn, just filled up 95 at Coles Express Bexley for 115.9/L.

  • E10 102.9 cents at WW Petrol Stockland Merrylands (Before save 4 cents)
