    Bugger - just bought the "Ascent" model (identical, just sold at Toys R Us) yesterday for $125 on their sale. Sigh.

      Same, but this one is pretty ugly so I feel better. The blue one I got is one of the best looking ones on the market and comes with a free fitting which is worth about $50.

      • Same just bought the Ascent too! But the free fitting is worth paying a little extra anyway.

        • Is it difficult to install correctly yourself?

        • No, but it just gives a little added peace of mind if you're not 100 per cent certain of doing it right.

          @eve:

          Probably depends on the car and whether you've done it before. For the extra $13 you can get it installed by a professional who comes to your house at your convenience so it's really up to you. The guy who installed mine also gave me a few pointers - e.g don't let the front chair recline back too far to the point it stops the car seat from moving as the seat needs to wobble a little to absorb and distribute any impact forces.

        I gave up anything looking good ages ago… kids ruin everything

  • If money wasn't an issue, which seat for safety & ease of use?

      The first car seat I bought last year was the top rated overall in all configurations - infasecure meteor from Big W
