  • Target is being very cagey about their price, I hope it's a good $10 or so less than the other 'best' PS4 prices.

Guess I'll have to wait a few months for a more reasonable price

For a game of this scope and polish, I'd like to think $60 is more than reasonable. Guess that depends on the person though, I've been waiting 3 years for this to launch :P

Someone people just expect AAA games to sell for like $10 on launch.

      • +4

well, let's wait for reviews. Usually games are released with bugs and end being less interesting than the hype

      • +1

Have you read any reviews that say it's extraordinary or even a contender for best game of the year? I read two that weren't very kind to it & just stopped there.

        • +2

I change my mind. The game is simply not worth the money. It's missing a lot of what Sean promised. Hopefully that gets added later, and it'll earn that price.

    • +1

You can have a more reasonable price now. VPN can reduce this to ~40AUD https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/246898.

  • Thanks! Grabbed it. I really prefer gog as the device gets 100% of sales (I belive?) also it's an open platform which I think is great.

Got high hopes for the game! =P

    • Nope, GOG take a 30% cut, just like Steam. Humble Bundle is the way to go if you want to support the devs, they only take 5%.

      • +1

Oh. That's sad…pfft that kills my motivation to buy from gog -.-

        • Yeah :/

Don't worry too much about the devs. Trust me, they'll be rolling in it soon enough, and I'm sure appreciate the fact that you simply bought the game :)

      • +4

Not strictly correct. Humble only takes 5% if the game is purchased via the widget, usually embedded on the game dev's website. However the Humble Store takes a 10% cut, along with 5% for charity. So Humble's still the best way to go if you want to support a dev, but look out for the widget and use that if you want maximum impact.

At least, that was the case last I looked into any of this.

So I'd have to add this manually to my steam library?

    • yes

    • +1

Yes…however, you could always just use GOG Galaxy :D

  • GOG charge in AUD, so this should be $61.99 as that is the price you'll be charged unless you're doing some VPN things

    • Used to be the case. But they have since changed it back to USD. I forget the reason why. Where a game tends to have regional pricing, they give you store credit to make up for it.

      • +2

ummm no they haven't… i bought it last night and was charged in AUD… not sure how you're seeing any different to myself

        • Perhaps it's your payment method?

        • @dhunterzao: no it turns out it's an option under your profile… https://www.gog.com/account/settings/personal… so yeah i guess you can potentially save money if your bank or whatever has a decent exchange rate, or you can get charged accurately in AUD haha

its kinda weird if i change the option and log out it will still stay at whatever i'd set it to… so yeah i'd say maybe you changed yours at some stage so its stuck? either way not a huge difference, but i know i'd rather pay in AUD when its an option :)

      • I just bought it with AUD.

  • So any word on whether this is actual multiplayer or is it like the souls series where you can only leave messages?

    • Its MMO but you may never find another person as there's like 8 quintillion planets in the first galaxy

      • That second part is wrong. There's 18 quintillion planets in the entire universe, with thousands of different galaxies.

      • +1

Yeah but if I can kill even just one guy, that will make the kill that much sweeter. :D

    • +1

Basically, other people play in the same universe, but the odds of bumping into one of them is 1 in quadrillions. You can also see things other people have discovered, but again, the chances are extremely slim.

It's been speculated that it'll be easier to meet people at more significant places, like space stations.

  • Thanks OP. I think I'll pre-order! Have lost a lot of interest in gaming recently but this looks like its right down my alley!

    • +1

Glad to be of assistance :)

  • I still wonder if Target (despite mentioning they'd sell it for $79), will pull a fast one and sell it for $69.

  • Is this able to be activated on Steam? I like to keep all my games together for re-downloading :)

  • +4

Damn, looks like you're not able to see other players after all.
