  • Do they use telstra, optus lines or another company?

Sounds like a good deal until you have a look at the prices. Rip off. I.e. $35/month for only 1GB of data or $70 for 8GB. No thanks.

    • Where are you getting those values? Using Woolies rewards the prices are 10% cheaper with option to roll data over. I'm considering Woolies compared to Kogan or Boost

      • -2

Fair enough. Still in my opinion not a great deal when compared to Vaya, for example. Found those prices here https://mobile.woolworths.com.au/woolworths-phone-plans.html

thats for a plan you spud

@cdaddy: aren't they all plans? Think you mean for a phone plan. They were the first prices I found after clicking on "Go to Deal"

Ps who negged my comment and didn't post?

      https://mobile.woolworths.com.au/prepaid.html

3Gb for $30/month or $27 using WOW rewards
8Gb for $45/month or $40.50 using WOW rewards

Plus the remainder of the 16Gb you have rolled over from the first month (details above).

      eg. over 6 months on the 8Gb plan. Total data = 56Gb so ~9Gb a month. Total cost = $229.50 ($38.25/month)

Alternately use $45 plan first month then switch to $30 plan. Total data = 31Gb ~5Gb/month. Cost = $162 ($27/month)

      Vaya is:
      3Gb for $28/month
      7Gb for $36/month
      8Gb for $46/month ($36+$10)

Cost for 6 months on Vaya
      3Gb/month = $159 ($26.50/month)
      7Gb/month = $207 ($34.50/month)

Seems over a 6 month period that Woolworths is better value.
(Also, Woolworths uses Telstra 4G, Vaya uses Optus 4G.)

This wont work cause you only roll over your unused data if you keep the same or high plan in this case your dropping down a plan other wise would be a good option.

        • Works out to be 5 x 3 + 6 for the the first month so 3.5 gb month for $27.

Id say lebara 5gig is better value at $300 for 12 months.

          5gig for 25$pm on vodaphone 4g

        • Ah yes, sorry I only read the first line of the T+Cs.

I personally still think that the 9Gb / month (over 6 months) for $38.25/month is a better deal than Vaya mobile. (Especially considering it's Telstra.)

      • Thanks for the comparison. Does the rollover last longer than a month? I've got rollover on my phone plan with Virgin but only for the next month.

        • +1

Yep. It rolls over for more than a month - rolls over as long as you recharge before expiry on the same or higher plan.

      • Thanks for the calculations, had to up-vote for the invested effort. A two-month comparison may be more realistic, unless people stay beyond 2 months before porting? In this sense, Kogan would have offers that secure a 3-month prepaid for 5GB at $27 as well.

Seems like those that were lucky on the Boost promotions would be having the best deals $20 for 5+4GB, or the Vodafone $14.50 for 8GB

        • What are the kogan offers for $27 i see there 5gb at 37$
          Thanks

        • @TheStahh: Sometimes they offered 20% off, check your emails or search through OzB. They've stopped the promo a week or so ago

    • That deal had 15% off.

Although, if you use the Fathers day code maybe…

      • Doesnt work. MISSYOU works, however, but at 12% off, which brings the $27 down to $23.76.

        • Oh cheers! Might give that a whirl

    • +1

Strictly speaking that was a deal using a 15% code and it's expired.

  • Still struggling to use my Amaysim and $1 woolies card so I'll pass…

  • When does it have to be activated by?

ie: buy now and use in November while on holidays for the data.
