Found this on the "My Optus" app on my phone, searched the Optus website and doesn't appear to advertised.
For customers with existing mobiles.
All the details appear to be in the link.

Add any new 24-month My Plan Plus to your existing service to be eligible for 5GB bonus data.
Your existing service can be any My Plan Plus / SIM Only plan.
5GB of extra data per month will be added to your new My Plan Plus plan to share across the devices connected to your account.

    Doesn't have to be a 24mo does it? Mine just says any "My Plan Plus".

    Either way, it's $40 ($36) for 10GB as is - is the 5GB even that valuable??

    You will need to have a second mobile&plan to get the 5gb from the info I have seen

      Not true. I used the link provided here, and it says you have to pay for EPL if you don't cancel before August 2017. So this year free.

      Thanks from me too.

      Was getting very itchy about getting a new phone, and Nexus 6p was in my top two choices. $48pm, 6GB data when you choose the cheapest plan. Bring that back to 5GB as my wife goes over her plan every month, but that's still heaps for both of us, and won't have to pay the $10 charge she always gets.

      Very happy with this.

    !! Please add on the post the cheapest plan and phone is $40. You must buy a plan with the phone to get the extra data

    FYI Just spoke to Optus -> if you already have two mobile numbers on the same account, you cannot just re-contract either of the plans. You must either add a new service or cancel your current service and re-sign up (does that mean you lose your number? Unsure, should have asked).

      traditionally the easiest way is to port it to the cheapest sim you can find that inst on optus, let is port and then port it back to the new plan
