  For those who wants the HDR-AS100 with view remote, it is cheaper than in greys online brand new than the refurbished from Sony for $27x after code. Finally couldn't resist and get the cheaper $120 As-20 as surf cam for the boy as Spring is coming. Log in CR for 1%rebate as well.

    Careful with that camera, the "underwater 5m" housing that comes with it doesn't work, gives very blurry images. Sony have made a replacement flat front for the housing that resolves the blurry mess underwater……but blurs things above the water!

    There's a $100 case that works above and below water

    Just had a look at all my pacific islands underwater shots , owned the camera a couple of years too

      It's a common problem with that style of camera. I have the 100, does it with the 20 and others too. The cheap housing it comes with is intended for splash / above water only in Sony later adverts

      has anyone bought the attachment to the action camera off eBay, eg. fix the cam to the bike, helmet, surf board….What do you buy and do they work properly?

        Any of those I reckon…… it's pretty big….. got a very strong spring and the jaws are covered in rubber. I maybe wouldn't do helmet, as it's heavy

  I have the AS20 but I don't recommend it for attaching to vehicles, way too much rolling shutter

  Not good enough for me and I will pass this one.

    It does say the value you get for the camera. I figure though for the price of $120 aud compared to $240 USD makes a big difference.

    I'm getting it mainly because I want to record in the pool/ outdoors with my baby. Would be tough handling so I'm hoping this would do the trick
