  • Nice deal, I'd be all over it, but I had a DJ gift card to use so bought from them after pricematching Appliances Online.

    Any bargains?

NO DELIVERY to PERTH on large appliances apparently! Rather odd as they have warehoue in eeach main city? I need a freezer! :(

I tried to see if we could open up Perth Metro for you and others but I just got off the phone with our national logistics manager and he explained why we can't deliver to Perth Metro.
eBay defines WA – Perth Metro as the postcodes:
      6000-6214, 6800-6999

However, Appliances Online doesn't have local staff (i.e. our own trucks and drivers) that go out to the following postcodes:
      6041, 6042, 6043, 6044, 6074. 6081. 6082, 6083. 6084, 6207, 6213, 6214

On the actual Appliances Online website, we do deliver to everywhere else between 6000-6214 but as eBay doesn't allow us to exclude the above-mentioned postcodes from delivery we've had to exclude all of Perth Metro (plus almost all regional Australia for the same reason - we cover most of regional Australia but can't exclude specific postcodes as eBay's shipping exclusions are not granular enough).

We have asked eBay for more granular postcode exclusions but to my knowledge it's not a functionality that eBay has.
Other than that, you can try the trick chanthelegend did by calling up our customer support team to update the delivery to a new postcode (as long as we deliver to the updated postcode on the main Appliances Online website, you should be fine)

There is another small silver lining though - because of the OzBargain comments, I was able to get our logistics guys to open up Adelaide Metro!

      • How about deliveries to Darwin NT? Can that be done via the ebay store, with a delivery postcode change?

      • Hi Rep,

I'm in Tassie and it looks like all of your free standing ovens (a 'Large Item') don't post to anywhere in the State (I'm 7310 or 7320). Even though this option is available on your website.

Any reason why ebay is treated differently?

Just change your postcode to one that has free delivery and then PM them once your purchase goes through. That's what I did and I'm getting my dryer delivered tomorrow. You can cross check their delivery fees with their official website to make sure they deliver to you first.

      • Good plan!

Great thinking out of the box!
While I can't officially recommend this, I can tell you that our customer support team will be able to update deliveries with this method, but with a few caveats:

        1) As you mentioned, our trucks have to be able to deliver to the new postcode (check on our main site, we have an 'enter your postcode' functionality)
        2) Secondly, we typically need to have stock of that item in that state's warehouse. That is, you've asked our customer support team to change your delivery from Melbourne to Perth, but if we don't have that product you bought in our Perth warehouse, we may not be able to deliver to you. Even though we have a warehouse in every capital city, we're nowhere near the size of Good Guys, JB or HN who have hundreds of stores to draw stock from (plus warehouses)

With FREE Delivery (to 5% of the country). Screw that. I'd rather pay the 10% extra and give my money to a company that recognises Australians living outside the 4 Eastern capitals.

The population of Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Canberra make up more a fair bit more than 5% of the country :/

  • Will cash rewards work? Not impressed that an oven I was looking at buying all of a sudden increased in price yesterday by about 10%. What a coincidence!

  • The Samsung cashback deal on washing machines… Can I get the cashback if I buy through appliances online ebay?

    • can't speak for Samsung but speaking with LG about the same thing specifically excludes eBay and a valid retailer

      • Cashback should still work fine*. The invoice you get will be from the retailer selling the item, not from eBay so providing retailer is on the accepted cashback list, you get $$ back. EBay is just middle man playing no part in cashback offer - unless it is actual eBay %off sale of which there have been many. But that's not the same thing as manufacturer cashback.

        • Cashback sometimes have guideline limit that purchase must be from an authorized reseller.
        • I spoke to online help at applainces online and they were saying that the cashback is only valid if ordering directly from their site and not through ebay. I was hoping to get the 10% off and the $200 cashback from samsung on a washing machine. I am still not sure if it would work going off the terms it only really states that I need a receipt of purchase.

        • @Backyard Bomber:
I think your online chat to AO was talking rubbish.

Your receipt and purchase will be from Appliances Online, not ebay. Like buying from newspaper ad, but different :) Give Samsung a call on Monday for their take on it.

        • @deltakilo: Yes, that is how I understood it and I was trying to get confirmation from the appliances online rep but he/she was not playing the game. From what I can see in the terms I can't see how it wouldn't be a valid claim. Thank you for your responses… I'm still a bit nervous about it though. Get the feeling I will somehow get screwed.

Woohoo, happen to be shopping around for a new fridge. Happen to have found the one I want at AppliancesOnline for the best price. Was about to hit the buy button when I thought I'd do a quick check on Ozbargain for any kind of discount code or better fridge deal and stumbled upon this 10% off. Saved over $150. Good service from AppliancesOnline too when I phone them tonight at 8pm to confirm a couple of questions I had.
