Just wondering why i haven't seen any Masters deals lately, they advertise 50% off surely there must be a few good deals.

Plus it's all in-store only, so there's that issue. Quantity is questionable

This is going to be as shitty as the DS fire sale.

  • I went 2 times, came out empty handed. Sorry got 4 LED bulbs the second time. https://www.masters.com.au/product/101555849/orbit-5w-led-gl…

    • SAVE A DOLLAR, STOP EVERYTHING

  • Totally expected

  • Ive been meaning to pickup one of those Touchscreen Deadbolt locks that have been posted up around here as a deal a few times, but I have seemingly left my run too late as they are no longer listed.

Its out of Masters staff control. I noticed much of their stocks switched to RRP when it was taken over by GA Australia. Then they tried to con the public with their meh sales. One of my mate that worked there ranted to me how he was assigned to put back many items on the clearance section when it was taken over by GA.

10% discount with no store warranty is no deal. If something goes wrong with the purchase you have to chase the manufacturer for the warranty.
40-50% off would be more compelling.

My understanding is Woolworths will handle all warranty claims once Masters is gone.

And anyone expecting 40-50% the week after their closing down was announced was kidding themselves. They've got a large enough runway to gradually reduce their markdowns to eventually hit 40-50% come November. They're not going to throw away money by turning into a clearance house overnight, especially when people are filling the carpark for their great 10% off bargains.

Pisses me off seeing all the people whinging about it. They've said they're closing in December, of course they're not going to start dumping stock 3-4 months earlier.

    • Problem is that when they were sold, they jacked the prices up.

So any discount simply brings them back to being somewhat competitive.

      • Exactly, like 40% off lighting 2 weeks earlier, or 15% of cooking appliances the week before. Add to that that Masters seems to have been removied from the list of stores that accept Wish Gift Cards…

        • Masters seems to have been removied from the list of stores that accept Wish Gift Cards…

That will generally happen when a company goes into liquidation. At least with Wish (unlike DSE) you can use them at other WW businesses.

I was at Masters Keyborough today and it was packed. Car park full. People everywhere delusional about the bargains they thought they were getting. It was quite amusing.

    • Yes, schadenfreude level of amusing.

I went to Masters to buy some more of the tiles I got last week even though I knew I wouldnt get the 30% off that I got last week I thought at 10% off closing down discount it wouldnt be too much of a hit pricewise. How wrong I was - even with 10% off they were dearer than last weeks pre-discount price. I thought it couldnt be right so asked them to check. I was told the prices are no longer Masters prices and the company closing down has set their own prices. I was stuck having to buy more tiles to match but warn others of their trick which I find deceiving. 10% off an increased price.

In fact I calculated if they are giving 10% off they have actually first increased the price by just over 27%.

Check your prices before buying anything from this lot - its unethical what they are doing.

  • I got Tvilum Space 1 Door Pantry Cabinet for AUD 55. Master's tick price was AUD 79. The similar item on Fantastic Furniture is AUD 99.

Went to get a couple of light globes last week. Some Phillips 7w LED's were discounted from$39 to $19 each. It said 10% off store wide, so $17ish at the counter right??

Scanned through at $4.95. Queried if the price was correct. Check out said it was.

Went home and tested how they worked. Went back to Masters and bought the rest. Best part was, the next 8 scanned through at $3.35 each.

  • It is like an anti sale so far. Went in the other day and it seems lots of things that were 30-60% off before are now 10% off.

  • I got email saying upto yes word upto 40% off but whats 40% off?
There is certain things im after but dont wabt to waste my time going there to find its not then.
When you look online the items im looking at are still the 10% off.
Be interested to know what the 40% stuff is anyone know do they say in store or do we all just guess?

There was definitely more people walking out of there empty handed than people buying stuff when i've been in there.
They should be calling it "The Fail Sale".

  • 40% off customer service perhaps, but nothing substantial that I could see. Now if they only took 40% off tools, they'd have an empty toolshop!

  • Nah, went there, came out empty handed. Fail sale!

  • Went there today, didn't buy anything.

Previously deals are way better, like many ozbargainers said.

Only worth to visit if you are nearby or ready to buy at normal price.

Hi Everyone, here is the latest pricing update that has come out today. Discounts are calculated by department.
