  • this one only has 32gb memory…

    • I changed it.

    • +3

      "only" 32 GB :) How the world has changed.
      /me thinks back to 8086 days and the 10 Meg HDD.

        • +5

          I'd love a link to where the industry defined that as standard as of a few years ago.

        • -1

          @tessel: gsmarena phone finder, look carefully at the release date

        • +1

          @lovepeoplenotmoney:
          The release date mentions that 64 gigs is the standard now?

        • -4

          @Rorschach: The release date of 64GB phones demonstrated how long ago the standard has not been reached

        • @lovepeoplenotmoney:
          Has NOT been reached?
          Assuming you meant "has been reached":
          By that same logic, shouldn't it have been 128GB? That too, announced in 2013

          :)

        • -2

          @Rorschach: Equivocation is illogical and needless. To focus on the point, when 64GB was offered as a standard option variant, the release date marked the time when 64GB is a standard. Since the release date, the lack of 64GB variant options have not been offered, therefore the standard has not been reached for a long time let alone surpassed with 128GB

        • +1

          @lovepeoplenotmoney: The last four comments you made are illogical and needless starting with the statement about the standard you imagined.

        • -1

          @Diji1: Any reasoning to support or is your opinion just wasting effort to type?

        • -1

          @lovepeoplenotmoney:

          Equivocation is illogical and needless.

          It sure is, would you refrain from doing so?

          If the release of a 64GB variant (the make and year of which we're still clueless about) made it a "standard", why does my example not count?

          It's perfectly fine setting your own standards, and thereby not deciding to buy a phone that does not meet it, but saying it is the industry standard requires a more backing than the one you're providing.

          I'm not really sure if you're trolling or not, your last post definitely makes me inclined to feel so.

        • +2

          @lovepeoplenotmoney:
          looks like Iphone has been failing to meet that standard for a while now…

        • -2

          @Rorschach: Self-projection is as illogical as equivocation but also presents a lot about yourself, therefore refrain from its practice as a poor attempt to derail the focus of the node branch. No one said your example doesn't count, whatever you conclude is merely your conclusion because of the confirmation bias mindset.

          Back to focus on the point, the industry standard is what specs trail blazers put on offer consistently and force the competition to try to keep up. The criticism of the first original response by xyron was warranted in complaining that only 32GB is offered when better specs have been offered for a long time. The backing of the release dates of specs these brands is not provided by me but actually provided by the brands themselves. Therefore, like your equivocation and self-projection, responding with ill-logic just wastes time. Instead be humble when you need to learn something and synthesise thought because forums are for progressing a discussion rather than arguing with a closed mind.

        • -1

          @rickyygee: Wouldn't look at iPhone but if what you say is true, a phone finder search wouldn't list any iPhones. But what point are you trying to make?

        • +1

          @lovepeoplenotmoney:
          swoosh
          You're completely missing the point others are trying to make. And you definitely don't know to make yours, as evidenced by the number of negs.

          How about you try to address the below points without all the flair and brouhaha? A simple yes/no will do.

          1. The assumption you make of this 64 GB standard, is because phones offered such a variant?
          2. If so, like me and @rickyygee pointed out, shouldn't 128 GB be the new standard?

          Oh, and I have a 64 GB variant. So I'm trying to understand where you're coming from. The mighty eagle may have to come down to my level for that.

          Instead be humble when you need to learn something and synthesise thought because forums are for progressing a discussion rather than arguing with a closed mind.

          Really, bro? Be humbled that I learnt something? I'm learning every day as I browse these forums, but your comment has had zero value.

          Statements like these without providing actual citations to back your claim seem to be as illogical as equivocation but also presents a lot about yourself, therefore refrain from its practice as a poor attempt to derail the focus of the node branch. Also, they seem to confirm that whatever you conclude is merely your conclusion because of the confirmation bias mindset.
          How about you practice what you preach?

          And, I'll leave you with this :)

        • +1

          @Rorschach:

          I'm with you and have to say although I know what "loveopeoplenotmoney" is trying to convey, but not making clear and also not living up to his user name.

          "The Standard has been 64GB for a couple of years now" for most logical people "The standard inbuilt memory" = consider price/brand/micro sd slot to get the appropriate approximate "STANDARD", SIMPLE AS THAT!

        • +1

          @ozhunter68:
          Lol, thanks mate!

        • +1

          @Rorschach:

          Just sticking up for a fair point, he was just out to keep arguing for the sake of it. Had to say something to shut him up!

    • +2

      You're confusing memory with data storage. 32GB of inbuilt data storage. Memory is completely different it has 4GB of memory (Random Access Memory or RAM for short).

      Also when was a phone with an inbuilt 32GB of data storage as not much.

      • So flash memory?

      • Before telling people that they are confusing, please read details again carefully.

        Your actually wrong here, as both RAM and data storage is usually reffered to as memory. RAM as RAM memory, and inbuilt memory as ROM memory, often as HHD for computers.

  • +2

    Will this run PokemonGo?

    • +4

      Sure will

  • Jebus how come its so cheap? Spec sheet looks really good

    • Snapdragon 810 - 2015 CPU

    • -5

      I believe its cheap because it uses Snapdragon 810 which Qualcomm said will never get Nougat.

      Also Band 28?

      • +1

        Wow even the 810 won't get Nougat? Thought it was only just Snapdragon 800,801,805? What about the Nexus 6P it uses 810 but has Nougat?

        • Nougat.. now you've just made me hungry.

      • +1

        not true.
        Sony 810's are getting Android N. I think it depends on the GPU, not so much CPU.

      • +2

        You're confused with the older Snapdragon 800/801. -they need to support Vulkan or OpenGL ES 3.1 for 7.0 Nougat.
        805 is OK i think as it supports 3.1.

        The Snapdragon 810 was the one with the overheating processor.

        No B28.

        • Curiously I'm on to my second 810 device and have yet to face this overheating problem.

          I'm going to guess that reviewers and users have nfi what they're talking about because (apart from this usually being the case) I'm guessing that the manufacturer sets the thermal solutions including heat dissapation and throttling regime, not Qualcomm. I'm basing this on the fact that this is what Intel does with it's mobile processors.

          Therefore it doesn't make sense to say 810 CPU's have an overheating problem it only makes sense to say certain devices do.

          I could be wrong.

        • @Diji1: i think people blow the s810 overheating issue out of proportion too much. I have the nexus 6p and it only got lightly warm when i watch video/play game while charging. It could be because of amazing software support from custom ROM n kernel or my game isn't cpu/gpu intensive enough but I still believe the s810 would do fine under normal usage, also a little tweak like underclocking from device manufacturers can help with the issue significantly

  • no feedback from any buyers (looks like only one sale) for this phone.

  • i have this exact phone at the moment, there is little software support and im crossing my fingers at even getting 6.0, currently mines running on 5.1 but the specs are great for the price

    • +1

      How's the battery life? 3000mAh seems a bit small for a 1440p screen.

      • +1

        Very avg as youd expect on this screen. About 1.5 days on light use

  • +3

    I can confirm that the build quality on this one is really good but the software is very crap. The factory software came with malware's and only just recently letv released a malware free ROM. XDA developers forums are empty interms of development and CM 12 is very buggy.

    • +1

      the build quality is very solid and is up there with flagships, full metal and weighty feel

    • CM 12 is very buggy.

      Has anyone used a CM ROM that didn't feature random reboots as a feature?

    • So, was there an OTA software update to fix malware issues now in Australia for this model? How is software now if improved?

      • +1

        No OTA until I flashed the official usa

  • +1

    the specs seem good for the price. good post

  • +1

    i would pull the trigger at this price, i got it for alot more and still feels like bargain.

    • Thanks for feedback. How is the software now. Please see my comment above.

      • +1

        software is fine, just use Cuaco92's modified stock rom, i dont have malware problem on mine

  • Good specs for the price. The only thing letting it down is the SD 810, but it's still great for $218.

  • Snapdragon 810

    Hopefully this phone does have a heating issue

    • i agree i hope it does have a heating issue

      • +1

        So I can keep my hands warm during the winter.

  • +1

    I bought from banggood and confirm the Malware on factory software - I've managed to flash a cyanogen rom from xda but really more hassle than I wanted. Can confirm the heating too - really cooks while running pokemon, but apart from that, now I've got malware free software, I'm pretty happy with this thing.

  • Outstanding specifications for the money, just … I LUV CHINA!

    • I LUV STRAYA!

  • +1

    almost all galaxy note 5 specs in 4x less price

    • +1

      Note 5's 7420 kills the 810 and has a pen. But you're right, it's much better value.

      However I'd take a Note 4 over this because it has an SD card slot and no overheating.

  • +1

    LeTV has some awesome spec phones for a good price. However I'd prefer to pay a little more for something like XRN3P or Xiaomi Mi Max. Better mod and community support. Also pretty good stock OS.

  • +6

    I would not recommend this phone for the everyday girl / guy. I bought one for my wife from the last AliExpress deal and here are the findings:

    • good specs for price
    • solid feel
    • heavy
    • big (can be a good or bad thing because of screen)
    • screen colours are good enough, but not better than my note3

    • most important point is related to what dailygringo said. The phone's software comes with a nice surprise package of extremely annoying malware. It is a package that auto installs other packages (at least 5 other bloatware / adware / spyware apps) and you can't do anything about it because the executor of the installs is a SYSTEM app, that you can't remove without root access. Ads pop up randomly and often, sometimes showing pornographic material, which is a massive issue when you have kids that use the phone. Don't bother using an antivirus off the store, because they all don't work without root access.

    Luckily, like dailygringo, I have rooted other phones before, so I did that and used Stubborn Trojan Killer (from the store) to kill it using root access. I feel like I should warn others of this, and on grounds of defective product I have to neg this deal. Software and hardware are part of the product.

    • +1

      Good description. You can now install a malware free ROM though straight from letv. No root required. Just download it from the XDA website.

      • +1

        Thanks, I looked on the XDA website, can you share your link? I found lots of links and it seems Roms differ for CN or USA version? I assume this phone is the CN version - which ROM is the newest and cleanest, I got lost on 48 forum pages on XDA…

        • +2

          http://forum.xda-developers.com/leeco-le1-pro/help/clean-rom…

          look couple of comments below for instructions.

          no root required. simple factory flashing using update.zip

        • +1

          @bamsegod: Thanks very much mate! I assume this "clean USA" version is OK to flash on China version phone? Have you done it? Also, this is Android 5, correct, since S15 and up are Android 6. Can this "clean Rom" update itself to Android 6?

        • +2

          @econzune:
          Yes I have a 64gb version though. Ordered from aliexpress. It worked fine.

        • +2

          @econzune:
          I think it is still 5.0

    • Thanks for great feedback. Have you tried to install new updated rom?

      Weight is 177 Gram.

      What is the set up of second sim? 2G only suppose?

  • This phone has no Band 28, is that correct?

    • Correct. Should not be a deal breaker for most though.

  • Hmm. This or Sony C5 Ultra ?

    • Neither of them are good. Get a Redmi Note 3.

  • My unit arrived today
    Preloaded with Android v6.0.1
