What is the model everyone bought which they were canceled?

I bought the non dual sim model and still have not received any cancelation email.

    • I purchased the Dual sim s7

      • I have a feeling they are canceling the orders for Dual Sim s7 edge only.

edit: i was wrong. finger cross mine does not get canceled.

    • +1

      S7 edge silver single SIM
      S7 edge black dual SIM

      both were cancelled tonight

    • Hope you get it. Many got cancelled either single or dual.

  • Cancelled my S7E silver single sim. :(

Have sent a message on eBay to ask them to hornor the order otherwise I'll take some 'legal' action.

  • +1

Same as everyone else here. Black S7E Dual Sim cancelled. :/

  • For those of you who received your cancellation notice for the S7E G935FD, did anyone order silver???

I ordered one of these and I noticed just now on their website that this is the only colour option still showing as available for the S7E. I'm yet to receive anything from them and I'm hoping I might get lucky

Also I just checked my ebay account and they've left feedback for the transaction already. If you received one of these cancellation emails, had they left feedback already on Ebay?

Everyone who gets a cancellation should definately contact Ebay to complain stating the obvious as to what they're doing, especially when we could see them raising the prices as they were flying out the door

    • +3
      • have you received the cancellation email?

        • +1

i ordered silver and got cancelled

        • +1

          @Cityonahill:

bugger - I think i might contact them via their live chat through their website tomorrow pretending to be a new customer who is looking to buy a S7E and is wanting to confirm if they have it in stock….I think I know what the answer will be.

Armed with this evidence I'll be complaining to Ebay

        • I got the cancellation notice a couple of hours ago, so you might be lucky.

      • That doesn't mean they "really" have stocks. What they are saying they will try to find stocks after getting your money. If they can't find after 2 days then they will refund.

    • +2

Yes, I ordered the second last one they had. And yes, they left me feedback quite quickly after the order was placed and also sent me a cancellation email earlier tonight.

I was thinking along a mix of lines. Like, isn't the seller "COMMITTED TO SELL" in the same way we as buyer are to buy? There probably should be consequences of failing to honour this commitment. Well at least on eBay? We all know what's going on with these cancellations and a refund is an easy way out for ShoppingSquare! They might get away with it broadly when it comes to the ACL, coz if they can't supply there bound to refund..but can we refuse the refund and insist them on supplying the product considering a clean transaction is in place??

      • +5

I doubt eBay will give a rats. This is from their customer service page about reporting a seller.

"Seller no longer wants to sell or send the item:

If you haven't paid for the item, you can agree with the seller to cancel the order.

If you paid for the item, the seller must refund the full amount within 10 business days. If you don't receive the refund on time, report it to us so we can help you resolve the issue."

        • +1

Not ever buying from these guys. I've done so in the past. Crooks!

      • They probably didn't have items in hand when they try to sell to customers on eBay or their website. It's more like a promise. After they receive money from the buyers they will look for stocks from suppliers. That's how they do business I would imagine to avoid losses and making huge profit.

      • " When you list an item, you enter into a legally binding contract to complete the transaction if the item is sold. If you cancel the transaction, there could be other negative ramifications. See the eBay User Agreement. "

Still can't find what those negative ramifications are though :/

    • There is "Report Item" on the item page that you might want to try.

  • +3

Hmn, I also just got the cancellation email. Now, what the hell am I going to do with an S7 case, screen protector and the 128 GB SD card which was also bought from SS >_<.

I feel like this was a lure to buy the phone accessory for the phone that I was never going to get.

  • +1

The least I can do to this pathetic company is to give them a negative review on ebay. One way or another, someone gonna pay for the case and tempered glass film I purchased which now are totally useless!

    • +1

Negative review might be useless. They can create new ebay store easily or they may even have multiple stores under different names now.

  • +1

Went and bought a Gear VR, case and screen protector and have my order cancelled…. FML.

  • I still haven't received a cancellation email…..anyone else in the same boat???

  • +1

For those who got cancelled, check if they have left any ebay feedback on your account. If they did, that would be inappropriate for ebay and can definitely report this to ebay.

    • +2

Yeap good point. I have now reported them on two transactions.

  • I still have not received any cancelation email. Maybe i got lucky. Anyone phone got shipped yet?

  • I received cancellation email for my S7 dual sim G930FD

I ordered two, one gold and one black. for my wife and me

  • Has anyone been in contact with the store?
I've been speaking with them via eBay messaging and it seems like I need to confirm the cancellation.

    Dear xxxx,
Unfortunately we are having issues with our supplier hence we are unable to fulfill the order and we are unable to guarantee if the item will be available soon.
Please confirm with us if you could accept the cancellation request from us and we will follow up to issue you with a full refund asap.
Your prompt response is much appreciated.
Again, our apologies for the inconvenience caused.

I'm wondering if there is a worldwide shortage of S7E due to the Note 7 recall.
All Note 7 people are getting an S7E as a temporary replacement handset while this exploding battery issue is getting sorted out.

    • I just got roughly the same message. I'm tempted to say that I'm willing to wait for the phone. I bought the black dual SIM s7.

"Actual stock number is not being seen in our online store. Unfortunately we are having issues with our supplier hence we are unable to fulfill the order.

Please confirm with us if you could accept the cancellation request from us and we will follow up with a full refund afterwards.

Your prompt response is much appreciated.

Again our apologies for any inconvenience caused.

      Best Regards,
      Customer Service Team
      ShoppingSquare (division of Apus Corporation)"

      • I didnt even get that option. I would reply back and ask what happens if you want to wait for stock to come in and not cancel. Or you will cancel only if they reimburse you for the accessorises you bought for said phone. Their reply would then be telling.

        • +1

I've tried that just now, let's wait and see what they say.

        • +4

I've now asked if they can hold onto the money til New stock arrives. I'll check back when I get a reply.

        • +10

          @jonnpommy:

Had I received the optional email my response would be as follows-

Thank you for your reply Shopping Square. I am disappointed to find out that an item I purchased in good faith as being available is now not available due to a supply issue. I request that you hold on to my order for 30 days, and hopefully your stock issue will be rectified during the interim.

Should I see a listing during this period on Ebay for this product I will take this as acknowledgement that your stock issue has been rectified and would expect my item to be shipped forthwith. After a 30 period if no stock becomes available please cancel my order and process my refund.

          Regards,
          Spizz

That way at least they won't be able to list stock on Ebay for 30 days (well after this promotion finishes) which would give me a small piece of satisfaction if in fact they are stalling on supplying stock due to this promotion.

        • +1

          @Spizz:

Just received this request rather than a reply from ShoppingSquare:

"shoppingsquare recently opened a cancel transaction case for an item you recently purchased: Samsung Galaxy Edge S7 G935FD 4G 32GB Dual SIM Unlocked Black * AU Warranty *.

Reason for cancel transaction request: The seller did not provide a specific reason.

Click the "Respond now" button to accept or decline this cancellation."

          Hmmm…

        • @qu4ng88: same. I'm tempted to hit decline.

I'm still waiting for eBay to get back to me.

        • @qu4ng88: Please don't accept until you receive your money. That way you are covered by ebay. Otherwise, you are on your own without getting your money back.

        • @qu4ng88: Same. And exactly same as what jesseboy89 said..

        • @ozlab:

I just declined the cancellation, I thought I am still protected by paypal?

        • @ozlab: surely a chargeback is still in play…

Plus PayPal still has the dispute process. Although I note the eBay warning on the cancellation request page.

In any case I'm annoyed, as they never responded to my message.

        • @ozlab:

Definitely didn't accept, I was going to wait until I saw everyone else's course of action - I am following suit with the decline. Not sure what benefit they get from cancelling this - surely eBay are paying the 20% discount OR is the discount split between eBay and the store owner?

        • @qu4ng88:

Denied the request too - if they still list my phone on their website and I can buy it through there i'm not backing down.

        • +6

@qu4ng88: From what I know, if you deny the request, the seller still has to pay ebay listing fee, which is not cheap. Of course, the seller still has to refund your money in the case the seller cannot give you the item. So it's a win solution for buyer. Normally seller cancel the order because they sell the item below the expected price after learning it from the suppliers. Most Hong Kong or Chinese sellers get item from suppliers after they secure your money and they don't have items on their hands.

        • @ozlab:
But if the seller has to pay the fee, which I believe is 10%, they still get reimbursed the full 20% from ebay due to the sale code?

        • @scraggers: If that's true, it's better to contact ebay and report this. There is a report seller section when you login and go to contact us.

        • @scraggers:

If I'm understanding correctly, I'd imagine there's two possible outcomes:

          1. Seller retracts the sale - they would have to refund our money and pay the 10% eBay fee.

          2. Seller finalises the sale - they would keep our money, eBay reimburses 10% from the sale (20% ebay reimbursement minus the 10% ebay fee).

So it's in their best interest to sell us the phones otherwise they will have to pay the fees out of their own pocket.

I'm probably going to hold off on reporting them until I see their next course of action.

        • @ozlab:

Yes you should reject the offer to cancel if you haven't received your refund yet. Even Ebay tells you so when choosing an option to reply back to the offer to cancel-

How would you like to respond?
I accept the seller's request to cancel this transaction.

You should only accept the cancellation request if you haven't paid yet or you've already received your refund from the seller. If you haven't received
          your refund, contact the seller

          OR

I decline the seller's request to cancel this transaction

          I selected the decline option.

This ebay ad looks suspiciously similar to Shopping Square. ShoppingDaily have a very new website too which doesn't have their ebay items on it.

    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Samsung-Galaxy-S7-Edge-G935FD-4G-…

    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/222061313256

    • +1

Looks like another front for their business…surely that isn't allowed on eBay?

  • What's the best current deal on the S7 edge?

  • +1

I still haven't received a cancellation email and it hasn't been marked as sent, so I'm not sure what's happening with the silver G935FD I ordered.

I did however get a response from Shopping Square's website using a different name and advising them I'm looking to buy a silver G935FD and did they have any in stock. Their response was "After checking this item is available .kindly please place an order if you still want it"

I think i'll wait a little longer as the last phone I bought off them (also a G935FD) on the 17th August wasn't sent until the 25th August

  • +1

Order cancelled. No good no good!

  • +1

Mine got cancelled as well. I received the email the other day and the request to cancel the transaction today which I declined because they haven't refunded my payment. Anyone got their money back yet?

    • Not yet.

    • not yet either

    • Just received my refund.

  • +1

I finally got my cancellation email.

I'm going to respond to them saying I'm happy to wait until they get more stock in (whenever that might be) and see what they come back with

    • The answer I got was "Unfortunately we are unable to guarantee that the items will be available anytime soon."

      • +1

that's fine and I told them that in my email.

This phone is simply a spare so I'm in no rush to receive it. We'll see what they say - realistically I can't image they'll go too long without any stock of the S7's….especially since the recall on the Note 7 which is likely to bring even more S7 sales.

        • Hope it works out for you. I couldn't wait, so I took the refund and found this deal today instead.

          https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/265058

Cost me $100 more, but it's still a reasonable price and it's already under way. :)

        • @wombat1955:

Yeah I saw that - that's my plan B at this stage

    • +1

Oh WHAT?!? Just got this on my black single SIM edge. Used vouchers etc on accessories also ffs

    • Have you received a response yet?

It's been two days since I told them I'd wait and so far no reply.

And it's been more than a day since I declined their cancellation request and so far no reply to that either.

It would be good to know where we stand.

      • Nope - haven't heard anything from them yet

      • I declined their cancellation via email and then declined the cancellation through eBay.
The eBay status says case is closed.

        What happens from here?
We automatically get refunded by PayPal?

I've never gone through a cancellation before

  • I also just got my cancelation email from them. Very disappointed that they only told me today. Luckily i stopped buying accessories when i saw people here saying they are rejecting sales.

  • My order was cancelled 2 hrs ago or so ago as well.

Black single sim Edge. Poor form to cancel orders at such a late stage.

It may have something to do with the Note 7 recall though I suppose?

    • +1

No. Not because of Note 7.

  • +10

So I did some Inspector Clouseau-ing with the website customer support. Enquiring about a Black S7 Dual Sim.
It looks like they can still order them, it can take some time (7-14 working days) to get stock to the warehouse. BUT THEY STILL HAVE THAT ABILITY.
They must be unwilling to put in an order for "our" phones due to the bargain prices.

    Script:

    Me:

    Hi there,
    I'm interested in purchasing 3 of the same phone;
Samsung Galaxy S7 Dual Sim G930FD 4G 32GB Unlocked Smartphone Black
I am in need of them ASAP, Do you have 3 of this in stock? And if so, would they be coming from the Australian warehouse, or from outside Australia?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Many Thanks,

    Shoppingsquare:

    Dear XXXX,

Regarding the item you mentioned please note it requires7-14 working days handling time before dispatching and it will ship from our overseas warehosue .

    Best Regards,
    Shoppingsquare.com.au (Apusauction)

    Me:

That's an acceptable time frame for me.
Just for clarification, you do have these phones in stock?

    Shoppingsquare

    Dear XXXX,

please let us know when do you want it .as we need at least 3-7 working days handling time for the new new stock coming .

    Best Regards,
    Shoppingsquare.com.au (Apusauction)

    • Hmmm, made me think whether i should just accept the refund or just ask them to supply me when they have stock…

Since Ebay is covering the difference, Shopping Square is not selling at a lower price right? So i don't get why they are refusing the sale.

      • Because it's putting a price low on the product (re-enforcing the august low), devaluing it quicker.

      • I was questioning this yesterday until scraggers comment that mentioned that they get charged a 10% ebay fee which essentially brings it down to the same price other retailers are selling for, e.g. DWI https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/265058

        Perhaps it's greed?

    • Do you have screenshots of the conversation?

      • I can but my post above, is essentially copy and paste with a little bit of clearing up (dates, names, feedback etc…)

    • +6

I understand they are trying to hide the stocks for a reason if they are honest to me and explain clearly. After all, it's a business driven by profit. But I can't understand why they are trying to lie and saying different thing to me by saying no stock available from all sources. If they can lie on this one thing, they can lie on many other things.

      • +4

I agree. They could have been honest and said that the code was only meant to be applied to their outlet store and not their main store, as per the official ebay list of participants. Then offered a discount coupon of some sort for the inconvenience to those who had their orders cancelled. As it stands, everyone is now angry with them, will not trust them in future and will most likely provide very negative feedback.

        • +1

I'm in complete agreeance. I'd much rather be told to upfront, than being lied to.
If this doesn't go through, I will be writing up a negative review, as they produced a service, that will never eventuate.

  • +9

These guys are lying. I registered a new account on their website as asked about the availability of the s7 Edge. Their response last night was:

ME: Hi there, just wondering if you have the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge G935FD silver version in stock please? Many thanks!

    • I tried too like you did and getting same replies.

  • shoppingsquare replied me that I have to accept the cancellation request then they can issue a refund for me, is that what I should do for the refund?

Since I saw comment above said "You should only accept the cancellation request if you haven't paid yet or you've already received your refund from the seller. If you haven't received
    your refund, contact the seller"?

    Any help? thanks!

    • I accepted the cancellation and immediately instigated a paypal dispute. My refund was made within 24 hours.

    • I also have not received a refund. I have a feeling that they will not refund unless until we accept the cancellation request?
What is the best way to do this? Should we initiate a paypal dispute?

    • They will have to refund to you either you accept/decline.
If you choose to decline, they have to pay ebay for listing fee.
If you choose to accept, they don't pay any fee to ebay.

  • +1

There is no hope. I told them I can wait for the stock to come in but they are adamant that they won't be able to supply it. I just going to take my refund and never buy from them again.

  • +5

    An update.

I have contacted Ebay (via the call me option in the contact section) that I haven't received a refund from ShoppingSquare and had only received a cancellation email where from the 2 offered options I choose the one that Ebay recommended in the options ie. Decline Cancellation as I haven't received a refund.

They said that I choose the correct option in Declining the cancellation without a refund first.

I was told not to worry. I will 100% received my money back and what do is what till the shipping deadline which I believe is the 20th of September and if ShoppingSquare has not delivered the item by that date I can file a PayPal/Ebay dispute where I will received my refund.

What I imagine will happen is when the 30-40 buyers whom were stuffed around here file their disputes ShoppingSquare may have a few questions to answer to Ebay and even more so Paypal. So it may cost them more in the long run. Time will tell.

I recommend everyone does their due diligence and contacts Ebay for their own situation and how to proceed.

    • I also called Ebay and they gave me similar advice.
They said to wait till the shipping deadline and then initiate a dispute.
They also said what the seller did was not right and they'll file a report on their ebay account.
Also they said its up to the buyer whether they choose to accept or decline the cancel request. Either way we will get a refund or the item, but if we choose to decline they'll have to pay ebay fees.

      • Hmm interesting. Thinking of doing the same thing, just so i can teach shopping square a lesson.

        • I considered doing the same, but didn't like the idea of them hanging on to my money any longer than necessary, so opted to cancel to speed up the refund process. All done and dusted, money deposited back in my account and spent again on new S7E from another supplier. It arrived in Adelaide today from Hong Kong and is being delivered on Monday.

        • @wombat1955:

Who did you buy from and what did it set you back?

        • +1

          @tight-ass: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/265058

Cost me an extra $100, but at least it's from a more reputable company and I know it's almost at my doorstep.

      • I declined their request to cancel the transaction.I don't mind punishing Shoppingsquare.
I Might have a chat with EBAY just to show that there were many that got burnt by Shoppingsquare's decision to pull the product.

May I ask, where you made your complaint to?

        • +3

I did the same earlier today and apparently I'll get a response back within 24hrs. I provide them with links to this deal and advised them to read the comments as proof that everyone had theirs cancelled. Also provided proof of the chat I had with Shopping Square's website where they advised they had stock.

          Go here - http://ocsnext.ebay.com.au/ocs/cuhome?

Below is the response I received from Ebay today:

Thank you for contacting eBay reporting the transaction you had with shoppingsquare. We appreciate your time in reporting this to us.

I'm glad that you reported this to us. Please be assured that your report has been properly documented and reported to our Listing team as weel as the seller's account manager. They will further investigate on this report first before taking any actions. Once proven that the seller has violated our policies we will definitely take action on their account and their listings.

Our actions may include issuing a warning, temporary or indefinite suspension, or terminating the membership. We may not able to disclose to you the result of our investigation due to privacy reasons.

At the same time, as a buyer, you have the power to leave an appropriate feedback on the seller’s account to share your experience with the transaction and to help our eBay community evaluate the seller's performance on the site. Your Feedback will either help or affect the seller's business or sales on the site.
Eventually, if this is really how the seller performs, then most probably they will get several negative feedbacks from other buyers. If that happens we can definitely do something.

Thanks again for taking the time to report this and helping us keep eBay a safe place to buy and sell.

Enjoy the rest of your day and you take care always.

    Sincerely,

    Rieza B.
