  • I have the 1200'which i bought at this price. Bugger

    • Try flogging it off on FeeBay or Scumtree and upgrade.

I'd prefer the Asus RT-AC68U ($191) or Netgear R7000 ($221) which are both cheaper. TP-Link Archer C9 for $183 might be suitable too.

    • I'm waiting for the AC68U to come down in price… but Futu has it all jacked up. Going to install DD-WRT on my aging router to give it some new life

      • I previously had the RTN56U before I upgraded to the WRT1900ACS. I don't really like Asus. I had to use the Padavan's custom firmware to be able to use it. Had to keep rebooting it. Because of this, I wouldn't go back to Asus. I did compare the linksys to the AC88U but it is way too expensive!

      • Asus RT-AC68U ($191)

I haven't seen it much cheaper than this … ~170 with a memory card or something from memory.

  • NBN ready router

Does this mean anything, or is it just marketing spin? Aren't all routers "NBN ready"?

    • +1

I suspect it is a marketing gimmick to get uninformed people to think that they need a special router. Although having said that, I've read on whirlpool some people have problems and need to set their routers to bridge mode or clone the mac address of their modem to work on NBN. Wireless1 has a note on their eBay page saying FTTN and FTTP don't work with this router, but they are wrong. I have FTTP and it worked out of the box without having to tweak any settings.

  • I still have a WRT54G :P
