Adelaide Metro Free Train Travel on Thursday 15 September

540

Adelaide rail commuters will be offered free travel on Thursday next week, the day after a stoppage will affect some day-time services.

South Australian Transport Minister Stephen Mulligan said free train services on September 15 would be some compensation for recent transport disruption.

$5.30 for a regular adult single trip during peak travel. Regular uses would have a MetroCard which is $3.54 per trip.

Assuming you ride it twice, more than 2 hours apart, this would mean 2 tickets saved = $10.60.

    • too much for what it is

I freaking hate Sydney's transport system, now they are charging us for half day Friday when it used to be free. Yeah, let's put a freeze on fares until next year but rob you by removing the free fares on Fridays's.. pfftt.. w@nkers!!

this is a real slap in the face for folk that have the 28days pass, we get nothing.

what compensation do i get? hrmm

    • Damn just realised I just topped up my account yesterday with the 28 day pass this month …

Why the down votes!? It's a valid point.

      • +10

Improper use of a negative vote, I suspect. The fact that a user is not eligible for a deal is not a reason to neg the deal.

    • I believe that they will give you an extra day on your pass if you ask them.

      • how did you work that out?

        • +1

Has been confirmed before. I don't know how to link it

    • Of course - you've already showed that you're willing to pay to travel in the future and if you don't it's even better for them because not only do they have your money they have another seat to sell.

  • So in Adelaide you can't claim for an extra day if you have a 28 day pass which is effectively the sane as a monthly ticket in Melbourne?

    • Yep they added the 13th month to the year.

The pricing has been carefully applied so that it's only worthwhile if you do 2 journeys a day. If you don't these trips the time limitation renders it more expensive.

  • I miss the urine smell in the train
