Some nice daily deals from Amazon.

Toshiba Canvio Connect II 3TB Portable Hard Drive, Red US$96.6 (~AU $126)

SanDisk Ultra 200GB Micro SD US$65.04 (~AU $85)

Toshiba OCZ Trion 150 480GB 2.5" 7mm SATA III Internal Solid State Drive US$95.73 (~AU $125)

From Previous Post (thanks samba):

I know people are a bit wary of the OCZ name but they've improved a lot recently, and they have one of, if not the best replacement warranties you can get at the moment. If you have a failure within the warranty period, they will express advance ship you a replacement, and, if I recall correctly, a shipping label to return your defective unit at no cost to you.

Speeds are good at 550 R / 530 W.

For casual smartphone usage, which one should i get?

  • Two hundred Giggawatts SD card!!?!?!??

    • +1

Samsung have a 256gb model two, but this 200gb Sandisk one is an awesome price

Soon there will be SD cards over 9000GB!!!

  • Toshy 3TB is that a single 2.5" SATA drive that can be extracted and used elsewhere?

    • I'm not sure about this product specifically but in the past my experience with these high capacity Portable/2.5" drives is that they are actually a bit thicker than a Standard 2.5" drive, so if you were planning to put it in something like a laptop it's unlikely to fit.

    • Only 99% sure on that - no.

As far as I remember, the 3GB - 2.5" HDDs are a bit taller (15mm) and do not fit into a laptop (if that was your target).

  • Tempted … I could fit a lot of 80Mbit 4K video on that.

  • Awesome I'm after a portable HD!!

I have never used Amazon before however, do I need to use a shipping forwarder?

do I need to use a shipping forwarder

Only if the seller doesnt ship to australia.

Pretty much all the amazon deals posted on ozbargain will ship to australia.

You can also save a couple bucks by getting it delivered to a local pickup point (eg. the liquor barons on my street)

        • @Maverick-au:

Yep I hardly ever go on Amazon so I wasn't familiar with the layout and all that. I was assuming it would be easier to find from the home page like on a banner or something.

  • This 200gb ultra card or 128gb extreme for 4K action cam?

    • +2

This card will only give ~15mbps (megabits) for sequential write, which will most likely struggle to keep up with 4K recording. The 128GB Extreme for comparison allows "up to 60mbps." Source.

      • Thanks for the info, 128gb extreme card it is then.

  • Man being eyeing off the Canvio connect 2 for use between mac and pc and boom this came up…thanks op!

        • thanks for your reply

when you purchased it yesterday did it mention anything about usually ships in 1-2 months by any chance?

        • +1

@niren1706: Nope it said 'in stock' when I bought one. Estimated delivery 21-28 September.

        • +1

@niren1706: No, immediately delivery: mine says "shipping today". Just checked.

  • Does the "express advance ship replacement" apply to purchases to countries outside of US?
