  • Is Vaya on Optus?

  • is vaya same as live connected? can I transfer my plan from LC to vaya in an easy way?

    • Hi there, you will have to port out and then port in to Vaya. This means you can take advantage of the VAYA3 promo. Please let me know if you need any assistance with this.

Most importantly, have you upped the customer service?
Or do your management still blatantly lie & misrepresent on Whirlpool & Facebook?

    • +3

Improving the customer experience here is something we are always working on. We know we still have a ways to go but it is definitely a priority for us. If you would like to shoot through the link to the whirlpool and Facebook comments that are untrue then I will look into patching those up.

These guys are criminals. These rates are average at best and the network service is terrible in Sydney CBD and around metro sydney, my parents who are still on live connected/vaya get 3mb/s in Maroubra and when I was with them I would get a max of like 10mb/s in Sydney CBD, often much much lower (honestly though, that is optus' fault). But, customer service is something that is vaya's responsibility and it is even worst than the reception.

I ported out of vaya over a year ago and they still owe me a refund on the $20 "deposit" they stole from me (they literally charged everyone a $20 fee as a deposit even if you were an existing customer, this was not part of the T&C's I singed up for). When I first signed up too they (profanity) up my port beyond belief and I was left without a phone for 3 days. They also managed to bill me incorrectly and overcharge me the first month (didn't bother with the pro-rata). I also was travelling in south america for 6 weeks and my SIM card wasn't ever in a phone for that period of time, for some reason during the month I was completely away for I had managed to rack up 300mb of data usage. I understand that things can go wrong in the standard operation of a business, but this mob don't even have a decent customer service team to look after you when things go wrong.

Avoid at all costs, unless you like dealing with shitty service, unhelpful customer service and phantom data usage.

edit: oh and they frequently change their plans and force the changes on you. My father is with live connected and is currently paying an extra $9 a month for being on a 'grandfathered' plan. I'm working on convincing him to get off this mob. Do not trust these guys.

I ported away from Vaya something like a year ago when they went from charging data by the KB to by the MB, without notice, so that I would be going over my limit really easily.

Support was terrible. The network was average. Dealing with them is a nightmare. I don't know if anything will have improved since I was with them, but I wouldn't recommend them to my worst enemy.

Yep, I ported both of my parents away from Vaya when they were forcing the fee just to keep the old plans.
As with you they didn't refund the $40 total for both numbers.

I recommend not dealing with Vaya if you don't want to be screwed over which is bound to happen again.

If the rep here has any decency, a response to the $20 deposit refunds would be appreciated.

      • Hi Unco,

Sorry to hear about the experience. We will most definitely refund your deposit if you contact us on LiveChat or shoot through an email http://www.vaya.net.au/?option=Contact%20Us.

Please let me know if you have any trouble with this.

        Cheers, Ian

        • The same thing happened to me as well

Reading ozbargain about Vaya always confuses me. I've never had a problem with their support, after I ported out I gave them a call about my remaining account credit, and got a refund to my card within days..

    • Hi Cretin,

Terribly sorry to hear about your experience with us - can definitely understand how frustrating that would have been. Please do go ahead and contact us on LiveChat to get your $20 deposit back. We know we still have work to do but improving the customer experience here at Vaya is something we are certainly working hard on. Some of the changes we have made recently include:

      1. Removal of the $10 setup fee
      2. Introduced a free delivery option
      3. Removal of the $30 disconnection fee
      4. Introduced a Price Beat Guarantee that applies to new and existing customers

Again, sorry to hear about your experience and please let me know if you have any troubles getting your deposit back.

      All the best, Ian

    • What you're saying here happened to me too and in addition, I was charged for $1100 for data usage when I have mobile date switched off on my phone. They continued to direct debit my credit card twice after I cancelled my service. I would not sign with them…..they'll try to catch you in with contract and add other hidden fees later…AVOID AT ALL COST!!!…

    Telechoice. On Telstra . Better. Much better .. :-) .. !!

I've recently moved off Vaya and I'm gladly paying another provider a few extra bucks per month to not get shafted by any bs fees like $20 for a new sim

  • I read that as $3 for 3 months unlimited data :-)

  • +2

Same as above, they didn't refund my 20 deposit without me having to call and follow up.

The Optus $40 for 10gb deal is much better than $36 for 8GB - why would anyone port over to VAYA?

  • lol there will probably be a $50 keep your already paid for plan fee.

  • if anyone is looking for cheap plans, a very good post here from Whingepool:

    https://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum-replies.cfm?t=2562473#…

  • Lol wow, $3 off only…

  • So do existing users now get 8gb or new users only?

    • Hi there, all Vaya customers stay on their current plan by default. However, you can upgrade your plan in My Account at anytime. Please note that the plan change will come into effect on the first of next month. Shoot through if you need help with this.

      Ian

      • $5 plan change fee

        • The $5 plan change fee will apply.

          Ian

  • I joined up a few months ago and wasn't charged the $20 deposit? Has that been removed?

    • Hi Circly, it sure has. We have also removed the disconnection fee and introduced a Price Beat Guarantee for new and existing customers. If you want to learn more about the Price Beat Guarantee then check out this link https://secure.vaya.net.au/?option=Vaya%20Price%20Beat%20Gua…

      • After Vaya ripped off previous (myself included) customers enough and lost so many customers, now Vaya trying to attract new customers and ripped them off again at later date with new fees.

  • The $5 plan change fee; must be to discourage folks from changing their plan.

  • Hey rep, some people have posted that data is charged per MB and not per KB. Do you have any plans that are charged per KB?

    • Hey Janey, all our plans are charged per KB :)

      • Thank you.
