  • Does anyone have positive experiences with this table saw?
It surely is a good price for the weekend DIYer.

Bought one for my son but we took it back after a few months. You really only get what you pay for. The saw is ok but the guides are flimsy and inaccurate. Bunnings took it back no worries and we paid about $500 for a much nicer bit of gear which is a pleasure to use. Comes with a blade.

I bought one when I layed my bamboo floor.did over 100sqm. Used it for the length way cuts & it did a great job.. Sold it after I completed the job for $100.. I recommend it

As with most cheaper tools, the problem is with accuracy. I ended up returning it and going for a DeWalt, which I love.

  • That looks like a great price. handyman quality, but if you took it easy with it I'd think it would be fine.

    • Table saws are probably one of the most dangerous power tools on the market. A cheap one in the hands of an amateur is a recipe for disaster.

      • +2

I'd say any table saw in the hands of an amateur is a disaster.

All Power tool users should read safety notes in manual and there are a lot of videos showing how to safely use Power Tools. Cheap or Expensive are dangerous if you don't learn to use safely and don't know the machine and how wood behaves when being cut.
PowerTool Institute has a lot of videos on Power Tools

    Here's a review

    • Review is on a different model.

      • doh! thanks

That review is useful. Just scroll down a bit to the comment left by Henry which describes his experience with the 210mm model on sale here. He gives it a major bollocking.

I bought a "cheap" Ozito circular saw to cut 60kg limestone blocks with, as everyone told me never to use a circular saw for brick cutting, esp limestone. I probably cut around 30-odd bricks with it too. That was 8yrs ago and I've used it maybe 3-5 times a year since and it's still going string, although the laser guide died during said limestone cutting.

The other benefit to Ozito, is Bunnings do on-the-spot replacements for faulty good. Brand names require it to be sent back for repairs first.

For a $100 I'm going to see if my local has one!

They are getting the jump on ALDI, so expect the price to go back up once the ALDI deal ends.

  • Never known bunnings to do big drops just for the fun of it, is it clearance or a price match with another store?
edit stepto above says price match with Aldi

  • Looks iidentical to the aldi one

Every Ozito has either failed within few days or just doesn't do what it is designed to do.

    • +4

I've had a very different experience - very few failures (and those that did were used and abused), and with a 3 year warranty it was as simple as walking into bunnings with the receipt and walking out a few minutes later with a replacement from the shelf.

      You're doing it wrong :)

I have an ozito hammer drill, mixer, mitre saw, circular saw, jig saw and probably some others too.

All of these tools have worked perfectly for my home DIY projects.

The only one that broke (partially) was the nobs on the hammer drill started to come off after a lot of use but that's probably because I used it for bigger and tougher jobs than it was designed for.

  • great! picked one up at parafield about 8 left when i left

There are some tools that I just wish I never even tried buying cheap:
table saw and table mounted router are definitely to of them.

    It's only a bargain if it's useful :/

    • +2

Table saw and a big router is the last thing you want to cheap out on.

The more chance it has to kill or maim you, the more you should pay.

      • +7

That's why I'm still paying dearly for my wife…

        • you can make her happy in other way. :)

        • Sound like you don't have a big router and don't know how to table saw her :)

      • Still has to be better than my circular saw screwed to an old piece of wood and with the trigger cable tied on permanently.

    • Yeah.. Tried the Ozito router as well.. Still have it somewhere, but it's been relegated to the cupboard, while I use a Bosch Blue router instead.

  • This has only a 3 yr warranty the ALDI one has a 5 yr warranty. 2 yrs warranty worth it for $1?
    Your call.

    • +1

the problem is you won't be able to swap the Aldi one over if broken.
You can get a refund at the store or talk with the distributor which may repair it or more likely just say take to back to Aldi for a refund.

It'll only break when you want to use it, so I suppose it's a matter of, do you want to goto Bunning & swap it for a new one, or do you want to take it back to Aldi, get a refund, then head to Bunnings & buy a new one (pay more, but get a new warranty).

      • Get the Aldi one, use it for what its worth until it breaks (hopefully finishing your job before) and then return it to Aldi for full refund = free job done!

  • There's carpentry, and then there's Ozito carpentry…
    Just don't.

  • I actually need one for an upcoming flooring job (DIY) but am torn between this one and Aldi's. Other than the warranty, are there really any significant differences between the two models??? Does anyone know what countries they are made in?

    • Countries? In 2016 it's a sure bet where these things are made. The 2 look identical in every way but color. If you want to keep it get the bunnings one, if you want to use and return get the aldi one.

  • Ozito 1200W 210mm Table SawTSB-1208

Bunning have not got Generous giving a $72 reduction in price, ALDI have the same table saw for sale on Saturday 17th. I have been looking for a new table saw for some time and decided on this one as it will be housed in a cabinet I will build giving it a lot more table area with a sled and jigs ,
The blade height and angle adjustment are a lot better than on a lot of table saws in the under $300 bracket including the previous one I purchased .
At $99 you can’t loose and would like to thank ALDI making such a saw available for under $100
