      • I have the exact same code as you. Mine comes up at validated on 03-01-2015.

Furthermore, there was no security seal and it appears the bottom tab that you lift up to open the flap has been opened many times, like when you keep pressing on cardboard it starts to thicken. My package has definitely been opened before.

This is NOT a factory fresh untouched product.

I've sent Zapals and email and waiting for an explanation.

      • Yep, no doubt about it, seems we copped fakes with that code.. it's foating around all over the net!!

        • whats the latest mate?

          @spy:

I sent them an email and a couple of photos of the code, and packaging.

They replied and admitted the error after contacting their supplier.

I opted for money back via paypal.

Having done that I would buy from these guys again, as they were good enough to admit this an offer money back or another (genuine??) unit sent out & responded to this professionally & timely.

Thanks for the info! Time for me to open another Zapals ticket.

Those links you found are good. I'm pretty sure they show my charger is fake =(

here is the story on how I was convinced my charger was real…

After my verification code failed I contacted Nitecore (NC) and they said:

Thank you for your interest in Nitecore's product, the product may be fake, I suggest you contact your seller for an explanation.

So I sent that to Zapals (ZP) and they said:

Thank you for your shopping with Zapals.
We contacted our manufacture and found that they made a mistake on this code, but we promise the product is genuine.
We hope you will enjoy a nice experience when you use it.
We appreciate your support, and sincerely apologize for the inconvenience.

        NC replied:

Thank you for your email, I am sorry to tell you that I did not receive any email from your seller inquiring the authentic of your charger. and I am afraid the charger is fake.

        ZP replied:

We are sorry again about this troubles. Our manufacture said that they cannot change the verification code now and promised that you will never meet this problems next time.

        So I asked NC:

So, just to confirm, you believe this is a dodgy product? Not sold by Nitecore? You don't sell via wholesalers or resellers?

        Reply from NC:

Thank you for your email, I don't think they are telling you the truth.
You could check the authentic by magnet test, if the positive pole of the slot attract the magnet, the product should be fake.
You are able to disassemble the charger, the capacity in PCB should be printed "Nitecore" on it.

So I opened the charger and sent them photos of the inside plus the box & verification sticker, so I sent this to NC:

I disassembled the charger and tested the contacts with a magnet: the positive & slider are not magnetic, only the negative terminal is magnetic.
I have attached photos of the inside and you can see all the capacitors have NITECORE written on them.

        Their reply was quite short:

Thank you for your email, I think the charger should be authentic.

        As you say,

It is hard to see how Nitecore would duplicate codes accidentally.

        Thanks.
