Neato Botvac D80
High Performance Robot Vacuum—Ideal for Homes with Pets
Uses patented LaserSmart technology with laser floor mapping and real-time object detection to map the room, plan and methodically clean—instead of just bumping around.

Includes both the spiral blade brush (works great on all floors) and the combo brush (picks up all types of hair and is quieter too).

Advanced SpinFlow Power Clean system picks up more of the stuff that lands on the floor—like dirt, crumbs, dust bunnies, and pet hair.

D-shape design and CornerClever technology get to where dirt hides—in corners and along walls.

Moves from room to room, automatically returns to charge base, recharges, and resumes where it left off.

Extra-large, bagless dirt bin holds more than round robot vacuums and is easier to empty.

  • I have an earlier model and its excellent.

    • Yep, my Neato XV-12 refurb has been going strong for 2.5 years.

      • Only issue i had was the battery life got a bit short (having to charge halfway through a clean) but a new battery set and it was fine again.
Ive had mine for several years too.

        • Mine cleans while I'm at work, so I have no idea if it stops for a charge part way through.

  • So, is this "the one" to get?
Promised my partner we'd get one :(

Sounds like me 9 months ago.

I was also thinking hard about this model ~ 4 months ago.
So far - the best decision I've made!

    • This or LG.

I've had the XV21, had the Signature Series, and now have a D80…. I've also had iRobot ones in the past

I find Neato to be a good balance of price & performance….there are both cheaper & more expensive robot vacuums from other providers (ranging from Aldi, to Samsung/Dyson)…. other ones have more functionality (e.g. web scheduling or self emptying etc), others are cheaper (but usually don't navigate as well)

Neato seems to have nice re-assuring navigation, i.e. you can see it work it's way quite linearly around the room… for me at least it rarely seems to get stuck…. and when it's battery starts to drop off (as others noted), it's fairly easy to replace & they seem to last quite well… also easy to get new filters, brushes etc from ebay (or elsewhere)

Yes I am a big fan of Neato (but am not affiliated in any way)

    • I've still got the XV-21 from a previous deal posted here. Do you notice a significance between the older and newer models? Would it be worth upgrading in your opinion?

Any clue if there will be issues with the power adaptor? EG 110v or is it multi?

Also, I assume there won't be any warranty support in Australia?

    Thanks

  • Neato are excellent. Have a botvat connected and it has been outstanding. Handles 95% of the vacuuming now. And does a great job with pet hair.

I'd be curious about the new Xiaomi Robot Vac… http://www.gearbest.com/robot-vacuum/pp_440546.html

$369USD… so a bit cheaper and supposedly more advanced and powerful

  • Anyone knows a good place to buy batteries for Neato? Have XV-11 since 2011. Changed batteries 3 times since than. Not cheap :(

  • I have ordered Xiaomi mi robot vacuum. Am waiting for it to arrive.

    • Mine took two weeks. It's a beaut

  • Amazon says No international Shipping

    • Hmm.. After adding Neato to the cart - I can see an option to ship it to Australia (that's how I bought it 4 months ago):

  • Agree with Marketers Dream. Happy with Xiaomi mi vacuum . Cost AU $500.11 delivered and that was without applying "xiaomivac" promo code on Gear Best. Haven't used app yet. Posted detailed description of my experience on Whirlpool forum, Home, cleaning. Only attachment provided is small comb with cutting edge.
