  • Make sure you use a disposable email. They send a LOT of junk mail and took me 3 go's to unsubscribe.

  • What's the terms for the giftcard offer? How long must one keep the policy active to receive the giftcard?

    • +1

you can cancel the policy at any time, but I've not come across any policies that issue refunds…

  • +1

tread carefully. pun intended. I wouldn't touch them. Learned my lesson.

    • How bad are they? All insurance companies have bad reviews cause its just their business model, so it is really hard to tell.

After someone hit my car, I felt like they treated me as a criminal. Instead of chasing the person who had hit my car I felt like they were trying to invalidate my policy. There wasn't even much damage at all (slight scratches) to my car but they wanted a lot of stuff from me to get from my old insurer before they would process my claim. Something like 3 weeks had passed and I asked if they had contacted the person who had hit me because when I spoke to him on the phone he didn't dispute being at fault. They said no, they hadnt contacted him… -_- After that I cancelled my insurance, got a prorata refund and went back to my old insurer. A bit more expensive but they don't waste my time. That was just a small accident imagine if I got into a big one and I really depended on them. meh. I got the scratches fixed at a mom and pop smash repairs for a couple of hundred.

        • Thanks for the detailed reply mate. Appreciate it

  • Does this offer apply to TPP?
    Ashame the site reads

We'd like to thank you for requesting a quote with Woolworths Insurance. Please call us on 1300 482 451 as we require a bit more information

  • and can not be used in conjunction with any other offer.

That would include the 'Woolworths Price Beat offer'

  • Thanks OP.

  • This used to be $100 with WOOL20 code

Woolies insurance is great cos there's no penalty for paying by the month.

  • Seems like this $75 woolies gift card is only available for the Drive Less Pay Less insurance option.

    • No it should work for both

        • @TheStahh:

          that's racist D:

i'll try again since my screenie was from 2 weeks ago

edit: and your premium is less than mine with lower excess and higher value. racist x2 D:

  • What if I have a policy with them coming up for renewal , can I cancel and then sign up with this code ?

    • yes, you can…

  • Just did a home and car policy three days ago.

    Bastards!

    • I believe there's a 7days cooling period

      • I was with them a year, the cooling-off period is 14 days ;)

        • Pretty sure legally it's 21 days?

    • same for my car ..

  • Does anyone know if the price beat policy covers policy quotes you get or only a policy you already have and need to renew ?

    Thanks

  • Is it possible to pay via gift card ie 5% off? Also with home and contents, they won't quote if you haven't had insurance in the last 30 days when you tick 'other' as the option for not having that insurance.

    • Just say you had insurance

  • +1

It's only providing me quotes for comprehensive, not third party. That sucks.

  • Looking for comprehensive car insurance and woolworths seems to be the cheapest out there, thanks OP.

  • I just renewed my home insurance a week ago. So i made a new quote for the $75 gift card, and the premium is $3.60/month more expensive. Remove the promo code, and I get back to my original quoted premium.

    Sneaky!

    • +1

Completely Agree. Adding the code makes it $68 extra to the Quote , What a Rip-off !!

  • I had same experience. With the $75 GC & 20% off code it was significantly more expensive than their default 30% off combined discount!

    • They dont provide 30% off anymore ? Only seems to gice you 10%

  • If you get a renewal notice from Woolworths Insurance it's really worth getting a new quote online from them to compare. My renewal notice came this week for Home Insurance costing $459. I went online and got a quote using the same variables and the quote came back at $368!! I then used the HOMEOBS code and paid $414 including the $75 gift card (=$339) so $120 cheaper than the original quote. I remember the same thing happened last year. So much for loyalty to their customers!

  • Quote price for home insurance is about $75 more expensive when using one big switch code vs going direct (no gift card).
