      I tried stacking another discount voucher, but it just applies the one with the greater discount.

      Not sure about a voucher for free shipping. Shipping is free for orders over $100 (which was my case, got a pair of 990V4 shoes).

      I also used Cash Rewards on this purchase. This equals to about 6.40% cashback.

      The 1260 is it, targeting the same stability control side of things (albeit in different ways). I'm going to grab a pair to try out, at this price (plus I get 8% cashback through work!) it's a lot cheaper than another pair of gel kayano's.

      Plus it only came out in July, so it's not really at the "end of season" (despite that being the coupon), can't see it being replaced before summer.

          edit: Realised all the Running Warehouse shoes for the 1260v5 are wide or extra wide, I wear normal, so I'll keep the existing order. Sounds like they made some solid improvements to the shoe anyway.

      same here. needed some walking shoes for when I go overseas in a couple of weeks, but missed out on the hype sale the other day. Wore volleys last time I went overseas. never again. they are so bad for walking, but that should have been obvious from the outset. hindsight 20/20 or something

    I'm up for a pair of decent running shoes. I know new balance are highly recommended but how can I ensure I get a pair that really suit my feet? Are the 'foot mapping' services at places like Athlete's Foot worth anything? I get sore feet when I run.

          There is a proper running store in Perth that offers this service (had it done a few years ago). I think it was between Perth and Subiaco. Other option is the athletes foot (different system though). Had his done a few weeks ago as I was having problems with sore feet from my Kayano's. Since switched to Saucony's and it's made a huge difference.

      depends what youre doing
      squats - dont even bother with nb..a pair of chucks will do the trick
      deadlifts - again, chucks are perfect
      general weights - yeh, these will suffice as you wont need legs much

        I have do-wins which have wooden wedge shape platform as the base. the're great for squats. rock solid. Others use nike romaleos or adidas adi powers, but they're more than 3x what I paid for my do-wins (more now that our exchange rate sucks so much).

          I have a pair of Adipowers and they're awesome. Not cheap, but they have lasted me quite a long time without showing any wear and tear.

      There's really no substitute for trying them on for yourself.

      Personally, I've been using the New Balance 857 for leg days. They have no shock absorption whatsoever(great for stability during squats/deadlifts/etc but not great for all day comfort). You definitely don't want to run in them. I was also fitted with custom orthotics to fit in these shoes (I have very flat feet).

      For other training days, I just cycle through other cross trainers (non New Balance).

        I bought a couple of size D's cheap online overseas (it doesn't seem the 'D's make it to oz); I am wearing one pair right now.

      No, they're all bad.
      I kid.
      That's hard to recommend though; the biggest thing to focus on is Heel Drop.

      a 12mm heel drop shoe feels TOTALLY 'flat' compared to a 4mm heel drop.
      Try and find what you used to own, and find their 'stats'. Nothing will help with the fit and feel without trying on, but for pure walking comfort, drop is key; at least IMO.
