    Thanks Savas.

Woolies must have the shittest website I've ever used, Coles' site is so much better.

Wait till you go into one of their stores. They got some real gems working there.

That ho Mai and her party packs bring all the boys to the yard, I bet.

    • +2

And they're like, it's better than yours.

        /Hoh mei/ means tastes good.

        • And Ho Mai means good buy/sell depending on the sound. Are we just going to do random Cantonese translations now?

        • @Munki:

          Context is food not trading.

        • @tightwad: They're selling a product.

        • @Munki:

Why woul you call your products 'trading'

          Ask them. I'm right

        • @tightwad: I'm not arguing that "ho mei" means good taste. Their branding is "ho mai". That's a different sound and gives a totally different meaning. Notice the a not e in the second word. Without seeing the actual Chinese characters for it, and going off simply by the romanised pronunciation, it's not what you're saying it is.

        • @Munki: I looked at an image of the package and the characters indeed mean good taste. It's a mystery why they spell it with an a when e would sound closer for both Mandarin and Cantonese. Probably the same "logic" that uses dim sim when it's closer to dim sum in Cantonese and den sin in Mandarin.

Anyway it's factory food no matter what they brand it.

        • @greenpossum: Those gwai lo messing with our culture, yo.

Thanks Savas, glad you added the categories this time

    Thanks Savas, awesome formatting.

Just a heads up guys (for those that care), Uncle Tobys is owned by Nestle who've done some extremely unethical things. Means I won't be buying anymore things from Uncle Tobys from now on

    • +5

Why? Did they remove a headphone jack? :)

      • +8

Oh gawd nothing that awful, just exploiting mothers in 3rd world countries trying to convince them that formula is better then boob juice for their bubs. Buying palm oil from plantation that were planted in illegally cleared rainforests, using horse meat in frozen meals, child labour,

but that headphone jack, they should get The Hague onto that.

          Standard corporate practice.

Thanks Savas :-). Can see the effort you have put into the list.
