  • Doesnt include the edge?

  • Seeming I have had two S7 Edge's die in the past 6 weeks, I would be wary of grey imports. Been waiting 2 weeks for Samsung to replace my latest one, and that is with full Aussie warranty.

      What do you mean 'die'?
My S7 edge is still as good as ever.

      • First one after five months had a ROM corruption, I just woke up one morning to red and green ROM error message, totally dead, data unrecoverable.

Got a replacement one immediately and used that for three weeks until I tried recharging it with a portable battery and using it as a wifi hotspot at the same time over lunch. The always on display corrupted and looked like fireflies all over the screen, which would appear over 60 seconds after switching the device off, when I went to experience store and re-enabled always on, the screen died completely and looked like green tinged mess, so something inside melted. Like this, also mine was gold replacement one like in the comments someone mentions gold: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D6XVv6aRCCU

    • But with Kogan you freepost it back to an Australian address. It took me 2-3 weeks each time (3 times with LG G4!)

Mines been fine, operator error no doubt

  • Is this the exynos or snap dragon version?

    • Samsung Galaxy S7 / S7 Edge Chipset Qualcomm MSM8996 Snapdragon 820 | Exynos 8890 Octa is what the description says so i think its the Exynos

      • +1

Chipset Qualcomm MSM8996 Snapdragon 820 | Exynos 8890 Octa is what the description
Exactly so it is unclear from the description whether it is the Exynos or Qualcomm Soc as it lists both variants.

But going by this past deal https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/246263 it seems the Model number is most likely the SM-935F so yeah it should be the Exynos version.

        • I believe that the S7 is the snapdragon and Edge is the Exynos

        • @Pyrock:

I emailed DS about it, they said since the stock comes from wherever they can find it, they can't guarantee which model it is. So lucky dip it is.

        • @Gurbachen: very unlikely to get a snapdragon, the only gsm model is mainland China version.

Most likely will be a dual sim from LATAM region

    • Lucky dip

    • My S7 Edge (not dual sim) from Kogan is an exynos. SM-G935F

  • Bought as $777 from ebay DS during previous promotion time. It's a Emirates model. So some of australian local apps, e.g. Samsung Pay, not allowed to install.

It's a headache thing of such kinds of grey imported stuff.

The really simple solution is just to flash Australian firmware on it. Once you've downloaded the right one, it takes 10 minutes and a few clicks.

      It's really easy :)

        thanks for suggestion!

Just a bit of worry about anything malware hidden in the firmware. Samsung does not supply official download-able firmwares, so we have to choose to download from 3rd party.

    • Unfortunately this only works for American Express and Citibank atm so no use for me

      • I use google pay. ANZ credit card.
I do like the Samsung pay launch from lock screen and screen off though

        • I have Android Pay on my UAE S7 Edge and it accepts my ANZ Visa, ANZ Amex and ING Direct cards.

  • Only if close to $600 I would grab one for edge model hmmm

  • Beware, Read this first before you buy S7 edge
