Panasonic ES-LT2N 3 Blade Shaver $149.95 (50% of RRP) @ Shaver Shop

90

I kept an eye on this for a while, they normally sold for $199-249. So called RRP 299 but I think they never sold at that price.
Saw this today in store selling $149. It's cheapest I can see so far, even cheaper than importing from Amazon or Rakuten.

Made in Japan

  • What's a good electric shaver for someone with think/strong facial hair and wants a quick clean shave?

I have found the Panasonic foil shavers to be much better than the Phillishave. My beard hair is very thick and I can go nearly 10 days without using a razor with pana. Only three maybe with philips.

  • The Braun 3040 is $50 cheaper and has better reviews on Amazon. Why would you get this one?

    • Because there's an inverse relationship between consumer testing reports evaluations and Amazon's reviewers evaluations.

(OK the relationship is not that strong - but still more than can be explained if Amazon reviewers flipped a coin to decide whether a product is good or bad :D)

Panasonic make excellent shavers. The only problem is buying them from Shaver Shop. This company has a disgraceful after sales service record. No returns, no refunds, they don't even want to know about warranty issues, they tell you to do it yourself.

    • I had no issue swapping a faulty oral b electric toothbrush after after 1 1/2 years at Shaver Shop. Just showed them a video of the fault when it occurred, on my phone and within 5 minutes had a brand new handle.

  • The 4-blade one (http://www.shavershop.com.au/online-store/electric-shavers/e…) is also discounted to $174.95. It also seems to be a bit faster (14,000 vs 13,000 RPM) and ShaverShop supposedly offers a 60-day trial period with that one.

    • Correct me if I'm wrong but the trial period is a manufacturer-offered one.

This is bad for several reasons, not the least is that Shaver Shop has a bad habit of advertising it as being available when the manufacturer says that it has finished.

      • You are right. The promotion is still going on though…

    • I have the 4 blade one, and TBH think I'd have been as well off with a 3 blade.
What surprised me is that they've actually both got the same inside: actually 2 'blades' (the sharp bits that move from side to side); the extra'blade' is only in the foil.
Shaver does a good enough job.
