Give it a week of run time they will have 15min+/- drift

Actually no, while the trigger times may vary a bit, a minute or three, due to mechanical tolerances, there is no long term drift. The motors in these are synchronous, same as in the old fashioned alarm clocks. I have owned several mechanical timers, and still have one running for the living room lights, I leave it on all year, and only adjust the trigger times for the seasons and DST change. Sounds like the one you have is faulty.
Before anybody notices that I don't really have to adjust at DST changes, I'm just obsessive, I like the dial to show the current time.
Started using mine yesterday. Ticking sound is minimal, can't hear much actually.

The fact that YOU have sleep problems doesn't make it a bad product.
Most people are perfectly capable of sleep when there are noises, and don't require construction of an anechoic chamber to use as a bedroom.
Also, have you considered that these are not normally used in bedrooms anyway?

Does anyone make good mechanical timers? I have one of these I think (going by how they look) and it makes an annoying ticking noise. I also use bunnings ones but had some malfunction. I would gladly pay triple for one that won't screw up and is silent. Haven't had good experience with digital ones so I want a mechanical one.
Try the hpm ones. Seems to last
i use this on my beer fridge so that it turns on only when my solar panels are generating power, also for my washing machine which does not have an internal timer :-)
Hi guys I bought one from buntings @ $5.59! However i can't get it working? The switch works when I want to turn something off, but setting the timer doesn't do anything?! It doesn't make any kind of ticking noise like others have said. I've fiddled around for ages with this (profanity) & nothing seems to make it work?
Please help! I apologise for my stupidness 😂Maybe take it to Bunnings and ask them to give you a tute? They're supposed to be quite helpful.
