Could someone shed some light on what kinda welding you could do with this machine?
I know some migs require gas and arc welding is pretty poorly rated for general sort of use.

    I had the same thought. Arc is widely used in industry.
    For the home handyman it is a bit harder to get used to compared to MIG welding.
    I have an ARC welder at home and performs really well, you wouldn't have any issue welding 5mm steel which is quite thick.

    arc welding is much harder to do properly. Mig is so easy its great for beginners and more forgiving.

  Arc. Gas less Mig would at least have an auto spooler. The brush and hammerincluded so you can bang the crap out if the slag.
