Bought it years ago and it's still one of the best media player on iOS.
    Grab it while you can!

After installing, Popup says "Buy Pro $14.99"

    It is an "upgrate"

    • Thats expensive!

  • +3

Pretty certain he's just made it Free as of the latest update, but you can buy the Pro features optionally (which is pretty much just Dolby Digital support, and 1-2 other minor things).

    • +2

it would appear cloud services are also unavailable unless you shell out $14.99 which my be "major" rather than "minor" to some.

Stress that I'm pretty much an app novice but on the popup that advises "buy pro" it says press restore if you've already purchased Pro, I took a flyer and pressed and message seemed to indicate my prior purchase was recognised…despite not having purchased in the past……naw, keep getting the "buy Pro" popup so this thingie seems is not Pro as far as I can see despite saying it is on the install screen. Would be happy to be proved wrong or shown how to actually get Pro from this purported offer of same.

Since this is $4.99 in the description above & the update is for $14.99 it would appear that the program is ingenuously named and you need to buy a Pro of a pro!

  • +3

    This not pro
    Its just free version
Have to buy pro in app purchase still

    • -3

      Please use the restore button.

  • +1

It really has 'Pro' in name but not as expected. Asks for $14.99 to upgrade. Therefore a neg from me.

    • -2

Mate, click restore, ull get the pro for nothing :)

      • +2

Restore button does nothing for me either. They've made the pro version free but made the perks in the pro version cost $14.99

      • It clearly says the Restore button is only for people who previously purchased the upgrade. You don't get the Pro features for free, obviously. This deal is inaccurate to say the least.

  • +2

I pressed restore a number of times but received an error message "App Store communication fail. Please try again later or contact support". Does anyone have similar problem? Are you able to resolve this?

    • +1

      Yes same,not resolved

  • +1

FWIW have registered a complaint via itunes chat re mislabelling this on the offer page as "Pro" when it is no such thing (IMHO).

  • +1

Same experience as other users, restore button throws "Apple Store communication error".

"Upgrate" not possible either, asks for $15 bucks.

Waste of time, don't bother with this app.

  • Don't waste ur time on this. Go get Moliplayer

  • weird…. mine working fine…

    • +1

      For all features hippies?

Mine played vids from the PC well but when I asked for a "feature" eg play from Youtube or access cloud it then asked for cash.

Real pity about seeming misrepresentation as it is superb in the basics.

      • Yes i can do restore purchased , and unlocked all features..

Tried it on 'the chiefs' ipad and it worked. Dunno what she will use it for though hehe.

The pinch-zoom feature in this app is really helpful for me — thanks OP!

As the developers have conceded in the app's description, as from this new version (ver.6.0.0) the app has moved from an up-front app purchase to a in-app-purchase. Thus it is not free, It's revenue model has just changed. Previous purchases' of the app can restore full functionality from within the app.

In fact, it would have been cheaper buy the app as an up front purchase looking from the historical prices from AppShopper. $15 for a media player is a bit rich!

  • Adding for records purposes so the following is visible should anyone look.

As a result of my complaint to Apple (as mentioned above) a member of the It's Playing team contacted me. In a very positive email exchange the conclusion was that the It's Playing team didn't set up the IOS sale page - the term "limited offer" in reference to the reduction shouldn't be there, the free status is ongoing for this version, the word "Pro" was also not intended to be there and it's removal has been requested. (The page now has had both terms removed).

As there were a couple of comments regarding the amount required to update the program…..the It's Playing rep advised that this ($14.95) was considered the amount that was optimal in the need to continue funding the project.
