While most chargers claim to be 40W - this Tronsmart charger is 54W and can provide greater amps across all USB ports simultaneously to provide faster charging. One port features Quick Charge 2.0 while the others have VoltIQ. Unlike other brands this charger has been Qualcomm and UL certified.

What is Quick Charge 2.0 and VoltIQ?

Tests have shown that a 3500mAh battery can be charged from 0% to 60% in only 30 minutes for any compatible device using Qualcomm's Quick Charge 2.0 technology.

The charger also utilises a technology called VoltIQ that is able to detect the charging protocol used in the device to provide the fastest possible charge (up to 2.4a) without the risk overheating, overcharging and short circuiting etc. This is useful for any device that does not support Quick Charge 2.0. More info on VoltIQ can be found here

List of tested QC 2.0 compatible phones can be found here

  • Other devices not listed (iPhone, iPad, Nexus etc.) will benefit from the VoltIQ technology.

Good chargers. Good price. Excellent for travelling light.

  • +1

Clear, I can't use the coupon code for a US plug. Any chance you can have them fix it?

  • How do these compare to the Blitz ones?

    • +1

BlitzWolf have a standard 40W charger and a QC3 version. The downside is that they're both 40W and provide less amps across all ports simultaneously compared to the Tronsmart models that are 54W.

The other issue is that BlitzWolf claim to be Qualcomm Certified/Approved, but their chargers don't appear anywhere in Qualcomm's list.

      • +1

I think their claims stem from their use of qualcomm certified chips

        • +1

That would be correct. Certified chips but the chargers themselves may or may not meet Qualcomm and UL's standards.

    • +1

Quick Charge aside: The Tronsmart is a much better charger for travel as it is lighter. The Blitzwolf is heavier and better as a desktop charger.

    • I have both - i personally think that the tronsmart one charges better.

  • Man this charger keep getting cheaper and cheaper. I paid USD 23.23 from here last November (our dollar was worse then I guess).

Can recommend as it's been pretty good with no problems so far.

  • +4

I'm not sure what the fascination with multiple MicroUSB cables is, can buy them most anywhere.
However a collection of plugs for the figure8 cable US+UK+AU+EU, now that'd be useful.

    • +1

Collection of figure 8 cables is a really good idea. I'll see what Tronsmart think ;)

    • +2

And fig 8 cables that fit snug would be nice. The AU one supplied me from last deal is quite lose and prone to come out very easily :(

    • The cables are very easy to find on eBay, just search for IEC-C7. All cost around $2-5.

Still, wouldn't mind seeing a deal on the charger+cord set. Would be pretty neat.

      • I have a few of the common world ones which means I can plug in like a local without adapters.

Common ones I use are UK, USA, EUR and AUS. Covers me for majority of my travels. And if I ever get stuck, they aren't too hard to find.

        • +1

Just be very careful with voltages, just because it fits doesn't mean it should. Some Chinese products come with this plug despite being a fixed voltage (ie 240) and not supporting the other (120).

        • @dyl: I agree. However with most consumer electronics in the last few years there has been an increasing trend of 100-240V adapters. But one should always do their homework before plugging in anything whilst overseas.

      • +1

Searching for "figure 8 cable" provided some cheaper results, $1.60-2.60 ea, so I ordered the charger from here and 4 different plugs via ebay.

    • A pack of international figure 8 cables would be really handy.

Why would you want to carry multiple cables when travelling?

Just buy a travel adaptor - then you can use it for ALL the devices that you take with you. What I do is take a travel adaptor and a 4-way powerboard, then plug my AU plugs into that. Heaps easier.

        • I wouldn't. I would take the cables appropriate to the countries I'm going to. Usually I am going to one country at a time and hence one cable would be suitable. Much cleaner and less space required than an adaptor.

        • +1

When traveling with only carry-on baggage weight & space are a premium, a single device with a single plug is also useful when you're not staying in the one place for more than a day or two at one time, much easier to setup and packup.

        • +1

@dwhes: And even if you are travelling to multiple countries you may find the general region to be pretty similar. So you can't be too far off.

Then again it also isn't too bad an idea to pack a lightweight powerboard and travel adapter. More important for those who carry devices that cannot be charged by USB.

When travelling, I tend to pack:
          a) above charger + IEC cord for destination country
          b) powerboard + travel adapter for destination country

  • +1

Was going to say the same as above….price keeps dropping
Almost thinking to buy another one…..

  • Does it compatible with iSO devices?

    • +1

iPhone/iPad does not support Qualcomm's Quick Charge technology. Instead they'll charge up to 2.4a in each port. An iPad charger is typically 2.1a.

      • +1

        Thanks for the info :)

  • +2

Possible to get a deal on QC 3.0 chargers like this: http://www.geekbuying.com/item/Tronsmart-Quick-Charge-3-0-US…?
Also, I can't see in the pictures, but does that one use one of those figure 8 power cables so I can swap it out for an AU one?

    Thanks

    • +4

I'll ask GB for a deal on it. It takes the same figure 8 cable too.

      • Noice, thanks :)

      • +2

        I'm keen too!

      • Interested in the QC3 version too any deals on this?

      • -1

        me3
        :)

      • Any news yet? Thanks

      • +1 for QC 3.0 chargers with Type-C cable deals

  • +1

i got a bundle, great value

  • +1

Been wanting to get a multi charger. Thanks!

  • +2

Solid 28c saving if you get the bundle

    • Bundle is more due to one coupon per a cart, saves you having to do two orders.

    • +1

buy 10 bundles though and then you've saved $2.80, you can take that to Daiso and knock yourself out

  • +1

The cables are pretty average, though charger is amazing. Have two already and ordered a third, came in handy with recent power outages in SA. (Had both set up on the generator to charge 10 phones/etc at once)

  • Does anybody know what's the usual delivery time please?

    • +1

Free shipping can take up to 30 business days with 3-4 weeks being the average after processing.

    • +2

Bit of a lucky dip with shipping times I find. Some I've received in around 2 weeks, others 3-4.

Either way, order now and you should usually have it with in a month if all goes to plan.

  • Thanks guys

  • any special deal on the 5 pack Gold Plated bundle with charger?

  • -1

    Who uses 6ft cables?

    • +3

Makes it easier to use your phone in bed when it is on the charger

      • I tended to use long cables plugged in to the phone from the wall charger before but now i just use 1m cables plugged in to a powerbank instead. This arrangement allows me to use the phone in any room even while it is charging.

  • Have both the BlitzWolf and Tronsmart. Can't fault either though I have only used the BlitzWolf recently. Question is whether I Should get another one?

  • +6

    The usb cables are garbage.

    • +7

Yes, they are no good. 4 out of 6 from the last purchase are in the bin. The other 2 I haven't bothered to use.

      • +3

I agree, the retention pins on most of mine gave up within a few weeks :/

  • Wrong post

  • +3

My quest for good quality micro-USB cables is never ending…these are pretty crappy because the connectors tend to break when you look at them the wrong way…and Blitzwolf have the weird "reversible" thing with their micro-USB cables and my phones just don't like them, and I'm not going to risk my phones over a non-compliant connector…

Nobody seems to sell anker at decent prices for australia, and belkin is $18 each for the braided ones(!)

  • +3

Anyone have feedback on the humming of this charger when your devices are fully charged? (Ie in the middle of the night when you're trying to sleep?)

    • +1

I want to know too! My Blitzwolf makes noise when charging, though I'm sure I've read about people with quiet ones.

Very interested if anyone has any sort of noise issue with these Tronsmart ones.

    • +3

Have had this right next to me every night without issue.

    • +3

no coil whine - i sleep next to mine

    • +2

My Tronsmart is quiet all the time, whether under load or not.

  • Sorry got the answer

  • Does anybody know what AWG these cables are?

  • Any deals on some decent lightning cables?

  • Trying to buy cables, when putting a code it said "you must register"
So I did, when trying again it says "Sorry, this coupon code is applicable for some specific items."

    Come on!

    • It will only work on the cables linked in this post.

      • Yep I was always clicking on the link in the OP
Adding to cart and then applying the code in the cart page….

        • Weird. It's working fine for me on the China Black cables linked in the post.

  • Here's a top review. Makes a bit of noise unde full load. Although it's half the weight of the Blitzwolf. http://lygte-info.dk/review/USBpower%20Tronsmart%204%20USB%2…

  • I'm still waiting on delivery of my order for one of these from last time it was on special.

  • FYI, the pictures aren't totally accurate. I was hoping for the all-matte design as is shown, but (on a previous iteration of this deal) I got one where the outside looks more like this (but QC 2.0 obviously). I guess it's a minor thing but yeah kind of disappointing. It charges fine tho.

  • what is the difference between China Black and Spain Black on the USB cables?

    • +1

Warehouse location. Spain is for European customers.

  • hey mate, are you able to open up the EU, UK and US plug versions for the coupon code?

  • In future, it would be great to know if there will be any delays in shipping prior to ordering.
I ordered on the 1st when I saw this deal, paying for TNT shipping. Apparently orders aren't being shipped from Oct 1-5 due to Chinese National Day. As a result, I won't be able to receive my order in time because it still hasn't been processed.

    • I didn't know this. I also paid the extra for express. Had I known this I wouldn't have bothered paying the extra.

I paid because I wanted it by this week.
      This sucks.

  • Thanks. Bought one. Have 2 Blitzwolf and 1 Tronsmart at home. Bought this one for work and holidays.

  • Its been 2weeks and i still haven't received mine. Anyone else get theres?

    • It's coming from China so it's very rare for someone to get it in 2 weeks. Average is 3 or 4 weeks.

      • Mine shipped on the 10th and is still yet to arrive FYI.

        • Can take up to 30 business days. Recent strikes at customs have caused delays.

        • @Clear: Oh, I had presumed it was 30 days inclusive of handling time which was 8 days prior to postage on the 10th.

      • Well its been a 4weeks and I'm getting the usual/now famous geekbuying delayed email for ..(insert copy paste reply)… reason.

  • Mine was sent on the 14/9. It's 16/10 today and not arrived yet.

I'm off on a cruise on Friday so here's hoping it arrives before then.

    • Arrived today. Using Ampere to test charging amps on my old Nexus 4, I get ~750mA through the Qualcomm 2.0 port, but only ~200mA through the VoltIQ ports. Is this normal?

  • My order is still stuck on payment confirmed. Ordered on the 10th and paid extra for TNT shipping.

Don't think I'll be ordering from geekbuying again if it takes this long to process and dispatch orders.

    • PM me your order number and I'll see what's going on.

  • My order is still stuck on payment confirmed. I ordered on the 3rd and paid extra for TNT shipping. (14 days ago!)

I would also avoid ordering from geekbuying again if it takes this long to process and dispatch orders, especially if its an express service you paid for.

    My order number: 3788700

    • I passed it onto customer service.

      • When will it be shipped?

  • Also on payment confirmed still, paid on 8/10.

    Order number: 3793339

    • Thanks. I'm finding out why there is a delay.

  • Ordered on 3/10 and I am still stuck at payment confirmed! Janice from the tracking support is hopeless, couldn't get my answer for almost two weeks. I need to cancel this if I am not getting a shipment by tomorrow COB! Avoid next time!

  • Thanks. Got another one even though I already have the same one and the Blitzwolf.

That QC port comes in handy with bulky powerbanks that support QC.

  • Purchased and paid 2 weeks ago.
    This email arrived today

    ……….
It's not going to arrive in time for my holiday and very much uninspires me to be interested in any future Geekbuying bargains deals etc. There is cheap and there is shit/non existent service/delivery/etc.

    • Got the same email for my order from a week ago. This is disappointingly sluggish. I'd demand a refund if only I didn't want this charger.

  • Ordered on 2nd and got my shipping notification only yesterday. Here I was thinking a month would be enough time for it to arrive…
