1st time poster, long-time member.

Original promotion page: http://www.bitdefender.com.au/media/html/start2016promo/?pro…

I got their email and they are currently offering $29 for 3PC - 1 Year Only.
If you cannot get the $29.95 final price, you can then apply the coupon code I've sniffed from my URL link: Exp-29-95AUD-BD2016 ($29.95)
Make sure you DISABLE "Disable automatic renewal" or you'll be charged over-priced standard rate for the 2nd year!

September 30, 2016, 8:34 am - Constantin Dusca : Hello. How may I help you?
September 30, 2016, 8:34 am - Me : Hi I've received a product promotion for $29 a year for 3 devices. Will the renewal price be the same for next year ($29 every year)?
September 30, 2016, 8:35 am - Constantin Dusca : The Automatic Renewal will bill you for the full price of the product regardless of the purchase price Me.
September 30, 2016, 8:35 am - Me : It's a pity the renewal price wouldn't be the same as the current offer :-(
September 30, 2016, 8:37 am - Constantin Dusca : That's just how the automatic renewal process works Me, you can opt out of it and purchase it manually each year for the current running offer.

UPDATE:
Exp-29-95AUD-BD2016 is the new code I have sniffed from URL so you get a little bit further discount from my last coupon code. Thanks @syba.

  • Forgive me for my ignorance but, where's the bargain here?

    • -2

The bargain is, you will get a discount priced BD product from official store and it is believed to be the latest offer from BD.

It's no better deal than FREE product but maybe someone need it. I am still using their free 6 months license to be honest.

You can try other sources but there is no guarantee about the legitimate of the licensing code. I had a very bad experience with resellers (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/256319).

Buzz me if I am wrong, also let me know if anyone can get a better discount voucher so I can update the deal on this page :-)

      • The OzBargain comunity thanks you for your contribution but please refer here where there are virtually an unlimited amount of "trials" before submiting any further Bitdefender "deals"

        • I cannot imagine if everyone thinks thousand times before post a deal.

Thank you for being such a supportive member (with ZERO real deal posted). Is that your definition of 'contribution' - thank you! Sorry I can't help myself to have a look into your profile.

This is a community and everyone makes different definition of 'deals', no matter it's paid or freebie. It would be appreciated you could contribute in a constructive way - like finding a yearly deal at a cheaper price so I can update the coupon code :-)

By the way, What's your definition of unlimited trials? I am quite open for those tricks.

        • @bjdchwr:

Sorry mate to have had a go at you. Almost every ~3 months there is an ozbargain deal relating to bit defender thanks again for your contribution.

$19.95 here (http://sharewareonsale.com/s/bitdefender-total-security-sale) and often much cheaper. Didn't really search, but usually you can find a 2yr 3 PC license for around $20-30 as well (sometimes a but cheaper).

I find bitdefender to be a bit annoying now. It used to be better than the current one.
    That's just me though.

    • Can you elaborate a little bit more please?

I am still finding a better balanced antivirus software - not too power hungry (some of the reviews reveal BD is sort of this) but effective enough.

      • I was a bitdefender fan until a virus used it as a backdoor, use the windows 10 one now and it is all good.

        • I had a situation a couple of days back where BD was turning off windows updates, the solution was to take BD out of 'automatic pilot' mode.

      • I used the free ver. and the way it operates is probably the same way as the paid ver.
It scans in the background and I believe it's constantly running the scan and I don't like it.
And yes, that's the reason why it's power hungry.

I would suggest go with Kaspersky this time. Even Paid ver. of Malwarebytes combine with Sophos (Home ver. is free) + Adware cleaner and Paid ver. of Hitman Pro should be okay.

  • NOD 32 all the way - just waiting for their deal now.

    • Been running BitDefender total security for 5 years now.

Is one of the best in any and every test: http://chart.av-comparatives.org/chart1.php

    • You might be waiting a while, I ran ESS for years but they are just too expensive these days and I feel Kaspersky does just as good a job. Not sure I've ever seen an ESET sale? :)

  • Good luck if you have a Qnap with Surveillance Station. Set all camera IPs to trust and still have problems with video and getting old footage, Never had any problems before or had to configure anything with AVG or Eset.

  • Thanks OP, bought.
