@BradH13: Risk/reward - make more being dodgy than pay out in fines should one get caught.

  • +2
    • Why not get this instead? They haven't bumped up the price for this yet….

      http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Asus-DSL-AC68U-AC1900-1900Mbps-Du…

      • Nah, a $150 modem/router will meet my needs.

    • Report them to the ACCC, kogan got done for doing it in sales on ebay last year and I say it is about time some of these other jokers also got the ACCC's boot up their arse!

  • +7

One way to stop this shit is to not buy their crap.

  • Is Shopping Express' 1TB Samsung 850 SSD the cheapest at $359.2?

    • Shopping Express aren't included in the sale. Seems the cheapest for that item is $383.20 at Futu which I assume isn't that great.

      • Ah bums sorry. I clicked one of the links above in the participating stores and returned me the whole list. Just typed in the search bar which returned all lol. Doi.

        • Looking for a 1TB SSD as well.

The Sandisk Ultra II should be comparable and is cheaper at Amazon. $290 AUD delivered w/ 28degrees
          https://www.amazon.com/SanDisk-Ultra-2-5-Inch-Height-SDSSDHI…

        • @derfel.cadarn:

Ah thanks. I just need this to store my games. 250gb is too small and I keep moving stuff around.

The cheapest for this via ebay deal seems to be $340.

Standard Aus_luck price jack up when these sales are on

    • +1

      Exactly. iPhone 6S Plus 128GB. Apple $1,229.00, Ausluck $1,349.00 before 20% off. What a crock…ah…crook…ah…maybe both.
Admittedly ends up being cheaper but still dodgy - about 12% discount.

  • Long time lurker, first time poster.

Had my eye on an iPhone 6S 64GB for a while.

Through this sale, Certified Tech Direct is selling for $712 which is the cheapest I've seen aside from grabbing a second hand one from eBay or Gumtree which I'm not keen on.

Anyone have any experience buying from these guys and anyone know if they provide a tax invoice for TRS purposes? I'm going to the UK later this month so an invoice would be a bonus.

    • link please . I cannot see the tech direct in the participating stores list.

      Dont worry. Just found it

      • I bought the last Space Grey 64GB and have since received a tax invoice.

Means I paid $712 and will get another $80 back via TRS later this month.

        Extremely happy!

        • IT says " Although the phone is Brand New in appearance this is not a Brand New Sealed Box unit and may have been activated previously."

Does that mean it is used?

    Fed up with this sh*t…

I'm after a Sony A6000. A refurb with 20% off is approx. $500. The stock lens sells at JB Hi-Fi for $199. Is this an ok deal? Is there a cheaper comparable camera somebody could suggest?

It just kills me that they sold the twin lens kit for $600 previously, can't bring myself to buy the camera at these prices!

    • do you need it now? better wait for xmas sale

      • I need before November for Japan trip so I can't really wait. I'm happy to buy a cheaper camera if it is comparable.

    • All good. Managed to pick a refurb up with a stock lens for $559. Quite happy with that. There was only 2 on sale.

      • Is there another one?

        • I only saw that 2 were available and I picked up the last one. Yesterday morning it wasn't there but it was later in the afternoon so I would suggest keeping an eye out on the Sony eBay page for any new additions.

        • @fivespice: They only have the body right, where did you get the lens from?

        • @99altezza: They only had two with the stock lens kit from Sony. I saw them pop up around mid-day yesterday.

        • @fivespice: lucky you.

        • @99altezza: very lucky! just keep an eye out on the Sony eBay page in case any more pop up. It is refurbished also so it could be trash.

  • huaweri mate 8 with discount code?

    • Link me bro!

    • Nothing good around, not a good sale for phones. Limited sellers and those that are available are too overpriced.

  • If i buy from Shoppingsquare, can i claim GST as i am planning to go overseas at EOM?

    • No

      • Thanks

  • Store price is still on average $10 cheaper delivered than 80% off the Ebay listings :)

I witnessed wireless1 bump up the price of items twice within 2 hours toward the end of the 15% sale.

  • Any good deal for Micro SD?

  • +25

Classic ozbargain. 500+ positive votes for a generic 20% off code with not a single bargain listed then pages of whinging about jacked up prices and very few bargains to be found.

    • I dunno, 20% off the HDD prices at pc.byte.storage is pretty good, especially as their prices are lower than pc.byte.

Of course, you have to be in the market for drives to think that's OK, and I was :)

    • +2

That's why I negged. If there are some good deals amongst this mess they can be posted separately.

Many of the items in Storage and Networking have "Almost gone" status to make you think they're being wildly snapped up? I checked some and none had been sold today.

    Clearly a marketing tactic.

any web link to search all participated stores for a specific item?

I follow these sales on eBay through ozbargain all the time, and I have to say, this is one of the worst sales I've ever seen. Prices jacked up left right and centre..

$961 for LG V10? $650 for LG G4? $369 for Sony CX405 when they can be had from JB Hi fi for $299?

    Garbage.

What kind of cheek does "Ausluck" have advertising the RRP more than even Apple sells!

    • +3

You bet! F*****g $2000 for a 2016 Macbook air that was sold $1000 by Dick Smith 2 weeks ago. Damn!

    • +1

can we complaint to ebay about these sellers???

      • +8

I doubt its more than just one seller.

      • There are heaps of sellers, was following a printer to buy to find out it's more than RRP. Annoying. Don't complain. Just don't buy it.

    • +4

      I noticed that too!

Ausluck has the 13" MacBook Pro 128gb for $2199 (Apple RRP is $1999)
      http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/APPLE-MACBOOK-PRO-13-128GB-2-7GHz…

Also the iPad Pro 9.7" 128GB for $1099 (Apple RRP $999)
      http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/APPLE-iPAD-PRO-128GB-Wi-Fi-9-7-SP…

    • agreed one of the worst sales in ozb history

    • I bought an iPhone off them once. I had a question after the transaction, so I decided to call them. I figured, that's one of the benefits of buying from a local retailer. You can call and get an answer faster. Bad luck for anyone who calls. You'll be met with an aggressive, heavily-accented man who just yells "EMAIL EMAIL!", then hangs up. Not even a goodbye. That'll teach me for trying to communicate with them by phone.

    • You're not wrong, but I just managed to get a camera that I have been after for 3 months; for $270 less than JB Hi-Fi (after discount).

    • +2

The idea behind these sales is to find the products that, by mistake, didn't get jacked up.

      • +1

It's like a game of treasure hunt with no treasure. XD

  • -1

Does this discount apply to all products or just selected ones? I am interested in GoPro Hero5 black from Ted's camera.

    • +3

did you search for it before posting the question?

      • +1

Maybe he's unaware of how the sale works?

Does it make you feel intelligent for being a smartass?

        • there are no hero5 from any of the participant, not sure what are you talking about.

  • Good price on the Eaton 3s 700va ups http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Eaton-3S-UPS-700VA-Uninterruptibl… $103

  • Bought an iPhone 6s 64gb for $711. Cheaper than gumtree! Same product was $1229 a few weeks ago.

    • From which seller? Can you provide a link?

  • Not much Pentax gear at Ted's :(

  • -1

any of these sellers, selling mobiles?

    • There is a search bar in the middle of the page

      • thanks mate, found it before.

        Spewing no mate 8's

  • I seriously am curious how a company like Ted's is still around with their ridiculous RRP's…

    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Canon-EF-24-105mm-f4-L-IS-/122016…

This lens is sub $900 everywhere in AU, but these guys are telling us $1300!

    • Yeah it's crazy.

    • Somethings aren't bad. The sigma and Nikon lenses have some good savings after applying the code.

  • Does anyone know if any of these companies sell X Box Ones??

    • +1

No Xbox One's available from any sellers.

      • Cheers mate.

  • Any advice on which of these 2 micro ATX motherboards I should get?

Gigabyte Z170M-D3H $175.20 delivered from PC Byte vs Asrock A170M Pro4 $159 from MSY

Thinking of pairing it up with a 6GB Gigabyte 1060 mini ITX $348 delivered from FUTU.

6700 is 3.4GHz stock clock speed (4.0 turbo)

        • @Ryugen:

          what hellrazorone said ><

        • @hellrazorone: So .6 difference at cruise and .2 after turbo(stress)? Hokay just wondering.
