ZUKZ2GB

Gearbest is offering the Lenovo ZUK Z2 in both Black and White for US$245.89. This is the regular Z2 not the pro but it's still a decent deal. Not as cheap as Coolicool but I've been burned by them before.
ZUKZ2W is the coupon for the white model limited to 350(Black) and 100(White) pieces.

Meh, this zuk think doesn't even have a simple notification led.

and that's your deal breaker wow.

I think you'll find it does, just not enabled by default

      • it supports notification LED, but it comes in one color(white) only.

    • hahah….exactly my thoughts. But it doesnt have the 'G' logo.

      • Nor warranty, nor speedy security updates, nor speedy OS updates, nor reliable support.

Not saying the Pixel is priced competitively, but there certainly is more you're paying for than just a logo.

Until Google releases whatever Andromeda device next year and decides Pixels aren't in favour anymore..Nexus owners are pissed at Google's 7.1 release schedule.

Though I am curious if Google would directly support Pixels not purchased directly from them.

As much as I hate Apple, they're the only ones with a proven track record of support. And they're priced competitively with the Pixels.

Andromeda will be replace ChromeOS/tablets, shouldn't have much effect on phones.

Nexus owners are pissed at Google's 7.1 release schedule

I sure am. But still much better than Samsung and a gizzilon times better than Lonovo.

For warranty, they don't no. You go through the manufacturer.

          Agreed.

Honestly, was being a bit dramatic with that one for my point about Nexus support.

I know that's the case with the Nexus devices, but you got me curious, as I recall them saying it was a phone by them.

"An experience made by Google. The Pixel combines hardware and software made by Google"

From the Pixel page. They say they made it. I would expect support from them. The general public sure would. If they send people to HTC, it'd be like Apple sending you to Foxconn for warranty.

And: "While Google has contracted HTC to assemble the Pixel phones, Osterloh says the approach is no different than Apple’s partnership with iPhone builder Foxconn."

          https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2016-10-04/behind-th…

(Rick Osterloh being the head of Google's hardware division)

That's a good point, this time they are the OEM.

  • Looks good, we just need some custom roms.

  • if it had band 28 support it would be quite tempting.

  • FAQs

    Q: Band 28 700Mhz?
    A: No

  • Does it come with play store?

    • most of the phones sold by these re-sellers comes with dodgy rom which will have google play.

original Chinese rom doesn't have google play.

indian version rom comes with google play.

ZUK is Lenovos experimental high end sub brand which don't directly carry Lenovo logo, Trying to mimic 1plus but not successful
Down the track it will become more Lenovo again, unless they use moto resources, I don't think there are official rom with Google play

    • it depends

z2 plus (indian version) similar to this version had official rom with google play.

  • It does have notification LED. I have one. Bought it while it was at $280ish though.
