Virgin Australia's 'Happy Hour' sale. Good price for LAX return on this airline. Virgin states that only Sydney/Brisbane to Los Angeles is on sale, however I found sale flights from other cities too. For some reason they appear to be more expensive from Melbourne, not sure why. Flights must be between 14th October 2016 and 30th November 2016. Sale finishes at 11pm AEST tonight. Fairly new to posting deals so if I made any mistakes let me know. Cheers.

  Not really a bargain, there's been lots of sub-$1k LAX flights this year…

    Fair enough but I think the cheapest Virgin has done for SYD to LAX this year is $990. This is only $10 more with different dates and nationwide. So still a bargain I reckon.

      I'm flying return to LAX with Virgin + 2 one way domestic flights (to SFO and SEA->LAX) with Delta in November for $790 or so.

      They have been cheaper but maybe not this close to the date.

        It was a few months ago about when Qantas were doing about 800 return to LAX https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/246795.

        There was a bit of a price war going on between Air NZ, Qantas, American already. Stumbled upon a slightly better Virgin deal on Zuji and when I made it multi city I paid next to nothing for the domestic flights on Delta (who are in alliance with VA).

        That said, I've rerun my searches on Skyscanner and Zuji and anything sub $1k now seems to be a decent deal.

      Yeah don't get me wrong it's not a bad price just not the best price.

    VA direct MEL LAX start next year. Have to go through SYD or bNE at the moment afaik

    Unless you're happy flying China Southern for 60 hours in total, there's nothing sub a grand this close to Oct/November. December will be a nightmare due to christmas holidays.

    Air New Zealand if you're lucky you can get a flight for just above 1k.

    If you can get up to Sydney for cheap (the 12 hour drive will be quicker than any China Southern Flight haha), Air NZ are doing $964 in Feb (not the best)
